I can't see anything

If I were to post pictures of my massive collection, many members heads here will explode upon looking and I will become the target of ridicule and hatred alike (if not already); therefore I'm reluctant to show it off. However the collective consciousness of the CVD persuades me to take pictures, so I will open up the crate & organize everything once I clean my room a lil bit. I have 4 dogs, so you can imagine the levels of dog hair abundant within my household.

I will try to have everything for your viewing pleasure by this weekend~

We take the word and wait to take photos.

I love to see collections of others and know I'm not the only patient. Jejejeje

Thanks and best regards.

Pleasant collection friend, I remember seeing several of these in various shops.
Shows how different times are, more action packed vs our generic (character foreboding) we call cover art.

So yeah Akumajo, I'm stealing your thread and making it a public thing. :P

Here is my collection. Not the biggest, but not bad I think. I have about 80-something items. The pictures had to be a little small to fit but hopefully you'll be able to see them well enough. If you have any questions about what something is let me know.
Also I have the official whip, but it's not pictured

Okay...I figured I'd post my collection since it's grown quite a bit since last time (the one I posted in the Video Games Collection thread, actually). And I actually bought some boxed copies of things I already owned, and kept the loose ones as playable copies. Anyway, here goes...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg198.imageshack.us%2Fimg198%2F6370%2F20120124224401226.jpg&hash=e8e1dcb95a98b3812d114d535b6d9d7f)
Just a shot of the standard stuff, in one pile.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg860.imageshack.us%2Fimg860%2F9353%2F20120124223806749.jpg&hash=7a09575c7a16ddfbfbbd362c4724043a)
Mostly accessories I bought at a place down the street, and a few flyers.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F9153%2F20120124223906405.jpg&hash=3dd89eeda37378c809da24990e589dc3)
That's the music box down to the right. Friggin' glare. I suck at taking pictures. Also...I miss the days when Konami arcade flyers all had moderately attractive 80's women in them.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg822.imageshack.us%2Fimg822%2F5381%2F20120124224012210.jpg&hash=65b92098ca9a4ee10db239b1ef16e78f)
This includes the second Simon's Quest handheld. The only reason I have an extra is because this one came with the booklet (and it was only $15). I see these all the friggin' time on ebay now. Saw a sealed one of these and a sealed SotN, too! Had Paypal funds for neither at the time. Fuck.  :-\

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg269.imageshack.us%2Fimg269%2F97%2F2012012422403993.jpg&hash=6ab736362e50306cb4862b829bce40f2)
This just about rounds out the rest of the guides. Got them all really cheaply from the amazon marketplace, especially the unauthorized SotN one ($1). I may start trying to get all of the unauthorized Symphony guides, since they're dirt cheap and hilariously ugly. Just a crazy curiosity to me.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg830.imageshack.us%2Fimg830%2F1293%2F20120124224051606.jpg&hash=692236e428a2d5b00de1e6dd78467dd1)
Please note the Nintendo Power Issue #2 in the bottom corner, in shitty condition. I found this in a chest with a bunch of old gaming mags when my dad was selling his house. I just wish I could go back in time and kick my little ass before I stuck stickers all over the damn thing. The cover page is barely attached, too. I'm kind of embarrassed to show this thing, actually.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg507.imageshack.us%2Fimg507%2F4611%2F20120124224153702.jpg&hash=eb9bc0860fc6c3f4dd858a24591df58c)
My Castlevania II Famicom discs are probably my favorite things in my collection (mostly because of the cards). I got both of these from the same seller on ebay, one after another...I was hoping he had all 6 cards, but he stopped selling any more after I bought the two.  :-\ The FDS packages are awesome...probably my favorite game packaging, with the little manuals, jewel case, etc. And the Akumajo Dracula Perfect guide is probably my second favorite. The tiny guides are just awesome.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg809.imageshack.us%2Fimg809%2F5769%2F20120124224231679.jpg&hash=bc4570c3e86c5d33a685e0ce600ee8bc)
My copy of Rondo (with obi!! lolz) is probably the item I paid the most for. I shudder to think what I'll have to put down to get SNES Dracula X.  :'(

