True. Logic changes with the times, as do many things.
But empathy states that if you have so many people the planet is straining to support them as is... you... make more people for some reason.
Logic states that if you have so many people the planet is straining to support them as is... you might want to consider letting nature take it's course for a while.
That said, I don't want anyone thinking I'm a dastardly supervillain or anything, curling my eeeeeeeevil mustache around one finger.
There just is no way to go about the matter of natural selection as it applies to humans without seeming the villain these days. I'm sorry that for some to succeed and survive, others must fail and die. I really am. But that's the way nature has worked since, well, forever; and that some people think that mankind can best nature is kind of "idealistically foolish".
That said: I am all for supporting victims of man-made catastrophes and atrocities. Some African warlord carving up women and children with machetes? Bring that jerkoff down. Some dictator hoarding all the food for himself in a famine? Share up, buddy. Flooding due to a ruptured dam? Let's get those survivors somewhere to stay with food and clean water.
Just because natural selection works doesn't mean we should allow people to suffer at the hands of their fellow man.
And there's my speech and the end of my contribution to this thread, as for me (and I'm sure for others) this is a touchy subject, and I don't want to start any trouble.
