The Patlabor TV series is the best iteration, I think. The original OVA and movies are great too, but I like how nobody really gets killed or seriously injured (that I recall) and it's pretty lighthearted while being simultaneously high-stakes. Just a great series.

Finished season two of Bastard, loved it. Can't wait for a third and so on. Looks like they'll be adapting the complete manga storyline, if this continues to be successful. Maybe the licensor of the OVA will let someone like Discotek remaster it. I saw parts of it years ago but don't remember much.

One more convention (Retropalooza 10) appearance before release! And we also won Best Indie Dev of the convention again. Had a great time, as always.

Wonder how long it will be until they show a trailer with playable Castlevania characters in it.  This castle seems to be ruled by an crazy blue skinned king rather than a vampire count, so shouldn't expect "too many" references.

Even silence is as much an answer as anything else. If IGA said nothing then I think he might be feeling disappointed with the Netflix adaptions as well.

I do have to wonder what the animated series post season 1 would have been like if Iga was still at the helm.

If IGA was still at the helm of the series, it would have never seen the light of day. After 8 rewrites until the first movie/season 1 got "passable" and then the project was dead in the water until Kevin Kolde and Adi Shankar revived the project after IGA left Konami. While IGA never said a thing publicly so far (to my knowledge), we do have something from his best buddy Curry the Kid. He just gave non-answers on his AMA thread when asked if the show captured the feel of the games. Even then, very rarely do creators just go out and criticize or openly say they didn't like adaptations of their works. The only one that comes to mind is Alan Moore.

I hope so too. I just got a look at that game and it does seem to have potential. WayForward is also doing this title, and since they were successful with Contra 4, I doubt this game will be as bad as Konami's previous Contra title. Ya know, the one with the gun-wielding Panda, lol.

So sad, so much potential.  Gotta hope their new Contra game sells well if we want a new Castlevania, perhaps?
