Well, that was weird.

I just saw John Carter. Now, they could have done literally anything for the costume desgn, since the books had... None. But anyway, since they could have designed anything for the costumes and red Martian tattoos, apparently they decided to give Dejah Thoris Shanoa's clothing and shoulder tattoos for roughly half of the movie.

I mean... it's gotta be a coincidence, right?  She wears the same top!  And they patterned all of her tattoos in the same way as the art.  And the text in the books is vague enough about those designs that they could be anything (and we all know about the clothes).  So, it's very, very weird.

In Todd McCarthy's review of John Carter in The Hollywood Reporter, he called it pastiche. I thought it was funny because the actor's last name is Kitsch.

I never read John Carter books so I'm not that inclined to see it. The title was so bland, though, that it made me curious as to what it was so i had to look it up.

Heretic-sama! Of all things, why would a John Carter thread bring you back from the dead? D:

IMO, the title John Carter of Mars sounds much more appealing than just John Carter.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.
