The internet was meant to be free. It is perhaps the last free place here on earth. Everything else is f**ked up with useless and ridiculous forms of censorship brought on by institutions who can't or don't want to understand what it means to be human anymore. It allows us to be creative and share that creativity throughout the rest of the world.

There's still the little problem of the Judiciary branch. Even if Congress passes something, the Supreme Court still has to say it's a legal act of Congress, and something like this would definitely make it onto the Court's desk.

But Judges are obviously bought... maybe not all of them but a good deal of them no doubt. One judge used to be a lobbyist for the RIAA.

I believe the title "Stop Internet censorship before it starts" is a bit misleading. Severe Internet censorship is in full scale in China and many Arab states, for example.
Is this limited only to America? What kind of censorship is to be implemented? On content? On entire websites? Is this a tool against internet piracy? 'Cause when we talk of piracy it can be reduced, but never completely destroyed...

The poor and vague wording of the law would pretty much consider any act of things such as streaming content not owned by you, (for example, a castlevania game on youtube) an act of pirace and can have you arrested for it. Minecraft Creator Notch is against it, and has even stated that if it does go through, he will have to add a special clause to the terms of agreement just so people can still put Minecraft videos on Youtube.

It would DESTROY the internet.
