This one I've been wanting to do for a long time now. It'll actually appear on my project for sure. I just screwed up a little on the interpretation of the creature, but I'll probably revisit it later to add a detail that I forgot.

My first full go at the crouch attack, I think I might mess around with the shading a bit later but wondered what you guys thought of the animation.
Feedback is appreciated.
(before anyone points it out: yes I have yet to shade the 'inside' of the cape + his hand)

I love it, the entire concept is really nice. Do you have any attack patterns in mind yet?
Only downside I see is that this must be a real pain to animate though.

Yes I have some in mind, including trying to bite the player and jumping above him in an arc while fireballs rain down. Pretty standard stuff.

For a sprite such as this, either having the texture applied to a 3D object, or dividing it in segments would be needed. For me to animate the frames for the individual segments (head, body segment, fire piece) would be piss easy, but I have no idea how the engine or programmer would pull off the movements.

Are you using a standard engine or a custom one?

"No engine at all" would be more in line with what is happening  ;D

I think this should be the "final" version of the crouch attack

So I had two ideas as to how about to deal with the bat transformation, the oldschool mist transform or the newer bat style,  I decided to try both:

I'm still working on a palette for the mist and I will probably add some more frames but what do you guys think?
