Perhaps this is only me, however, I seem to recall believing the narrative of Lisa’s murder was largely to do with Dracula himself, rather than the public genuinely believing that Lisa was indeed a witch. Think of it as a scapegoat excuse due to her affiliations and affections with the not-so-good Count.. The irony is that Lisa’s life being cut short and lasting impression & love for both humanity and her family, may have saved Mathias’ soul, as implied by many who have examined the nature of Dracula’s appearances, specifically following SOTN.

‘Yes’ I like it. The characters are not as memorable as Castlevania and the game itself is not as original, nor is it as good.

Admittedly I'd like it less if Konami had kept Castlevania going, but that's not the world we live in.
And Bloodstained has been quite an able successor in both Classicvania and Metroidvania formats, so I'm quite happy.