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg195.imageshack.us%2Fimg195%2F4062%2F20120124224249546.jpg&hash=12f7c874de7cb4aee8ea7d859f6c4381)
I never had even thought of looking for the Vs. arcade marquee until I saw Crisis' collection.  :-[ This is another one of my favorites, especially since I have a weak spot for arcade games...might even pick up a Double Dragon marquee down the road...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg208.imageshack.us%2Fimg208%2F5545%2F20120124223627164.jpg&hash=11289974f3389b5b22b6e129ab133620)
Boring figures.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg198.imageshack.us%2Fimg198%2F9288%2F2012012422365611.jpg&hash=661b53618e8278b814256f96cac8f556)
Wallscrolls in the computer room. I didn't even know there were any licensed ones until last year. Speaking of which...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg194.imageshack.us%2Fimg194%2F4083%2F20120124223738426.jpg&hash=0378e5238ca8c107bf74bb28a7a2bf28)
I only have the two on the sides up until some more official ones come out. These were bought when I didn't really think about the whole licensing thing (at least with wallscrolls) and didn't really know any better. I just wished Konami would license an official Chronicles scroll (like the one on the left), because it's one of my favorite pieces of art in the series, and I wouldn't have to cry when I end up taking the fake one down.  :P

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg580.imageshack.us%2Fimg580%2F7265%2F20120124224604320.jpg&hash=a8945c73ff804086b82ff44b09fa68c8)
I know it could be considered a bit pathetic to keep Castlevania clippings from old gaming mags (especially Gamepro), but awww, what the hell. I'm no Ashton Kutcher.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg838.imageshack.us%2Fimg838%2F458%2F20120124224701257.jpg&hash=3f140bacae3657eeba041d1e08dc1fe5)
If you want a badly-clipped Drac X ad, just ask!  :P

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg220.imageshack.us%2Fimg220%2F1741%2F20120124224628287.jpg&hash=be691380b43005b329a411a01d0dff2b)
Fear does have an address, and it's down on 50th street, where an old fat guy sits outside and paints his toenails after some light tumbling.  :D

...aaand that's it. I do have a few more things coming in the mail, which I may post when they get here.

Thanks, guys! The SotN ad is from either one of my old Gamepro or EGM magazines.

And I just thought to check my Nintendo Power magazines to see if I have that Dracula's Curse fold-out poster (Volume 14)...nope. Damn. Used to have it, but it's one of the few that disappeared.

Question for the experts:

I just received Lament of Innocence Limited Edition (not the Special Edition, mind you). The Castlevania lore says it comes with a Sonim poster but it doesn't appear to be included. I think that might be an error, and that the poster comes with the Special Edition, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm this?

edit: lol got the two mixed up

Sonim poster is early reservation bonus. It is not always attached to all limited editions.

Got some more Castlevania poop these last few months:

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg401.imageshack.us%2Fimg401%2F125%2F20120331141355775.jpg&hash=0b318a7487ebd757408c71e2e9463db6)
I finally got Vampire Killer...I've been wanting this one for a while now. And the regular 360 version of LoS was on sale when I was buying cables on Newegg, so I figured what the hell. I don't think I'll be buying any other versions of this game from here on, unless I find a Japanese version for a good price. Even still, I'm a bit hesitant to get any more LoS stuff because that's Paypal money I could've used toward the classic stuff. Or something.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg638.imageshack.us%2Fimg638%2F606%2F20120331141405197.jpg&hash=a5837d87d4e501fe1796e8c8b0d76476)
I love Japanese guides. I had to get the Dracula XX one because I've always loved the cover art. And I had to get the CV3 one because I love the game. I'm actually planning on finding a copy of the game soon. And then an AV Famicom down the road...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg441.imageshack.us%2Fimg441%2F5909%2F20120331141516393.jpg&hash=eb903c89624624bc3f0f944ac69ff237)
Some promotional stuff for LoS and Castlevania Arcade. I saw both of these for cheap on ebay and decided to get them. And the glare wins once again.

