So let me get this straight: The rest of us aren't allowed to speculate about in-game elements (knowing full well the context and that they were retconned) but you can speculate about a guide which doesn't contain the correct endings.... Yeah, nuff said... (all of a sudden that solid black Gerudo Stallion in full stride has bitten the dust) :rollseyes:

I didn't say nobody is allowed to speculate, just that it isn't a very fruitful way of solving any mysteries. The reason I brought up my speculation regarding the ending was in the hope of someone being able to confirm it by looking at the game's code. This theory didn't pan out. Which sadly means that Simon's Quest still hasn't revealed all of its secrets.

I'd imagine that the hand ending is the canon ending simply because there are games that come after Simon's Quest in the timeline. Also, the fact that Simon didn't gather the fang and thus, wasn't able to actually complete the ritual means Dracula may have been KOed but wasn't actually killed and sealed away.
