This update is not about the current status of Carpathian Night's development, but something much more important.
War, the greatest evil, has come to the people of Ukraine. It is always the working class people that must endure the horrors of the hell on earth known as war. I am saying these things not only because I am vehemently anti-war, but because two incredibly talented artists from Ukraine have played a huge role in the creation of Carpathian Night, and I worry deeply about their safety and the safety of everyone they care about.
The political games of the ruling class always push us towards war, and we, the common working class people, are always used as the expendable pawns. We should always speak out loudly against war and all of its ghastly incarnations, like many Russians are doing now. We should show support to those protestors in any way we can, and remember that what makes them brave is that they are resisting imperialism from their own government, a responsibility all working people across the world share in common.
Carpathian Night is just one example of what we can accomplish when people around the world come together in friendship. This game would not exist if not for the efforts of our team members, many of which reside outside of our US headquarters. Carpathian Night represents the combined efforts of working people from four different countries, including Ukraine. War destroys us, ruins us, and further enriches the rich. Conversely, international friendship enables us to accomplish great things together, for all of our benefit. Support peace, not war. Spread love, not hate. We are all one.
My greatest wish is for peace and safety for the people of Ukraine, including our current team member Helena, and our former team member Serhiy. The soul of Carpathian Night will always be part Ukrainian, because Carpathian Night would not be what it is without the efforts of Helena and Serhiy.