...and here's something that came with my copy of Vampire Killer:

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg822.imageshack.us%2Fimg822%2F7740%2F20120331141628909.jpg&hash=44d9cf7ed4817442dd45202e1a4db3a7)

...and the back:

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg812.imageshack.us%2Fimg812%2F3199%2F20120331141638222.jpg&hash=ccbab1f769ad5583752f44932f45237e)

I have no idea what this is. The seller kind of just nonchalantly included this in the pictures and said nothing about it in the item description. I tried Googling this several times before the item arrived and couldn't find a damn thing. Anyone have any clue?? I may just have to ask the seller and see what the story behind this card is.

(Also, I didn't know what the hell I AM THE MEIJIN means, but I am totally using that as my custom title.)

EDIT: Fixed the orientation of a few of these. Imageshack is screwy like that, I guess?

Also, I saw a sealed cardboard promotional display of Legacy of Darkness on ebay that I bid on, but it ended up selling for like $150. I didn't have enough paypal funds to bid any higher. Man, that one hurt.  :-\

some of these collections are quite breathtaking. and its too bad that i wasnt on here more when the varda house ran into some hard times i sold a copy of drac X in pretty decent shape to a game store for like 30 bucks lol. sadly i do not have the sorts of things in this thread, and i am still damn jealous of those statues!

Got my LoI promo version! It was a lot rarer than the ten thousand CoD promos you could find on ebay.

I e-mailed the seller about that card I posted about earlier, and I still haven't received a response. It's been a week, so I don't think I'll hear back.  :-\

I'm positive that card didn't come with Vampire Killer (because I'm assuming there would be some kind of info on it SOMEWHERE), but now I'm just curious where it came from to begin with.

Nice ^

Question, why do people buy doubles of games? In case one stops working? I would only ever do that with a system, say my 10 plus year old PS2, hopefully I'll get a spare slim one in the future, just in case.

I think those double games are versions from different regions (PAL and US).

Haven't posted anything new in a while. I just got settled into the house my girlfriend and I just bought, so I figured I'd take some more pics. Here's what I've picked up since last time:

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg545%2F6882%2F20121222222529467.jpg&hash=b6d3743c2051149f631cec8a6918c935)

Whew...finally collected all 6 of the Dracula II cards! I absolutely love these.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg716%2F1521%2F20121222222512883.jpg&hash=45252663ed3dd043cc11647c90c12207)

This is something I was surprised to see. Kinda wish I had a floppy drive just to see how bad this port really was.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg94%2F3027%2F2012122222241263.jpg&hash=929544825e6514a7c6ebf43164a5f61d)

I'd never seen a Haunted Castle manual like this one before...maybe the EU manual? It came with a branded card in German.

I also have the Megadrive Fan issue with Bloodlines featured on the cover. Was kind of excited to see this, until I realized the magazine only did a 2-page preview of the game. Bleh.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg405%2F40%2F20121222221638205.jpg&hash=203a7fd262434235aaa484b4c75d8844)

I just picked this one up from being custom framed, along with another poster and 2 arcade marquees. Aaaaand I'm never doing that again...they look really nice, but it costs WAY too much. Next time I buy some posters, I think I'll just buy some pre-packaged frames and use some matting with it, or something.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg837%2F1461%2F2012122222163040.jpg&hash=abad3054557e5c9746d98485afa3b29f)

The other poster. I kind of doubt its authenticity, though, because the seller re-listed another one immediately after I bought this one, and it was in perfect condition, too. Oh well. It at least looks cool hanging in the basement if nothing else.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg43%2F4826%2F20121222221559823.jpg&hash=8b41f63ebf39f4735218e52acd87733c)

Here are the two marquees that were also framed, along with some flyers I had. The previous owner of the Haunted Castle marquee cut the top of it pretty badly...probably to fit it in another machine. Can't really tell with the framing, though.

(BTW, how's that for ugly wall paneling? It's a big square near the closet in the basement. It was so trippy-looking and weird that I had to keep it. The vomit-red shag carpet had to go, though.)

