As much as I want to support the official release... that's over $256... I think I may have to wait and pray this ends up on the torrent networks lads.

You get a bonus disc if you buy both sets on Konamistyle. The bonus disc seems to be a reprint of MIDI Power Pro 6 with additional tracks, whatever that means.
At least they're not vinyls with CD rips on them. They're discs with CD rips on them. I can play them on my DVD player and my portable CD player.
More seriously, who knows which discs are straight ports of older releases and which discs are new recordings. I guess at least the new games like LoD and Legends will be new and hopefully clean recordings with proper beginnings, loops and fade-outs.
This is also the first CV-related thing sold by Konami I'm buying after 2010's BEST MUSIC COLLECTIONS BOX, woah 11 years ago. That one was 21,000 yen with 18 CD and a DVD. This one's 28,600 yen with 26 CD.

Lol, I'm in a similar situation. I bought the previous collection box and haven't bought any CV collectibles for years now. I'm super tempted to get this one and I'm not even sure why.

Cool to see Dracula XX get an official OST finally. Are the soundtracks complete this time, unlike the previous box where they omitted tracks? Wouldn't be surprised if CV1–4 and the Game Boy games are just the Dracula Best super reverby mixes all over again.

So far it seems EVERYTHING will be a reprint from an existing past release, except those tracks that have never been released like Legends, LoD and XX. For example, Dracula X (PCE) will be from the Dracula X Chronicles release (the 2nd disc).
It's just one more cash grab. I also thought they might have been crazy enough to re-record everything properly once and for all, how stupid was I.

It's most likely reprints but they have complete OSTs this time. Since single OSTs sell for hundreds of bucks individually on eBay and other marketplaces, I'd rather pay $250 once and get done with it, even if that means having a few ones in double. Now to wait until December.

Amazon jp sells them separately but they have a free 24x24cm mega CD jacket as a limited edition bonus.

I do hope they bring this across the pod, even if only through a site like limited run games or something. I want it but I'm leery of trying to import it.

Anyone know the cheapest/beat way to get the bonus disc? I'm contemplating selling all my originals (some of which are boots) for this. Might be worth it just to get the CDs officially.

Are these two collections still available anywhere? I was broke when they came out, now I have monies.
Or maybe, you know, someone could provide me with a rip or something.
Was it ever affirmed that it's just reused CD masters for the previously released stuff? So Dracula's Curse still has sound effects, the GBA games still sound like muffly garbage, all that fun stuff? Would be nice if Konami ever redid all the soundtracks from scratch or licensed them to a label who cares. Ha!

I'm not sure if all are reprints. On the sound side, according to some people who did quick comparisons, they increased loudness, which makes this set sound a bit worse, but it's probably fine for most people.
Both sets are still available on Amazon Japan. Note that they sell the GFCA reprints (not the Konamistyle exclusives LC prints).
I think a Castlevania music set should be externalised. There are companies who do this for a living (Clarice Disc, Wave Master, SuperSweep, EGG...) - but so far they haven't done much for Konami. I can only remember the 3 Konami Famicom Sound Chronicle albums, and there's no Castlevania on those.
EDIT - for those who only care about Castlevania of the FDS/FC/NES, get FAMICOM 20TH ANNIVERSARY ORIGINAL SOUND TRACKS VOL.3 which is still widely available from internet shops. It's a separate recording by Scitron and it's the cleanest you can get for cheap. There are also other good FC games on that release.

I hear Data Discs are some of the best in the biz, though they only do vinyl records and I think that's crap, because I'm still about collecting CDs. But their methods of remastering game soundtracks is really cool, whereas Konami's vinyl OSTs through Mondo are just CD masters put to wax.
