It is impressive that it can work in real life but not quite like what we've seen in the series.

Neat! The whip in the first video works much better than I would have thought.

So yeah, if a mofo uses a chain whip in real combat, that there is a badass.

So, definitely not a weapon you'd see frequently (or even uncommonly) used, but I think we can call the Vampire Killer at least "Plausible" in ye olde Mythbusters parlance, and it would probably be a truly DEVASTATING weapon in the hands of someone who was well trained with it. The sheer skill, strength, dexterity, and technique required to use this thing effectively would probably contribute to the Belmont's legend in-universe all on its own, and the rarity of such a weapon would make a Belmont really stand apart from the crowd as soon as they pulled it out.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Nice find. So, a chain whip would could be totally doable.