More to come...

The Haunted Castle operator's manual looks like the one on this page: http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals/manuals_videogame.php. (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals/manuals_videogame.php.) Game had both an instruction manual and an operator's manual. The latter being in Japanese and English so it was probably shipped all over the world. What does the small sticker at the bottom say (is it the German card you mention)?
Title: Re: Castlevania collection
Post by: JR on December 24, 2012, 03:18:25 AM
The card says, "Auf der Suche nach Dracula in einem verhexten schloss"

I had to laugh when I used google translate for this, just because of its simplicity. Translates to, "In Search of Dracula in a haunted castle." Kinda surprised I didn't check that out previously.

Personally I like the Japanese horizontal-styled boxart of HoD (and Japanese GBA boxes in general) more than the American one; even though it's the same image, it just appears more vibrant and shows off Ayami's artwork in greater detail:

Hugs and Kisses aside... They actually mean:
Plays in
gameboy advance O (means yes, O is the checkmark in Japan)
gameboy color X (means no)
gameboy x
super gameboy x

Wow...it's been a long time since I've updated. I've slowed down quite a bit on my collection, mostly because of getting burned out with doing surveys for a while meant that I had no Paypal funds to spend. But I'm getting back into it again...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg62%2F1402%2F20130112210431150.jpg&hash=53b031e460963facce64693e668147de)

I've been waiting for this one for a long, long time. I've always gravitated toward Dracula II stuff, and this is no different. I just like the oddity of this cover. The art style looks better suited for an old Disney movie than it does a Castlevania game.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg824%2F6140%2F20130112210233808.jpg&hash=0b27f2ea0f3edd06c72196065e6ebdad)

A collector's card featuring the artwork found on a Nintendo Power fold-out poster. This thing cost me like $5 total, so I couldn't pass it up. And here's the back of the card:
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg708%2F8295%2F20130112210315951.jpg&hash=543eaa8d09ed0bd848b40bb390ad5893)

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg600%2F5301%2F20130112210153685.jpg&hash=c53581e579edd95d6ff8b065df226f66)

I guess this is a Vidpro card that was used by game stores to represent titles they had in stock. I find it quite nifty.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg443%2F2862%2F20130606032333614.jpg&hash=803a15fba635a32fb2a1906d7978f990)

At long last. This is another item that I've been wanting for a while. I never thought I'd actually own this one day, but the price seemed reasonable compared to others I've seen. Paid quite a bit overall, but I think I lucked out on this nonetheless. EDIT: Damn upside down pictures. Well, I'm not fixing it!  >:(

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg819%2F1554%2F20130606032357658.jpg&hash=6085cc7c1042637d39a3d155843ffe3f)

I found the Simon and Dracula variants online for a decent price. At the NECA eBay store, no less (I never even knew it existed!). And as a bonus, these ones don't have a thin coat of kitchen grease on the outside of the packaging. Oh, the horrors of living in my old apartment. I still have to find a way to clean those other ones off one of these days...

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg856%2F9793%2F20130606032459680.jpg&hash=0321f2021ae5a1f6d227f65f5bd79c0a)

Got another promo poster. Didn't even bother with custom framing this time because it's way too expensive. It's centered, so it doesn't look too bad.

Also, inexplicably, the seller threw in this poster for free:

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg823%2F4121%2F20130606032518837.jpg&hash=492a5f9447c4e827084ee3f87661d80a)

Both were the same size, so I put this on the staircase wall, opposite the DXC poster.

(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg826%2F1909%2F20130606032422680.jpg&hash=2be56ffcef8e2b013a97ca17bc741940)

Here's a shot of everything, minus the stuff I hung on the wall and the magazine ads. I also included a few custom items. I now have two copies of Super Famicom Akumajo Dracula, only because it was being sold with one of the guide books I wanted.

I'm still in queue at Arcade Gear for the Haunted Castle VHS playthrough tape...I hope I hear from them soon. Has anyone checked out that site? I highly recommend it to anyone looking for Japanese items, CV or otherwise. I've only bought one item there so far, but it was an excellent experience.

