Recently messing around a lot of original Mega Man and X/Zero series hacks. The one that added charged shot and slide to Mega Man 2 (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4099/) is pretty damn good. Mega Man 3 Improment project (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/992/) is still getting updates, while Mega Man 3 revamped (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4773/) is a good sample based off of it, with some good twist of level design for castle stages.

Mega Man Zero 2 Revisited (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7119/) is a really good way to neutralize infamous system designs in the game. Upon applied to Rockman Zero 2 Cutscene Skip hack (https://github.com/Ajarmar/platinum) alongside it a 99% definitive version of Zero 2 is already there.

TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection  8)

Every game from the most popular consoles of the day all in one. I was busy last night, lol. Minus -of course- the latest Turtles entry that has been recently released. Gotta get that one too.

Blaster Master Zero 2, up to Planet Divido atm.

While I believe it’s a solid game, I’m not so much a big fan of the planet hopping as much as the interconnected world of Zero / The original BM. It’s given me a much greater appreciation for those games, especially considering the first time I’d ever seen BM hit shelves it was 1991 (PAL versions were released much later in the 90’s)

The nice thing is that for a now occasional gamer, like me, the stages are more bite-sized and easier to pick up, even 2-3 years later.

I might have to give Zero 3 a crack after this.

EDIT: Completed BMZII with the proper ending. Good, but still doesn’t compare to the original Zero, too planet-hoppy and lack of interconnected world and additional difficulty for my liking.

Just bought The Street Fighter collection and Jedi collection for Switch. I'm a little disappointed that the Jedi games don't include the first two titles as they are part of the Kyle Katarn saga. The first being Dark Forces and the second (Dark Forces II) where you discover your Force heritage. There was no excuses there. The street fighter collection has a lot of games (even the first one from the arcade). Although they kinda dropped the ball on Alpha 3. Instead it should have been Alpha 3: Max as that game had a greatly expanded character roster. Though I have Alpha 3: Max for PSP it would have been nice to see it for the collection as well.

It sucks wangerdoodle that there are versions of these games that haven't been collected recently. In addition to SFA3 Max, there's SFA2 Gold from the PS2 collection where you can play as Cammy.

And on a (sort of?) related note, why can Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder never be released except on an expensive plug-and-play unit?

Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder. Love that game. I almost always play the Centaur chick on just how interesting/unique of a character she is. It really is a shame that they don't port that title to console or make it part of a Golden Axe collection.

Aggelos on hard mode (first play through). Maxed out with 100% items and the final boss is still rough as tbh. Awesome game all-in-all. It’s Wonderboy in Monsterworld x Zelda II

Got the platinum for Shadow of the Tomb Raider recently.  I think I actually like the new Tomb Raiders more then the Uncharted games. The combat is nice.

Currently playing stuff on my Legends Ultimate. I really like the quality of this cabinet better than the Arcade 1ups, especially the buttons and joysticks. Not nearly as many input fails on fighting games.

Currently rocking Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on the Switch. Got close to halfway through two other times: once on Wii U, then on Switch, but would put the game down for years after that, lol. Started a new game and I'm on the final boss (though I assume there's a secret world). Enjoying it more this time around because I didn't get stuck obsessing over finding all the puzzle pieces and doing the time attack. That stuff'll come later. After all, when I played the original DKC trilogy as a kid, I would just beat the games first and then complete 'em later.

Just put a stronger spring in the player 1 joystick of my MVSX and played some King of Fighters 99 to test it out. I love just screwing around on the KOF games and finding specials, combos, and supers.

On the other hand, I played Samurai Shodown for the first time the other day and had not a damn clue what I was doing. And the green guy with the Freddy Krueger glove isn't on there. Boooo.

Death's Gambit. I first played it a few years ago but never finished it, so imagine my surprise when I finally booted it up again this year and found sci-fi elements in the wake of the Afterlife update.

Also, Forgive Me Father. It's a fast and furious boomer shooter that'll probably make you feel like a total badass who can take down even the nastiest monsters in a hail of bullets. But at the end, once the dust has settled and the carnage is over, it takes great care to remind you this is a Lovecraftian adventure. I'll leave it at that.

Return of Ishtar, the follow up to Tower of Druaga, on Namco Museum 4, quite a confusing little game for it's time. US magazines ripped on Namco Museum 4 of the time, as well as Ishtar, they were wrong, it's not a bad game at all, just gotta know how the rooms connect, and keep two characters alive instead of yourself (Ki and Gil).

Friday nights have been arcade nights at home for me and my wife. We played Ninja Baseball Bat Man and Golden Axe. She went to bed early, then I played through Splatterhouse and Puzzle Bobble 2. I wanted to try KOF 2022, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow night.

Can't wait to get the quadplay control panel and the LCD marquee for my AtGames Legends Ultimate cabinet. I placed both on reserve a while back. I just hope the sticks on the quadplay are as good as the standard control panel.

Triangle Strategy, currently playing on the hardest setting. It’s good, similar to Fire Emblem Awakening.
