they should make a whole series of Paro Wars games. the Parodius shmups are great, but Paro Wars has infinite potential

Do you have a PC? If so you can search for  PS1 emulators online. This would allow you the chance to play your game. Or if you've gotten the PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 edition like I did, then you should also be able to play your game on that as well. It's reverse-compatible, allowing you to play PS1 and PS2 games. I was lucky to get my hands on one such system.

It's a Japanese game, and far as I know the US PS3 wasn't region free with Japanese PS1 games.

As for Paro Wars, ehh, it's good if you liked Cosmic Wars, the Gradius based Famicom strategy game. But personally I like the Parodius games, and have never been too big on strategy RPG's, even if a lot of the series staple humor is in Paro Wars. Personally I like how Twinbee ended, a JRPG.

My PS3 can't play PS2 games, dont think it can play PS1 games too scared to put it in PS3.  Its nice and clean.   My stupid friends brutalized my copy of Tobal 2, its all scratched up.  I used to use some method to get it to play on PS1 using a device that plug in the back and a pencil and disc swap method,  but that was over 10 years ago.

Ah yes. The infamous mod chip. I still have that for my system.