Whew, it's been a while since I posted anything here. I haven't really picked up many CV items, since I've really been concentrating on my game room downstairs (which I may post pics in another thread someday, if anyone is interested...a whole lot of work went into it for the past 2 years). A few of these may be repeats of things I've shown before, since I can't remember when I picked up a few of the items I'm showing.

Ready? O-K.

This is actually the last picture I took, since I forgot to include it with everything else. I finally got a real copy of this, since I unwittingly bought an Ever Anime counterfeit copy years ago.

I bought these from an ebay auction, I believe it was from a seller on a fundraiser site. They were selling a bunch of these that Dave Cox signed, and for cheap, so I figured what the hell. I bought some generic frames and had some custom matting put into them. Now they're on the stairs going down to the basement, and my aforementioned game room.

I bought this monster from Konami's online store...I think it was only $8 (they threw in the socks too  :P ). I don't think I'll ever frame it though, because 1) I already have a bunch of Castlevania stuff on the game room walls, 2) A custom frame job for a big, odd-dimensioned poster like this would be crazy expensive, and 3) The blacks are really washed out on this print. It would be a great poster to display, but I'm just not willing to spend the money for the frame anytime soon.

I bought a shadowbox at Hobby Lobby to display some of my stuff. I'm kind of embarrassed with how it turned out. Some small shelves would be ideal for the items inside, but I had to do it with pushpins for now, which makes me a little nervous. The "choose-your-own-adventure" book in the middle was one of the most recent items I bought.

Some assorted stuff. I don't even remember buying a JP copy of Legends. I was just looking at some the other day online. The book in the top middle was thrown in with the choose your adventure book from earlier. So was a Judgment book that I have and forgot to include in the picture, but nobody really cares about Judgment anyway, so meh. And I finally replaced the chewed-up copy of Nintendo Power #2 I've had all these years.

That map that Bill Muldron did a while ago. One of my favorite unofficial CV items. That, and the Nintendo Power cover. Both for completely different reasons (the NP cover being a trainwreck of fantastic proportions, both for the game and for Nintendo).

Definitely. It seems like a pretty good print, and I think it's 24x36 so it's easy to find a frame for it. One of my favorite things in my game room...that, and the neon lights.  :D

Where they sell a map like that?

Bill Mudron's site:

http://mudron.bigcartel.com/ (http://mudron.bigcartel.com/)

He's got some other interesting posters, like the Zelda ones. Another cool site is Fro Design Co., the place where they have Mario propaganda posters...I bought the Boo House one. Took me forever to get...there was a shipping problem, but they made sure I got it.

Thanks JR, I've never been interested in posters because I never had a proper place for them, but this map is so cool, I will try to get one.

Taeyang Doll as Gackt from Miserable (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php/topic,6565.msg144539.html#msg144539) <--- I won't necro the original thread. hehe
It is a limited run doll with only 1000 pieces made and was only sold initially at Shibuya Parco.
Its original price is at 31,500 yen.

I BOUGHT IT for only 12,000 yen at Akihabara! OMG. Unopened box, mint condition.
The price changed several times as evidenced by the additional price stickers on the outer extra plastic wrapping. The original price the shop was asking for was at 59,000+ yen. It seems that no one was buying and the location of the doll in the store was kinda hidden.

I was so lucky on this recent trip to Japan. Mwahaha! I ain't opening that box.  ;D

Hey, can anyone who currently owns a CIB copy of Konami Wai Wai World 2 do me a huge favor and scan me some high-res shots of the front and back cover? I recently got a cart-only copy for a good price and want to make a custom cover for a blank clamshell case, but can't find any high quality images.

Please and thank you.

Here is my extremely modest Castlevania collection!!!

As you can see it is quite small and not very "professional" like the others but I am very happy with it and I play those games quite often :)

My very own collection of various games/items.
RKS/RKSF being fan made/homebrew games and the currently existing units are very rare; The PS1 Castlevania Chronicles guide is always rare since the day I knew it and it's my favorite game of all time...then I bear some pain and ordered it. Then everything were set.

