Title: The Lovely Bones

Start off with typical Twilight teenage romance sheenanigans

Brutally murder the teenybopper female lead right around the 30 minute mark

The entire rest of the movie can be described as Stir of Echoes as told from the perspective of the ghost

Throw in Marky Mark and a child molester

Lots of creepy What Dreams May Come-esque surreal imagery, including one scene involving a bath tub that's akin to the Pale Man sequence from Pan's Labyrinth

Arbitrarily set the plot in 1970's Pennsylvania

Why didn't I know about this until now?

You were not a fan of Peter Jackson?

I like the LotR trilogy and The Frighteners.  I want to get around to watching Dead Alive sooner or later.  King Kong was terrible and has no reason to exist.

That's the extent of my knowledge of Peter Jackson films.

The Lovely Bones was not given that much attention by the press (compared to LOTR and King Kong), so maybe that is why you missed it.

I would have to agree, PJ's King Kong should be buried! I prefer the original.
