But yeah if I can find all my plugins and stuff I could probably grab the cv3 sounds while I am at it.

Super old, but did you ever rip the CV3 sounds?

I guess I'm going to be the odd man out here. I enjoyed it. But I also came late to the party when it came to James Rolfe's career. I prefer his low-wattage approach towards content as opposed to the obnoxious AVGN character that he built his channel on.

That said, I don't agree with all of his conclusions on the CV games. Though I do enjoy Richter in SotN and sometimes find him more fun than Alucard. With all the item collecting and exploration, I find myself rarely using much of any of it.

New air dash action stance made by one of our comrades! He's like a hero that he volunteered to revamp most of action animations outta there. More unique action stances means more polish are in the care to the game's reworking.

General Castlevania Discussion / Re: Castlevania ReBirth for newbies
« Last post by Eric Roman on June 27, 2024, 01:33:20 PM »
I thought it was interesting how Konami decided to remaster their Game Boy launch titles for WiiWare (I thoroughly enjoyed Nemesis/Gradius ReBirth), but using the soundtable from Arcade Super C to render misplaced covers of known CV songs was just...ugh by my late 2000s expectations; probably an indication this wasn't exactly for me as I'd come to expect better/fresher compositionally--perhaps I missed the point.

Maybe this was aimed at the set for whom the Wii was their earliest gaming experience, as Adventure was for me on Game Boy.

Also, I didn't get to owning a Wii (since the authenticity of the Virtual Console turned out to be dealbreaking falsehood) so I didn't get a chance to play ReBirth enough to learn to love it.  As I recall it did pull off some interesting things with the source material, however.

I just got a Wii and was wondering if there's any "official" way I can get to play Rebirth?

We had a chance to redo the character mugshot graphics where the original edition was having problems with them (in original, they were cropped instead of properly sprited)

But I shouldn't grind my comrade in this case because he has his own life schedules.

If any of you guys could do very large mugshot sprites, allocate me for more details.

It’s both incredibly dumb & hilarious that the devs decided to call the city in Lords of Shadow 2 “Castlevania City”

like, what lol. It’s not even a clever play on words. Imagine if IGA named the town in OoE “Belmont Village”

Yeah, he seems to be phoning it in at this point.

As much as I hate to say it, I think people are correct when they say Mike Matei was more of a driving force of the channel than people realized.
