Hi guys!

My first post here.  :)

My name is Abdel, I'm from the 2ndBoss studio, and I'd like to introduce you to our new project under development: Darkest Abyss

The main idea is to follow the C3 and CotM line, we are not running away from the formula to keep the same gameplay feeling.

Some news about subweapons, like carrying two at the same time, being able to choose which one will be used at the moment you want. Among other things...

Here an alpha trailer:

And also the Steam page if you want to add to the wishlist:
https://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/1888880/

I plan to post the progress here and appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hay, welcome!

Your alpha trailer looks good. Never seen a giant horse as a boss before, so that's something new  :)

In my headcanon, it’s the ‘Dark Horse’ from Berserk… Those who know, know 😂

Or it could be a giant Night Mare.

Looks real good, I'm usually not as big on the classic titles but something about the CV3 formula just works.

It looks very impressive and the sprites are excellent. That said, this seems to be as much of a Curse of the Moon game as a classicvania...like I mentioned on Twitter, IMO it might be wise to edit the main girl's sprite so she doesn't resemble Miriam as much. Also the lifebar is pretty much just from CotM lol. Little things like that would make your game seem much more distinctive :D

I feel the character is distinctive enough from Miriam in my eyes. She actually looks more like one of those Mexican flamenco dancers.

I meant stuff like her sliding animation and crouching animation are ripped straight from CotM lol. See the position of their arm and leg here for instance: https://imgur.com/BGWaFw7

Yes, some things are very similar lol

I'm still going to redo some sprites, the walking cycle is also very similar, by the way.

The character design is based on Frida Kahlo, dress and hair detail, something like that. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Hi guys,

Some animation and hud tests. I followed the suggestion and exchanged the weapon for a saber with greater range.

Thanks for the feedbacks!

I see you've changed the HUD and her sliding animation to make it look more original and less derivative. Excellent work, I like this much better!
