"COOL Combination Attacks

After you start attacking, if you press the attack button again with good timing, both of your character’s hands will glow blue and transition into what’s known as “COOL Combo Attack Mode.” In this state, not only are characters faster, but they can also string together attacks that are stronger than what they can normally pull off. Nail the timing and get things down to a rhythm and you’ll be well on your way to having as wonderfully visceral a time as one can have!

Should you manage to land a whole combo string as COOL Combo Attacks, you’ll pull off a special hidden move at the end and which one you get will change depending on the combo you use. The satisfaction you’ll gain when you can pull off series of COOL Combo Attacks over and over again without breaking a sweat is sure to be second to none! Plus, when you that special extra move is triggered at the end, your weapons will automatically reload themselves, too!

Ultimate Combos

The fun doesn’t have to stop with COOL Combo Attacks, though! Get in a series of Cool Combo Attacks that are made up of weak attacks and if you can then swap out characters in the middle of the final special attack with good timing, the new character will add on to the special attack with their own moves. You can do this up to three times, making it possible to bring in all four girls and wreak some real havoc if you’ve got the skill for it!

Ecstasy Combos

Ecstasy Combos are a super strong skill that can be triggered after meting out damage to enemies and building up the Ecstasy Gauge. Although the gauge will continuously drop as time goes on once Ecstasy Combos are activated, in exchange, they get stronger the lower the meter gets! Use it when you’ve got a great opening for it and you could very well turn the tide of battle!

Pursuing Enemies

Whether it’s toward an enemy you’ve got locked on or someone else that’s facing you, the girls in this game can now jump around the battlefield at great speeds. The fastest way to get get around in the game, jumping lets you get around wide open combat arenas in the blink of an eye. What’s more, you can still move around even while juggling enemies in the air, letting you pull off combos in midair. Truly, this is a game where speediness and brute force are one and the same."

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is coming to PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe via publisher XSEED Games, the company announced.

In North America, the game will be available both digitally and physically via a limited run “Banana Split” retail release, which will include a soundtrack CD, softcover art book featuring art book from this game and its Japan-only predecessor, and a free code to download the ‘Strawberries & Bananas’ premium costume.

In Europe, NIS America will publish the game. More details regarding the European release will be provided at a later date.

The latest iteration of the Onechanbara sexy zombie slayer series ups the ante with two sets of buxom vampire sisters and over a dozen stages of high-octane real-time swordplay featuring hordes of zombies—not to mention wildly inventive methods for dispatching these undead opponents. Players will square off against the undead in various worldwide locations, with limbs and blood flying every which way by means of physical attacks and acrobatic maneuvers alike, occasionally transforming into a demon for short bursts of added power and speed at the cost of life energy. Each of the four members of the so-called “bikini zombie squad” has her own unique abilities, and skillful play is rewarded with orbs that can be exchanged for upgraded weapons and outfits.

For the first time in the series,

players can enjoy the game with full English voice-acting or play through with the original Japanese performances

Also content that was DLC in the previous games is now included

some examples of unlockables

2 sling swimsuits for beating Story Mode on Medium.
2 sailor schoolgirl outfits for beating Story Mode on Hard.
2 afros for doing the first part of the No Damage quest.
2 of the Dream Club outfits (Bloody Saaya) for doing the second part of the No Damage quest.
2 of the Dream Club outfits (Mainyuu Kagura) for doing the third part of the No Damage quest.

Was all DLC from the previous game. there are also accessories

Also you don't need to play the previous one to understand the story of this one. While Z2 Chaos take place right
after Z Kagura, Z2 Chaos has its own complete adventure and story to tell (it's kind of like you don't need to play
Street Fighter 1 to understand Street Fighter 2's story.)

Z Kagura is now outdated compared to Z2 Chaos that raises the gameplay standards, so it's understandable not localizing the previous ones, besides Z Kagura and its special edition, still required purchasing Aya and Saki as DLC to use them,  so Z2 Chaos is worlds better having them all included plus everything updated, including moves, combat system, everything has been polished for this new generation of Onechanbara.

It's releasing next week.    ;D

Here's a quick history of Onechanbara, it's really been around since 2004!!
While this one doesn't have co-op, I'll play Phantom Breaker for the co-op, and Onechanbara
for the single player content (mostly mission mode, the story mode seems like its scripted to
have certain characters available, which is tame if they split up often,
it should be team of 4 the whole way, but I think at least Mission mode will probably allow all 4 members for all those missions).

LOL, there's a double-meaning to this isn't there. *-*;

I actually pre-ordered the Strawberries & Banana special edition to this, for the artbook, soundtrack, and physical copy.

I wanna say I did for those DLC costumes but... to be honest, they're really not sexy like they're supposed to be. They just look REALLY dumb.

For a single player game, Onechanbara Z2 Chaos exceeds expectations.

I just beat it on Medium (had to use healing items on multiple occasions), and the shop still has tons
of moves, combos, and weapons/secondary weapons to unlock!!

the combat is PHENOMENOL!!!!!  (greatest chainsaw gameplay ever too!!)
So fluid and so much options with a single character, and multiply that with 4
and things can really redefine over the top!!   And it really is smooth despite all the hordes of enemies, the 60 fps
is really solid.    And there are more options in settings like inverting camera directions, closer camera and more.

there's lots of positive reactions found here and there.

http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1082750

Overall the metacritic really underrates it, but
at least it seems to be earning a cult/niche fanbase, and getting the biggest fanbase the series ever gotten in the west.

Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised with this game. After the mediocre games Tamsoft has put out before with this series, they've really learned and made this one really really fun. XSEED did a damn good job on the localization, too. The English voice acting is actually pretty good. I like it.

There y'all have it. An Onechanbara game actually worth playing.

I was mulling on the PlayStation store for a good hour on whether or not to buy this game. Reading what you guys have said here now has made me decide that I will download it.

it's better than I thought!!!!  the combat alone is worth playing it for!!   Yes, the english VAs and characters are so great, and I like the variety of locations and some of the nonlinearity a part of the story added.   Unlocking missions now, but the orb shop still has lots of things to unlock.    this is the undisputed greatest Onechanbara ever, despite
not having co-op.  Also the cross merge combination readys up more often than I thought, which is great, because self co-op with the 3 other teammates is really awesome unique experience that action games normally don't have.

And I like how it functions because the teammates are aggressive as you are, so you have control over their actions
and it's strategy in itself putting Cross Merge Combination to expert use, along with a lot of other fighting mechanics.
this would've been 4 times better with online co-op but I guess they really wanted to get the combat and single player done right first.   Perhaps a sequel will add 4 players co-op, and PS4 has the hardware to handle co-op at 60 fps.

Z2 Chaos really sets the foundation for standard new gen Onechanbara.

I wouldn't say hard to please, really. Despite the fact that the old games weren't that great, I still played them through. I even purchased Bikini Samurai Squad on 360 a few months ago when it was on sale. It's just that I'm honest about it. They weren't that great of games. This game did a complete 180 on that though.

But hard to please? Neh. After all, every time Omega Force puts out a new Warriors title, I buy it, regardless of what it is, lol. They could make a Warriors game about Sleeping Dogs and I'd buy it. And heck, I even thoroughly enjoyed the LoS games even though LoS2 was a huge letdown.

I need it.

For... reasons. Two of them. Possibly more.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
