I'll personally be excited with Castlevania once more when I have an actual -new- CV game in my library.
I'm gonna disagree with this and take happiness where I can find it, mostly because for all my effort to force some optimism here, I can't shake this feeling that the Netflix series and Simon+Richter in Smash are going to be the end once and for all for this series.
It's the same feeling I had about the PlayStation Vita when it came out: "Yeah, this is awesome and all, but it really just feels like we've hit the end of the road here."
So enjoy it while you can, because we may not get any more out of this series, and if we do, it'll likely be an offensive reduction of the series to sell microtransactions to young mobile gamers with too much money and not enough responsibility.
Better to see it go out on a relatively high note, I think.
I know, it's pessimistic, but it's a pessimism that I have learned well and with good reason over many years, and virtually nothing done in-house by Konami proper has done even the slightest thing to prove me wrong.
