Well, here's hoping that it's balanced better than Castlevania: Soma & Friends.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

HOD x Dragon's Crown in both graphics and art style.

It looks cool, but there's a certain sterility and coldness about it.

Build a new multiplayer castle crawler based on HoD from the ground up.

Still use tiny-ass ant people sprites with DS resolution.

(and hey, the blue fire girl kind of has Charlotte's design from that think I just posted)

That game looks pretty cool, hopefully it doesn't control as sluggishly as HoD does.

Wow, what a rip-off.
I am happy for the people who actually enjoyed HoD though. This must be right up their alley.

The game does cross the line between Castlevania inspired and chinese knockoff. Also that middle of 2017 release date bothers me a bit... Can they even show they have more than one stage finished?
The fact that there's already a "shopping" section in the main menu is worrisome.
Can we see the rest of the characters?
I can't even find anything out about its developers. They don't even seem to have a website.

I greenlit this on steam, but mainly for the ample breasts of the protagonist than anything else. This one doesn't seem to be a particularly inspired spin on the "Metroidvania" formula, but a new one is always welcome XD

I greenlit it for the Castle Editor, which I always thought Harmony of Despair should have had.
Also because boobs.
The fact that the developer responded within 24 hours to my critique of the miniscule sprites is encouraging though, even if it was something of a canned response that I hear from a lot of developers, but that also includes developers like Square-Enix and Capcom, so that by itself doesn't entirely worry me.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

To be fair, these guys probably have little more than a fraction of HoD's budget. Their art direction is really lackluster and slapped together as is. If it is any good I'd at least give it a try, but I won't pretend to have liked HoD now or ever.
