I agree that Hasbro has a thing going on with their reboots. I didn't bother with their dozens of transformers series, but I watched GI JOE Resolute. As a mini-mini-series, it was actually quite good. You didn't even have to like the 80's toys to appreciate it, as it stands quite well on its own grounds.

I've seen a couple of episodes myself, and it's definitely not a bad cartoon. My issues with it stem from the fanbase betraying the quality of the show itself. While that is usually the case with anything at all, here it's just so in your face that it puts me off from wanting to watch any more of it.

HEY! I love that avatar.

I guess I should clarify that I don't think Haman-sama is creepy or anything like that, since even he rejected the show before becoming absorbed into its world. I'm talking about the more extreme types.

Yup. It's the whackjobs who think they're going to marry Fluttershy or are the reincarnation of Applejack or stuff like that that ruin the reputations of the legitimately sane fans.Like me.

Which is an absolute shame, because from a soon-to-be-animation major's standpoint, the show's got its own unique style that really defines its personality, especially if you consider that they usually have only a week to make an episode. Many shows do this, yes, but the amount of detail, especially with the very little things and references and innuendos, that the producers use really define the quality of the show in its given timeslot limits.

Oh god I hate those people. Yes, I'm a TEENSY bit obsessive about the show, but honestly, those nutjobs give guys like us a bad name.

There's a difference, and a BIG one at that, between people like you and I (I'm assuming you're like me on this note, correct me if I'm wrong), who know a lot, if not all, about the show and characters, and will not hesitate to make a reference to Zap Apples if the situation calls for it. That's about the extent of my fandom, so you're not going to see me in a Pinkie costume running around a con squealing about kumqwats. See? Obscure episode reference that is appropriate to the situation. Ta-da!

I'll lob the appropriate reaction image/video on occasion (though admittedly I am tempted to do it for everything), and I've got a few apps for it, but honestly...

Personally, I just take these nutcases with a grain of salt and laugh at them. After all, every fandom has their own hilariously obsessive vocal minorities that give them a bad name, right? What really matters is how you present yourself as part of the fandom.

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

I do try to take things in stride, because as you say, every fandom has a crazy minority.

I just wish they made it a bit easier.

On a slight change of topic, my favorite character is is either Fluttershy or Pinky Pie. Hard to tell. Fluttershy is just sweet, but Pinky Pie is absolutely random and crazy, and personifies my sense of humor at it's most manic.

The ones that really get to me are the Hidden Badass types. That alone should be more than enough to tell you who it is.

Always great when a pony suffers a nervous breakdown. Of course, Fluttershy's is rightly famous.

Great compilation from season 1:

My Little Pony: Mental Breakdowns (Season 1)

EDIT:
Best comment on that video breaks it down succinctly:

Twilight Sparkle: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Rarity: Narcissism
Apple Jack: Insomnia
Fluttershy: Intermittent Explosive Disorder
Rainbow Dash: Acute Anxiety Disorder
Pinkie Pie: Schizophrenia

Dear God, Party of One was creepy. And this is coming from the guy who has a morbid attraction to the murderously insane. :-X
Of course, Lesson Zero has that one beat once you take Season 2 into account.

wow! Aeon Actually looks good as a pony more-so then a human. I'm basing that off of his terrible choice of looks *Cough*lipstick*Cough*. some of those other pony-based CV art is also interesting. Although I think Dracula would be difficult to do as a pony since I can only see him as being a War Horse  :o

I guess I can see why people like these ponies, but I watched an episode and just didn't get what all the fuss was about. :p
