Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Yes, I plan to do a remake of this game, but like a lot of people that already tried, I can fail at doing that, so here are my ideas and thoughts.
Why Simon's doesnt use the VK whip since the beggining? Why he need to use all these shitty whips if he is a experienced vampire hunter? Why he needs to gather all sub-weapons again and they are so weak at the start? What is the curse after all and why Dracula never used it again in a Belmont if thats so effective? Who's the misty girl and why he knews about Simon's situation even before him? Why Dracula's body is scattered all over the place like that? Why huge mansions if there is no important human or Vampire living in it? Simon is the first Belmont to use a flame whip right? So where the flame whip technique came?
I plan to answer almost all these questions in my own way, even if it sounds absurd and totally fanon (its a fangame after all, so it is fanon anyway unless you stick totally to the original material, which would like more like a remaster than a fan remake).
I plan to give each mansion to a powerful vampire, Carmilla, Olrox, Elizabeth Bartley (yes, the original, not the reincarnation, so no drolta involved, maybe a ancestor) and maybe some another big like Jiang Shi. It needs to be a powerful vampire that dont acts like a wild animal wanting blood or souls. I plan to give a abandoned mansion to Death if needed, maybe he killed the boss before you, who knows.
I plan to make the misty girl be Laura (I warned that stupid looking things could be said be me), he is not bad nor a monster yet, he knew about the curse because someone else said it to her, this someone else will be in the game.
Since I like mystery games, I plan to involve a plot where some vampires plan to overthrow Dracula reign while others wanna bring him back, in the middle will be the ones that want to bring him back in secret, only pretending to be helping this new mastermind.
The flame whip will be a technique imbued in the Vampire Killer, it will be like a bonus for freeing yourself from Dracula's curse with your own strength and before setting their body parts in fire, after all...
Its a trick! The same person that warned Laura about the curse, wants to bring Dracula back, this person plans to make Simon's body in the new Dracula vessel, since this person knews that Dracula's relics could corrupt people souls/hearts, and tha Simon in the current state could be vulnerable.
In the worst ending Dracula consumes your soul, control totally your body and use it to regain his strength and revive completely with the blood of everyone he finds in his way. Without Simon to protect his world, Dracula wins the game.
This will enable a bonus mode (totally for fun, not related), where TA-DAM!
Konami man will sense that something is really wrong in the fabric of the CV universe and will travel to discover whats happening, this side-story will happen following the worst ending scenario. Maybe his sub-weapons can be some classic Konami chars, maybe it can be even Kid Dracula that warned Konami man that the future was being affected lol
Since its a side-story, you will only interact with it in the bonus mode and only a warning like "You unlocked a bonus mode" would appear after the credits. Also I plan to make Konami man a very secret boss, if you win he will tell that you are being tricked be someone and give you some item, maybe a retro outfit lol
I should explain more things (yes, I have more!) or this would be a bad thing? If you check some question, I've some answers to give yet.
edit: I expect to not be robbing some ideas from KaZ or someone else, I dont plan to disrespect anyone.
