WHO DO YOU DESPISE?

I'm keeping this to canon Belmonts, so no mentions of poor Desmond and not-so-poor Sonia.

I think for me, it's Richter. It's nothing against him per say, but more against the fact that for the longest time, DXC was my only available Castlevania and I just got overexposed. And then I Portrait'd my Ruin and GUESS WHO WAS THE UNLOCKABLE BELMONT?  :o

Shortly after, I bought a second copy of the Double Pack, plus Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia and all was well.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

I don't hate any of the canon Belmonts.  I guess Christopher just because I don't find him to be even remotely interesting.

I don't really hate any of the Belmonts, but for the least liked I guess it would be Julius. Old guy's a bit of a slow whipper compared to the other Belmonts (though not so much in AoS. And I'm counting based on how long it takes for the whip to snap forward, not the total length of the animation), and the only notable move he has is Omnia Vanitas (which only saw use in AoS and HD), which isn't really all that useful compared to, say, Richter's tackle.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I don't personally hate any of the Belmonts either. But I can say that I'm dissatisfied with the Juste Belmont design. He was clearly based off of Alucard's design; White long hair, pale complexion, etc. It's as if Ayami Kojima didn't give him enough of his own true identity or even attempt to. No offense to her but I personally think Juste' character should've been handled much better.

In terms of liking the Belmonts the least, there's Julius, and that's because he's mostly "tell, don't show." If I can't see his badassery in actual action and not exclusive to bonus scenarios, I can't buy it.

There's also Richter and his wading through the levels in Rondo as if he was walking through molasses. I want Maria but I can't get past that stupid axe knight. [/complaining]

I don't have a least favorite Belmont. If we're counting the LoS world I'm not the biggest fan of Gab but I don't hate him. So, I guess you could say him?

Like most everyone else in this thread, I don't dislike any of them yet.

I'll just say Trevor because Simon was first, and Konami went with the typical route of doing a prequel after a sequel to expand on the story.
Reluctant fighting game, Mega Man/X, Dragon Quest, and Castlevania lifelong fan.

What do I do with all these Belmonts?

:-\In all honesty I say (to me anyway) Trevor. Only because he needed three people to complete his quest to defeat the fated ol' count,(besides julius in DoS because julius went through the castle by himself in AoS)  ;D

Well, as a rule I don't particularly hate any character brandishing the Vampire Killer. If I had to choose though, it would be Leon (hands down).

Can we please make Jonathan count? It's not that I don't enjoy all of the sub-weapons... I just can't stand his character design, along with everyone else in Portrait of Ruin. What's amusing is that it's otherwise my favorite DS title—it's that enjoyable.

Many thanks.

Yeah, technically new. This is a second account I made a couple of years ago, with the intent to start posting again. At that time, I think my last hiatus was around 2008(?). Unfortunately though, I didn't get around to it until now—a lot of moving and distraction.

Just trying to get the wheels turning on my end. :)

Are you serious? Trevor fought and defeated Dracula, Alucard, Death, Grant, Hector, Isaac in Pachislot 3, and countless of other evil things. He also saved Sypha during his journey. He's fucking awesome!

The Pachislot games are not canon IIRC.

I know. I just wanted to add Isaac to the list. Pachislot 3 is basically just a retelling of Castlevania 3 anyway. Trevor defeated the rest during Dracula's Curse and Curse of Darkness.

Isn't that non-canon?  We might as well count Trevor Mode in Curse of Darkness, then.
