As with all rumors about Konami doing literally anything gamer-friendly: I'll believe it not when I see it, but when I actually have my hands on it.

Same here.

It would be a good move to have DXC on the Switch.

Vergeben was right yet again, that means a new game is on it's way too.

TGS is tomorrow, I think we will get an official announcement for Requiem this weekend.

I'm excited! I hope it's for all platforms because I would love to play Rondo and SotN on my Switch in handheld mode!

Well.....Konami seems to gain ground against IGA. Since the Castlevania collection has turned out to be true, then it might turned out true also the new Castlevania game and if, i repeat if there is a new Castlevania game, with RotN being delayed to 2019 i don't think it will do good for it's reputation, since half of the backers are already mad.

Now are we sure this "new game" being spoken of is not Grimoire of Souls?  Because that would be incredibly disappointing.

Dracula was not always a monster. He was once a man named Mathias Cronqvist. A flawed, conflicted, genius of a man. How did the educated, aristocratic, crusader who piously served the church become a vampire, and eventually the Dark Lord himself, the opposing force to God? From a very young age terrors and tragedy shaped the man into the king of all evil. This is his story.

I’m wondering if the reason Castlevania 1 wasn’t put on the Nintendo Classics on Switch is because of this rumored collection. It would make sense that Konami would allow for one of their most iconic games to be put on the Switch unless there was a reason for it not to be - like a collection.
Grady’s is a great classic but it’s not really a killer app. My guess is that they allowed them to use Gradius because there’s no plans for that game.
Totally going out on a limb here but that’s my guess

If the collection is just Rondo and Symphony then it's not in my concern (as well as most people, I believe)
As Symphony... maybe only tiny little port difference can attract SotN RTA players to buy it. If no difference from pre-existence ports it will be bombed.

Probably, it's not worth their while to get 200k online sales if they can use the leverage to sell 1 million copies of a CV collection.

It better not be the XBLA port.
It better be a complete port which includes the SSOTN extras, otherwise it will still do well but isn't exactly offering anything new.

Vergeben never dropped any specifics on the new game, he just said one is coming. If it were Grimoire of Souls he would have specified it.

Grimoire of Souls is a mobile game, and I believe Vergeben mentioned this new game will be on Nintendo Switch.

Awesome. But I hope the collection is bigger than those two games. Still, Isabelle got announced for Smash recently, and she was yet another Smash character connected to Vergeben's statements. I've been saying for a while, too many things have come true from leaks/rumors related to the Castlevania collection and new Castlevania game. Interesting times. I think Vergeben said that Adventure Rebirth could be in the cards, and if that's the case, there's surely a few more games. But then again, that could be unrelated.

Vergeben mentioned this new game will be on Nintendo Switch.

Given it's supposedly on a Nintendo console, a compilation of the more recent Nintendo Castlevanias wouldn't hurt.

Perhaps they'd place AR as an extra given it only came out for the Wii.

There's no Castlevania on their TGS line-up list of titles, as seen here: https://gematsu.com/2018/09/konami-announces-tgs-2018-lineup

However, they can do a ninja announcement online.

OR...

They would wait until around Halloween for the announcement so that it coincides with the Netflix show.

I think this is probably the most likely option, as Konami's remaining marketing people definitely have a couple patterns and this (Castlevania stuff in October) is historically one of them.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Konami's official Twitter is plugging the show and, particularly, the staff on the show.

They're probably waiting for season 2 to drop and get all of the users moving to watch it with an announcement of "hey fans, the games this show is based on are getting re-released!". Make an announcement at a release seems to be one of the "in" things companies are doing, something Sega's now doing with Yakuza games.