Just got Portrait of Ruin with case and Instruction booklet. Also ordered Dawn of Sorrow with Case and Instruction booklet. So happy.

Now I have 2 DoS cartridges and 2 PoR cartridges :D

Now I need to find Aria of Sorrow on separate cartridge because I only have the Double pack :)

That may be a rare and pricey exercise.

I've got sealed copies of OOE, POR, DOS, LOI (German version), CoD (PS2) and two SCVIV carts. The rest I wouldn't consider for sale!

I saw that on ebay ;( AoS is really expensive. And I am not looking for one with the box. I do not like the GBA boxes very much. I prefer the plastic DS cases (the European ones) because they are better and they also got GBA slot as well :)

Ordered Mega Man X5 and other pieces of PS1-era stuff...

I do have the Saturn version of SOTN, which is my prized SS game next to Guardian Heroes. It may be the one game I'd be willing to sell down the track, but I don't really want to part with it.

Still got a brand new sealed copy of LOS2 that I don't ever think I'll end up playing.

I just realized recently I don't have a copy of Castlevania: Legends. I thought I did, so either I never got it or somehow it's been... misplaced. Whatever the case, it's stoopid expensive to replace such a bad game so that might just be a gap in my collection, sadly.

Having been making sure to get every physical release of the Bloodstained series, though.

Same here for the Richter Amiibo. I haven't bought anything Castlevania-related for a while, other than the digital collection releases.

I did get a top-lit glass display case, though. Found it at work on one of the trash docks, ready to be tossed. I think it was used in the gift shop at some point. Anyway, I'm in the process of replacing the missing shelves and painting over the marquee on it (it currently says "Country Artists" at the top, so my wife is going to black it out and paint some sprite stuff over it). Just bought a bunch of display stands for my CV books, CDs, games, etc., to go into it. I'll post a pic once it's done.

How strange, I believe I have all CV pops minus Dracula. He may be in another ‘pile’ of pops as I only tend to purchase them on sale.

I only collect Zelda and Metroid Amiibos, mainly for resale but also because the Baby Metroid is probably the best & most useful standard Amiibo (provide fusion mode for Samus returns) thus far.

I was limited on space, so I just put my favorite and most noteworthy stuff in there. My wife painted the marquee.

I've actually been doing a lot of stuff to my basement lately. My wife is painting a Ms. Pacman design on one of our wall spaces, I got three Arcade 1up machines (Ms. Pacman, Killer Instinct, and the Street Fighter "Big Blue" machine) and a Neo Geo MVSX, and I sprung for some color changing wifi light bulbs. Lots of changes!

That's an impressive collection.

I think the rarest thing I own from that collection is the Portrait of Ruin pre-order bonus pack that's shown here on the bottom shelf. I also remember buying Castlevania Chronicles on launch, and I still have it complete, while I have lost or misplaced many of my other Castlevania games over the years.

Wow, that's a pretty stellar collection, and it's all displayed nicely too!  How long ago did you buy the first item in your CV collection?

I would like to post photos of my collection here, but photos of tote bins are boring.  Back when I was actively collecting, I just figured I would have some nice display cases like yours in my game room some day.  But I finally got my game room about three years ago, and I had to make some compromises due to space limitations.  So I don't have room for a display case, thus my CV goodies all living in totes.  I've also stopped collecting for the most part, because I just don't have any more room, and I have no desire to move to a bigger house.
Title: Re: Castlevania collection
Post by: JR on November 27, 2022, 07:41:38 PM
Hmm, that's a tough one. If we're counting anything with Castlevania on it, I would say Issue 2 of Nintendo Power. As far as the first thing I bought specifically for collecting purposes, probably the CD soundtrack of the first three games (not pictured).

I know what you mean about space limitations. My wife and I just got rid of a couch in the basement to make way for some more stuff, same with a table that was down here. Everything is pretty crammed right now, lol. The finished part of the basement is easily the biggest room of the house, but the total square footage of the house itself is pretty small, about 900 sq ft if I remember correctly.
