Injuries can sometimes be a blessing in disguise

Last week I got rammed by a Ford F350 while saving an idiot kid from the road. My left leg got entirely destroyed, and I have to get reconstructive surgery as well as bone replacement. Fast forward to yesterday, when they finally do a CT scan on me. Turns out, I have a benign brain tumor. The only reason the tumor was found is because I was already in the hospital. I got it removed hours ago with no brain functionality impairment, it was found early.

I'm so damn thankful I got hit by that truck.

Mate I am sorry that you've had health issues.
As tough as any situation is, you've got the correct attitude re: the tumour being picked up.

I hope you have a speedy recovery from here on out.

It's great that the tumor was found! I think it is the good repayment for saving the kid's life.
Here's to a speedy recovery of your leg.

F@#k! Talk about a double-whammy! Thankfully one whammy lead to finding the other inside your head. Get better and get back on your feet bro  :o

Glad that turned out well, hope your leg heals quickly. I got in a car accident a couple weeks ago where it was designated a total loss, but I worked it out where I got to keep/fix the car and still get a pretty nice payout. It worked out well that way as I'm currently mostly without work, as our business partner of 20 years shut down suddenly.
Oh yeah, and also:
meat

Soda as well.

holy smokes, are you lucky.  it's good you're looking at the positives about this,
don't let the negative take you over.

and what's with everyone getting hit by cars?
i think you're the 7th or 8th person i've known that's been run over (not counting myself) in the last 10 years.

also, if you have the option of metal implants or not - DON'T!
-you don't pick up any cool transmissions.
-you can't attach magnets to yourself.
-it just hurts like a bitch all the time, every day.

get well soon, chief.  it was 6 months or so before i got out of my wheelchair (and threw it in the river).

Too late, I've already had the surgery. My bones were entirely destroyed, they could not have healed on their own.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I get to walk again in 3 days!

Holy crap!

I'm inexpressibly happy to hear you're okay considering how horrid things could have been!  How are you doing now?  How is therapy going?

I was actually gonna post here today!

I GOT TO FUCKING RUN

it's basically pain all the time but i'm learning to deal with it. Steel implants are a bitch but at least i can function.
It was my first time running without a treadmill and a harness and they told me to only run a quarter mile and i ran three miles and they had to force me to stop and i'm in so much pain but it was fucking worth it man it's been three months since my shoes have touched dirt it felt so fantastic

positivity rant over

Glad to know you're rediscovering yourself and enjoying it. It's easy to forget things and take for granted that which you use on a daily basis. Then an accident happens and almost resets you back to square one so you have to learn it all over again. But from the sounds of it you're having a blast  :)
