Looks like there will be a physical release for the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on PS4 and Switch.

First GoS shutting down without even getting a worldwide release, no this and... it's Limited Run...meh. Gonna pass on this, i hate LR releases to be honest and makes me sad and angry that Konami cares so little about this brand at this point they don't even care about other people profiting over it when they could have released this themselves like Capcom does with their collections. At this point i hope someone straight up buys the IP, be it Artplay, Nintendo ( I wish!) or anyone else

At this point, Nintendo would be the best choice to get the series under it's wing!! It has shown that with super smash bros.

LRG are kind of lame tbh. They take so long(years) to release games that are released later anyways. Celeste is a prime example of this. It sucks and it devalues the exclusivity of their own games, but they could care less because by then they have your money.

I’m not complaining about Castlevania for the people who really want it, but there’s nothing exclusive about it. If it was a Switch version of Requiem it would make a lot more sense as a business decision.

It’s like reading about Blaster Master Zero for PS4, you get hyped but realise it’s on the PSN anyways.

I also echo the sentiment that Konami don’t care enough to even make money off the franchise and you know anything Castlevania is going to sell out straight away.

I'll probably still get it. Yes, LRG takes a little while to get the physical copies out, but it's nice to have the titles in physical form on my shelf. Better this than nothing...

The only selling point for me would be if they did an ultimate package with CV and COTM2, which had the regular and Collectors Editions. I ended up nabbing the Celeste one and still sitting on it atm. I’m considering selling off the lot, because I may never play it now.

What was the last time Nintendo bought an IP that wasn't originally Nintendo-exclusive? Was it Fatal Frame?

It's like my petitioning on the Konami message board circa 2000 for a Castlevania Anthology has finally come to fruition, all these years later. It's missing Rondo and X68000 but oh well—having this collection on a physical disc/card will be cool.

If this were more "complete" I'd probably buy it.  I'd like to see it include Legends, Rondo of Blood, Dracula X, X68000/Chronicles and Adventure Rebirth.  I'd be fine with it just being a Classicvania bundle, then do a separate one with the other games.  Though, an added bonus would be to see the N64 games included.

Well I sure hope this is only the first collection.  They pretty much picked their titles by release order, only skipping the non-console games.  A second set of 8 would do wonders.  But maybe the next eight releases are too “big” to put in a big collection?

Not as big as one might think. Blu ray discs hold a lot of memory and they're dual-layered too. The past CV console titles on disc are not nearly as big as the game that have come out in the last ten years. I'm not counting the Mercurysteam titles though. A single layered Blu ray holds 25 GB. A dual-layered disc holds 50 GB of memory. There are also Blu ray XL discs and they can hold 100 to 120 GB of memory.
