Harmony of Despair is still the longest played Castlevania game ever,
look i know the clocks just moved forward but you should not be having this fucked-up of a notion of time because of it
people have been playing HD for a whopping seven and a half years
people have been playing CV1 for 31
i'd like some sources and citations on your math on this one, because it makes no fucking sense in any context other than "fanboy pulling argument out of nowhere to justify shitting on people who don't share his opinion"
the most fun and replayable
100% subjective but i'm pretty confident i could run polls on the other, larger CV communities (read: 10K+ people) to gauge general enjoyment and replayability factor across the entire series, and HD wouldn't even be in the top 3
also one of the greatest co-op games and fans played it on x360 and PS3
exact same point as above, i could run polls to see what games on the list of co-op titles in the last decade are the most widely/frequently played, and i guarantee HD--again--isn't coming out anywhere NEAR the top of the resulting list
PS3 still has some people playing it with friends online.
so does literally every single other PS3 title with online co-op and servers that are still in any way active, this point is moot
Harmony of Despair is the perfect direction for the series
to be perfectly honest i'd say the pachislots are better direction for the series than HD's formula is, because at least the pachislots know what they're trying to be and are consistent to that end
but this is a subjective point, in the end
combining classic stage based timed Castlevania gaming, with nonlinear Rondo/IGAvania level designs
except throwing a timer on a castleroid area map isn't even remotely the same thing as classicvania level gameplay
see, classic CV had this thing called
platforming, and had its entire levels mapped out and planned around making that platforming as challenging as the games could offer, and the timer became a factor to test your skill at maneuvering those platforming and enemy/trap placement challenges with a limited timeframe to complete the stage
a series of long flat hallways and occasionally some slopes you can essentially walk right through and press the attack button doesn't magically become classicvania gameplay
just because they put a fucking timer on it the greatest selection of playable characters,
false, that's CVBla, because it has ronald mcdonald and frog
(and also playable villains, characters that have NEVER been playable in the normal timeline of games, etc.)
epic 6 players co-op
dark souls 3 at max hosting capacity would like a word with you
and the netcode actually is one of the greatest in gaming history, especially when even some AAA games struggle to maintain 4 players co-op without lag. well yea HD is not flawless online, but over the years playing it, it's one of the most stable online experiences, even with 6 players
i'd like to know how you have such a flawless and deep-rooted knowledge of every networking-capable title out there, as well as the exact specifics of every single online gamer's networking setup to come to the conclusion that a game you're clearly fanboying over trumps (essentially) every other networking game out there purely based on the number of potential slots and whether or not it lags
you DO realize lag generally is caused by
local connection quality on the players' end, and usually not the game itself, right?
the fastest and most dedicated server in the world is still gonna experience lag if a player's running at 56K speeds, for instance
now, if you get mad or whatever over the meticulous picking-apart of your post here, then i'm sorry, but frankly i
wouldn't have gone to this effort had you not run out of the gate with the whole "ugh you don't share my fanboyism and opinions on what i like, you're just a hater keep hating hater" bullshit
you hadn't pulled that crap and i probably wouldn't have even made this post at all
so, think before you type, i guess? idk, i just really don't like obvious fanboys jumping straight to the hater-train the instant they see anyone with a disagreeing opinion and then acting like they have the moral and factual high ground just because their opinion says so
and really, in the end, if i wanted to play a CV that didn't particularly care much about the timeline (or had a justifiable excuse as to why everyone's in the same point in time) where i could play as basically anyone from any game and play matchups of characters who would never encounter each other outside of such a game...i'd go play CVBla, because serio actually knows how to make such a game and make it
well
