Don't kid yourselves that SOPA is dead, and "pulled" from the house. This is something MPAA and RIAA desperately want passed. Since it didn't pass on it's own, it will be amended to something that "will" pass to pass along with it. This is how a lot of bad legislation pass.

Not to mention the numerous ignorant people that will watch TV and see the SOPA commercial that claims SOPA will bring back jobs, and call their congressman to go for it.

I put quotations around will because it will happen unless there's honesty in the system, and except for a select few, there is not a shred left.

I am sorry guys. Truly, truly sorry. I had hoped that with the tremendous success we all achieved on the 18th that we might be allowed a bit more time to rest.

But I must blow the whistle again. Because Lamar Smith, the magnificent bastard behind SOPA, has created another bill of truly Orwellian terror.

This time he has created the bill  H.R. 1981 that monitors your credit card and bank activity. It requires that Internet Providers hold on to information about your browsing history for up to 18 months. Meanwhile, police are allowed to investigate your activities if they suspect you of any crime.

Worse yet, this bill is being disguised as "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011". That's right, he's hiding a bill straight from "1984" as something to stop child pornography, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with it.

It is clear that Lamar Smith will not stop until the Internet is completely under government control. He does not care if he is invading our privacy with bills like SOPA and PIPA. It seems that the only course of action left is to confront him directly. If he refuses to stop creating these types of bills, then he needs to understand that the people will not tolerate his actions.

People from Texas, do your utmost to ensure this "public servant" does NOT get reelected.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

It's quite brilliant, really. If you protest that bill, then it looks like you're endorsing child pornography.

The man's intelligence stat has leveled up since our last meeting.

This is a battle we'll need statistics to fight.
