Topic: June 2018 Castlevania Dungeon Sprite Contest

Contest Details

Deadline for submissions: June 28th (11:59 PM PST)
Judgement: by tribunal from July 1st to 3rd at midnight and Winners announced after the poll is done.

Volunteer Judges:

Theme: Design Drinks (must not use the same drinks that were already in Castlevania games)
Prizes: Award medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Guidelines for Participants:
-Provide your sprite in 1x and 2x zoom at least
-Use only 16 colors (any color of your choice)
-Size is restricted to 32x32 pixels maximum
-Must have a write-up of the description of each drink submitted (can be funny/punny or just plain ol' serious)
-Contestants may update their entries freely before the submission deadline.
-You may withdraw any entry at any time before the judgement begins.

Guidelines for Judges:
-Judgement will use a point system.
-4 points awarded for your first place choice.
-2 points awarded for your second place choice.
-1 point for your third place choice.
-When posting your scores write up an explanation/critique of your judgement.
-Additional rounds of judgement will be used for tie breakers.
-Judges cannot participate in the contest.

theplottwist's Merman's Delight 1st Place
A popular drink in the underworld. The Merman blood mixed in gives it a bittersweet, acidic taste. The decorative eye is not really a Merman's, though.


Dracula9's Blood Dreg Keg 1st Place
A cask filled with the leftover blood from vampiric meals within the castle. Often given to the lowest-ranking creatures as a form of gift from their ever-generous master. This frequently leads to rather...interesting situations.

the favorite drink of dracula, for that time of leisure, waiting and without more to do, with a delicious flavor, dracula takes and love a refreshing coke, the spark of life jajaja

Even that ubiquitous coffee chain has a branch in Castlevania.

A cup of water, or rather, a poor drawing of some water with ice(?) upon closer inspection. You'd like to pretend that the coaster has pretty doily patterns in it.

I have a suggestion: There is one kind of enemy based on horror movies lacking on the Castlevania series: aliens. So, my suggestion is to design an alien enemy sprite.

It can be any style: 8-bit, 16-bit, look like it came from one of the Gameboy games. No matter. It just has to be an alien in a convincing Castlevania style.
