I really should, as I'd hate for it to take nearly another ten years to do. Some of the reason why I stopped working on it was because I was up to my eyeballs writing a beast of a thesis, and then I've just been really busy. I think that making a mistake on his cloak clasp that I can't undo without having to completely unpick a whole section knocked my confidence a bit with it - I'm too much of a perfectionist. I need to crack on first again with a fairly small project that I need done by July, then I think it's time to return to my precious Alucard project.

@tatteredseraph: In cross stitching, you can not afford to not be a perfectionist. A pixel (stitch) makes a lot of difference. I had whole sections cut off for my archangel one (soon to be posted) and the current Alucard one I'm stitching. You should not give up, just because of those things. My techniques are: do stitches in small batches, check and double check your position and do not jump stitches! It is when I jump long distances that I lose count. haha.

@Shiroi: The mistake I made was that rather than do two stitches of one colour on a row, I did four, effectively taking the spot of two very similar colours adjacent to it, which had one stitch each. Just trying to find a way to correct it would be helish. I tend to work in the ten by ten blocks on the graphing of my chart. My friend who got me stitching in the first place told me it's not noticeable, however, I know it's there...

@Tattered: That won't be noticeable in the long run. You'll forget it's there eventually since it just replaced similar colors. In all my works there are some switched colors but no one notices and some of those color switches are intended ones. haha. I think my way of working stitches is much more prone to mistakes. I work by color group and not by grid.

Once I have this other embroidery out of the way, I do want to get back to working on Al. The problem was that I was getting to points where I was stitching for almost 24 hours solid - once day, I found myself starting sewing in the late morning, and asdie for the occassional food break, etc, I was up sewing until gone 9am the next morning. Not helpful when a university student!

@Tattered: Eh... why must you have such a bad habit of sewing non stop? I sew 15-30 mins at a time and for a grand total of about 2 hours a week. My eyes get tired and my hand says stop. hahaha.

@Shiroi: Because I get addicted to it, and lose track of time! I'm the same with reading.

I tend to do things like stick on a series that I can have on in the background (Trinity Blood's a common one, or Avatar: The Legend of Aang/Korra), and I just keep sewing. *Laughs*
