Eternal Sonata, tales of graces F, Tales of Xillia 1 and 2, as well as Enchanted Arms were several of my favorites on ps3.

What about you?

Batman (both games), Deus Ex, ESIV Oblivion,  ES V Skyrim, MGS4, CoD MW2, GTA IV, Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV...

Of course there are many more games from that console that I like, but those posted above are my favorite. I remember getting my PS3 within days of GTA IV's launch, so it was my first PS3 game. However, the real reason I got the PS3 when I did is because I was such a huge Metal Gear fan that I got a part time job just so I could get a PS3 and MGSIV on launch. I loved this console generation.

Honorable mention to Lords of Shadow... I didn't care much for the other two games in the series, but I definitely enjoyed the first one.

I still keep the vast majority of my PS3 library, and it was a brilliant console to be sure.

InFamous 2 was my entry point, and I still think that the InFamous games are the best superhero games I've ever played, particularly because Sucker Punch was able to spin such a great setting and memorable protagonists out of sheer creativity and will -- unlike the other "usual suspects" when the topic of "Greatest Superhero Game Ever" gets brought up, InFamous isn't an adaptation of a preexisting property.

I got sucked into the WWIII spy thriller of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Trilogy, a ride I still haven't ever forgotten, and Black Ops took me on what has to be my second favorite Cold War romp of all time (biggest favorite is forever going to be MGS3. Sorry Mason.) I got to live out a globe trotting Indiana Jones fantasy with Uncharted, and watched Lara Croft take her first, formative steps to becoming the Tomb Raider. Dragon's Crown is one of the best side scrolling melee games ever. Dead Space scared the shit out of me for the first time in a long time. Kratos was still angry, and I actually played through the entire God of War series on PS3; I even liked Ascension well enough (though I'd done Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta first on PSP). Killzone 2 and 3 are some of the best FPS games ever that steadily deconstruct the tropes and cliches of the genre, and Spec Ops: The Line would do that even better the next year. I actually enjoyed DMC: Devil May Cry quite a bit (especially because I never ONCE believed it was going to replace the mainline games), and put tons of hours into learning the intricacies of its combat, which was a little easier to do than DMC4, another solid game. We got the Lost Planet games, which are just good campy fun, almost like a far future Monster Hunter subfranchise (ESPECIALLY 2). I got to watch Metal Gear Solid ask the question of "What if Metal Gear, but Devil May Cry?" and boy did Platinum deliver something amazing. I've lost track of how many hours I spent submerged in BioShock 1 & 2's Art Deco Nightmare of Rapture. We got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which was just rocket-fueled AWESOME (seriously nobody plays these for the story just enjoy the power trip guys), Tron Evolution was an actually FUN movie tie in game that actually did answer a few questions I'd had about the film's plot in a meaningful way, and even some of the less popular games like Bulletstorm and TimeShift were pretty fun. And of course, the next two chapters of the series that has been my all consuming lifetime obsession, ELDER SCROLLS, hit PS3 as well (Skyrim being the better overall game but Oblivion is by far the better RPG).

Also, PlayStation All Stars was the CENTER of my Job Corps dorm social life, it's a fun casual fighting game, and it could have and should have been in every way Smash's equal but for some TRULY astonishingly strange roster choices by Sony (no Cloud? No Lara Croft? No Crash? But we're getting Fat Princess and that one guy from StarHawk? Fuck, did ANYONE even PLAY Starhawk?!). I will die on this hill.

I have more memories, but I'll stop here for now. Suffice it to say, the PS3 was the right system at the right time. It came roughly right after I'd graduated High School, and I had both disposable income in spades and disposable time also in spades. My PS3 is quite possibly my favorite console in my collection, more than even my PS2, and that's saying something. It's unfortunate that my PS4's software and hardware issues broke my love for the Sony brand and drove me to Xbox and PC. Fortunately, they've never done me wrong in the same way.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I got my first PS3 back in 2009. It was the Metal Gear Solid 4 release bundle and it kept me busy until I started building up my collection. Still have that same PS3 and it still runs well. It's also reverse-compatible with both PS2 and PS1 titles. I was surprised about that option. Although I should get around to cleaning out the dust as my system is rather noisy now.

Man, I loved the PS3. Initially I favored the 360 due to Sony's early arrogance (and their awful E3 presentation), but I had to get one when MGS4 came out. It gradually won me over, and I ended up preferring it over the 360. My favorite games were Demon's Souls, Uncharted, Medieval Madness (on a pinball game collection), the RE remake, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Dragon's Crown.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

The one hard truth about PS3 over Microsoft XBOX 360; No cheap parts and red ring of death. I own an original XBOX (Crystal Edition) but never, ever got the 360 because of said issues. It would've been a waste of money just to buy a new system ever few years  :P

PS3 was fantastic. Enjoyed way too many games on it to list them all but I want to mention an fps that was incredible but was multiplayer only and has unfortunately now vanished from existence. That is MAG. It was insane 256 player matches, had incentives that promoted teamwork and honestly it had less lag and was more reliable than just about any shooters I've played since even with the huge player matches. It's really sad that it's impossible to play it anymore. It was the pinnacle of large team shooters and getting players to communicate and cooperate.

But anyways. I chose PS3 over Xbox 360. But I choose Xbox One over PS4. My PS4 experience has been disappointing. Terrible battery life with the controllers and a fan that is so loud it's headache inducing.

But yeah PS3 was one of the best consoles ever.
