Topic: Requesting DoS or PoR screenshots

I was wondering if anyone had some good quality screen captures or actual tile rips from DoS and/or PoR? I found a few low-res images with Google image search but they weren't very helpful.

I want to view them for educational purposes. Maybe I can study them and draw some ideas/inspiration for my own Vampiria stage designs.

Looking at the screens I found with Google, DoS looks nice. I think it looks just as good (if not slightly better than) as SotN.

I hear tell from the IRC channel that there be emulator programs that can now display images bettarrrr... thus, you might be able to get yourself some screenies on your own.

That's what I hear anyway.

My initial impression: the graphics in DoS are really nice. Regardless of what I think about this game personally, it looks great.



My style is totally different obviously(a lot darker) but I think I will be able to draw a lot of inspiration from the art in the DS games.

I will examine PoR next. I have heard its graphics aren't as good as DoS, but I shall see.

i play dos on emu but soma's sprite isn't seen also others aren't mostly the drawing stuff.
so once you get to the first boss its over
it was hell to get to where you can play took at least 10 mins
i couldn't get past the drawing stuff on por i really wanted them bad ass tree sprites at the beginning.lol
but the best sprite in por has to be the warewolf

NICE, thanks for the screens. The graphics look different in style than DoS... I'm not saying they're better or worse, but definitely different.

Any more screens would be appreciated. I could spend all day looking at this stuff and never get bored.

Have those then. I've been grabbing some shots for the chapel's articles about the games, so i have some of por's there and will have dos later on too, since now there's an emulator that actually shows the village correctly and doesn't crash on 3d backgrounds.

The emulator works for the most part, but for some reason in  certain rooms the background layer will black out entirely.
