I'd like to point out this game comes out on the Christian Good Friday, when Jesus died and Hell no doubt rejoiced. Evil will surely be out in full force and brave hunters will be needed to push it back.  ;)

One day remains!

I wanted to talk a bit about our future plans. We plan to release on Steam tomorrow, and the console versions should be ready before the end of the summer. Hopefully, the game will sell well enough for us to continue working on it. We would like to add free updates sometime in 2025. Personally, I want more levels, cutscenes, and localization features, but player feedback will help guide our roadmap. There are still many common features, such as controller mapping, that did not make it in due to time and budget constraints, but features like these can be added as updates as we are able to add them.

I hope you guys enjoy Carpathian Night Starring Bela Lugosi. The whole project began from a desire of mine to see more of the formula established in Super Castlevania IV, my favorite game in the series. I could never find what I wanted within the Castlevania series, or outside of it. Carpathian Night is my vision for how I would have made this game, because nobody else did it for me, after decades of waiting. I hope we captured the essence, while doing it in a way that is uniquely our own.

And finally, I tried my best to find every bug, but if I failed, please let me know so I can fix it and continue to improve the game.

Sharpen your oak stakes! The return of the Lord of the Vampires is imminent!

Me neither - I'd have to guess you and your friends normally play as vampires, so Simon Belmont would be a natural boss enemy for you.  That's kind of interesting.  Commencing research into the game!

EDIT:
Oh, it seems this game lets you make your own vampire castle.  This collaboration would then let you add some Castlevania aesthetic to it.  Neat!

Game’s name is V Rising.

Will you be releasing an OST for this game by any chance? I'd pay for one.

I am putting an OST together for the Kickstarter backer rewards, but we planned on delivering that alongside the console versions. We have some of the older versions of the tracks up on Spotify as well, but we plan to take those down and update them with the newer versions. We will have more time for extras like this once the console versions are out.

@RichterB

Thanks! Oscar's theme is reprised by both composers at different points in the game. 👍

Expect this game to be the most signature Migami game of them all but with a much better balance and presentation. This is a Migavania!

We take inspiration from all eras of Castlevania. There is some music that has similar vibes to cv64 but the inspiration for the wolf was the history of the beast of Gevaudan and the Brotherhood of the Wolf film, and not so much Cornell from Legacy of Darkness.

I don't particularly have a lot of fondness for the Lords of Shadow trilogy as Castlevania games, but cool to see this contribution. It's a nice piece. I never listened to the whole thing in the demo, so this gave me an opportunity to appreciate it. Does that mean this theme will have iterations/callback cues during the game by Montoya? Or used during narrative text screens with Robert Belgrade? Or is it just a title screen thing? No worries either way.

CotW/LC2 Game Questions:

-I've been replaying Lecarde 2 and hyping up Wolf to a friend, and I'm wondering something. If you addressed this before, my apologies. In Servigny Mansion, fairly early in the game, you already have what I consider some signature Migami moments:

These ideas multiply over the course of the game,

These are not things you generally see in a lot of modern games or Metroidvanias. Some consider them too obtuse or cheap...but I think they are amazing and make the world feel alive and engaging. The amount of/variety of consequential platforming and the aforementioned oddities/curiosities make Lecarde 2 much more than a standard Metroidvania. Can I still expect to see these kind of interactive brain-teasers/surprises/jump-scares in Chronicles of the Wolf? Or is it going to feel more traditional overall like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night?

-Was Castlevania 64 and/or Legacy of Darkness a piece of inspiration for the Lecarde games and/or Chronicles of the Wolf? As a fan of the N64 entries, I sometimes sense some of that vibe and sense of puzzles. I definitely noticed the musical cues by Montoya from the N64 games.
