Title: Why do the Belmonts powerwalk?
Post by: Crying Freeman on August 31, 2015, 08:01:39 AM
Why is it necessary? ;D

My theory is that a power walk is easier to animate than a simple arms moving by the side walk (similar to the reason Myamoto gave Mario a hat and mustache). Plus, it's an easy way to make the heroes look determined in their journey. So it was probably an easy way for the people working on the sprites to make a heroic and well animated move cycle for the mian characters.

Or they're constantly exorcising...*ahem* I mean exercising...in order to stay fit and strong so they can beat Dracula and all his minions.

The same reason as to why they carry a whip?

Because they're the most powerful, muthafuggin' badd@$$ vampire hunters to ever step all over Castlevania. And them some! they aren't afraid to show the world what they're made of so they let it all hang out. Daayyyuum  8)

Answer 2: Because the fate of the world literally hangs from their nuts. (Tis a heavy burden indeed)

Maybe because "Watch Me" (Whip/Nae Nae) hadn't been written yet? ;-P

Several reasons.

1. It's the Belmont Pimp Strut and it runs in the family.
2. The people are paying them money by the hour and so if they take longer it equals more money.
3. Why not?

When you have balls that big, you're bound to walk funny.

Sorry, but even this late into the game (literally months later) though they say I shouldn't reply as it is too sexy I retort "eh but I must".

To dove tail off of piecesdreams yes they have huge bolsh and when they are that big they are bound to get hit during whip crack training. That would make them even bigger and without the benefit of protective gear well just ask Adam Winrich how bad a whip welt would wound, wince city. That's the speed of sound on your Transilvanian speedbag. Plus its straight up Pimpalicious!!!!!!

 8) I dig that groovy power-walking tune, brothah!  8)

Seeing all of those clipped together (somehow) kinda reminded me of how Chihiro's dad walks through the tunnel at the beginning and end of Spirited Away.  (Sadly, I cannot find a clip of it to share...  :'( )

I believe a hasty walk is the most efficient way to get around for a quest.

Running in games like SOTN bothers me because no one runs everywhere they go (they'd be exhausted) and little turn around and small movements look silly when the character burst into a full run to move 5 or 10 ft for example.

But at the same time if you had to get the fuck out of the way of a boss attack or something, or falling spike trap, you wouldn't walk. So....

Honestly cv should have a double tap to run and power walk default IMO.

Because no one on an adventure would only use one of the two.
