Its narrative mixes elements of the the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, the history of the Brazilian "Cangaço" (a 19th century "Wild West" what happened here in the northeast of the country in the hinterlands) and its popular "cordel literature" (with short verses and tributary of the medieval literature in which the work of Dante joins). Find all six artifacts, face 5 bosses, get new skills and gain access to new areas in an purgatory visually inspired by the art of woodcuts.
This is my third game, and I have several projects for 2017, including a megaman-inspired game, another in Alteread Beast, and if it's time, a classicvania game set in the middle ages, but seen from the side of the Christian-dominated peoples.
Please, tell me your impressions.

Hey, welcome! Your above pics of game definitely looks as though it belongs on a Gameboy played through Super Gameboy's color palette.

Looks cool! I see about trying it out. I always dig games that build on stories that are not so well known.

Hi, Virgil's Purgatory for ZX Spectrum is complete and launched. you can find it on ichio: https://amaweks.itch.io/virgils-purgatory-zilog (https://amaweks.itch.io/virgils-purgatory-zilog)
This 2021 version is a Demake of the PC version I did back in 2016. The PC version mimics Super Game Boy aesthetics, and the new version is a real ZX Spectrum game. Below some images of the ZX version:
