Well, it's typical Fuckonami. I thought they'd come back with Bomberman game, but no. I was so wrong.
At least it's not based off AoS or SotN. That would blow me off.

Agreed. It's also somewhat disconcerning to see the original timeline Succubus there though. I wondr who the blonde haired archer Brotherhood lady is. This just looks so bad.

When I saw the archer girl, I couldn't help but think "Sonia Belmont!!!" Of course she's using a bow, but if Alucard can use a whip in LoS, no reason Sonia couldn't use a bow. Recast her as a member of the brotherhood (sisterhood?) of light? Haha.
Another thought was that this was a Japanese take on a western take on a Japanese game that was a take on a mostly Western lore.
And no, Castlevania is not only a pachislot series now. It's a normal slot game series too haha.

The character design contrast between the severely westernized Gabriel and Patrick Stewart Guy next to the animu waifu designs of the Succubus and Gabriel's new female sidekick is killing me.
I mean yeah the previous Pachislots were bad, but it wasn't "Yeah guys we're totally not mashing completely different art assets together" bad.

Just as a reminder: The most recent Pachi game was an adaptation of RoB and the next game logically should have been the dreaded Pachislot SOTN. It would have ruined the staple game of the entire modern franchise.
So maybe Konami actually has a little bit of a soul after all?

I no longer believe that Konami has a shred of soul left. They might still do PachiSotn in the future. I would dread that day.

I remember when they were rumours they were going to develop a Lords of Shadow game in Japan. I wonder if such game would feature the same kind of dissonance as this pachislot.

Eh. Agree to disagree. But while Lords 2 is an outstandingly visible extreme, the historical basis is that "bad" Castlevanias haven't really tended to be that bad. So I will shrug.

The irony of a LoS pachislot having classic songs when LoS only had super heavy orchestral arrangements and most of them were barely recognizable from the originals.

A shame they didn't remix a few tracks from LoS! (Belmont's Theme, Waterfalls, Final Battle, Hunting Path, The Warg, etc.)

It's really strange how even something so fundamentally bad like these pachislot games have one or two good things in it, like the re-arrangements, new songs and yes, the Combat Cross. I actually like that weapon, even though I think the rest of Lords of Shadows is massive schlock.

Well, it has Gabriel dying in it, so by that virtue alone, it is already better than LoS.
