Kind of reminds me of something off a Magic: The Gathering card, or maybe from Heavy Metal...
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I was pretty certain everybody already knew that.

As far as my earlier comment goes, I just think it looks like something from one of those two.
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Nice find, Uzo.  I was thinking it was just a coincidence, with all the Conan art out there.  But if you look closely at the ripples in the muscles and the shadowing on the back, it's just too similar.

And don't forget the Simon's Quest artwork's likeness to that Ravenloft novel (or whatever it was), or the Metal Gear/Kyle Reese and Contra/Schwartzenegger & Stallone ripoffs.  It's not like Konami never ripped off their artwork before.

I would say it's changed enough, and that Castlevania definitely got the better end result  ;)

Both pics are cool, though.

That is Frank Frazetta's work. the man pretty much invented what epic, warriors are meant to look like so yeah. This homage almost borders on plagiarism!

God I love this guy's art...

Castlevania didn't invent the "heroic pose with Big Bad's giant head imposed on the background" model.  You're really pulling this.
