Dracula is immensely gifted. From a young age, the Prince obsessively consumed the books in this library, quickly mastering any subject he took interest in.



Dracula mastered the Devil’s Alchemy on his own, before ever setting foot in Scholomance. He inherited this library, which contains many ancient tomes regarding the craft.



Dracula is most unsettled by a wise opponent. He has no fear for the strength of others, but he takes a wise opponent very seriously.



The Lich is an undead being that thirsts endlessly for knowledge. They are grandmasters of Witchcraft, harnessing terrible magic that can only be attained by those with several lifetimes worth of study.

Treasury is one of my favorite environments in that game, which is why I wanted to construct my own version. I also liked the idea of a treasury level because of what Harker said about Castle Dracula in the book, describing being surrounded by immense wealth:

When I had done, I looked for a bell, so that I might let the servants know I had finished; but I could not find one. There are certainly odd deficiencies in the house, considering the extraordinary evidences of wealth which are round me. The table service is of gold, and so beautifully wrought that it must be of immense value. The curtains and upholstery of the chairs and sofas and the hangings of my bed are of the costliest and most beautiful fabrics, and must have been of fabulous value when they were made, for they are centuries old, though in excellent order.

I fucking love that you used the term "Scholomance". I've been delving more into Romanian folklore lately and this is a delightful piece.


I own this game and still need to play it. With all the free time I don't have, of course.

Carpathian Night Starring Bela Lugosi



We are excited to announce that the legendary stage and film actor, and classic horror star, Bela Lugosi, will be making his long overdue video game debut in Carpathian Night Starring Bela Lugosi.



Bela will reprise his iconic role as Dracula, Lord of the Vampires, and will wield the night itself against any who dare to trespass into his domain! Players must reach the top of Castle Dracula to challenge the classic horror icon himself, but his Army of the Dead stands between you and the gates to the ancient castle.   



Tezcatek is working together with Lynne Lugosi Sparks and Lugosi Enterprises to bring this project to life. Bela Lugosi’s impact on the horror genre spans all forms of media, including video games. From the very beginning, Carpathian Night was designed as a tribute to the classic era of horror cinema, and Bela is among its greatest icons. Tezcatek is honored to bring Bela Lugosi into the video game realm for the first time in an officially licensed release, in a style of game that has long been associated with the horror classics.
