Selling PoR Prototype Cartridge (Closed Topic)

Hi All,

I'm new here, I'm a member over at NintendoAge and you can see my ebay profile, http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=j_and_a_toys&ftab=AllFeedback

I just thought everyone may like to see the pics of this Castlevania Portrait of ruin prototype DS, Pic's are attached, it is for sale aswell if anyone is interested.

I haven't played through the whole game yet, so far it seems mostly the same, (even though I do not know the game well) A few different colours in places, but so far that's about it.

Thanks!

Hey, welcome to the forums! Do you have any in-game screens to show us? If this is a prototype then there must be some minor in-game discrepancies abound in it.

Hi there, thanks for the welcome :)

I haven't taken any yet, My DS is on charge right along with camera, but I can take some tomorrow once they are both charged and post some pics, I presume it must have some differences like you say to the retail version.

Thanks!

Just to let everyone know, the prototype is now on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280855678024&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

I have posted some Gameplay screenshots, quite hard to get when your playing the game :)

If anyone has any q's, or wants a screenshot from a particular point in the game let me know and I'll try and get one.

Thanks!

How can we tell its is a prototype version of the game, and not simply just a devkit cart that was aquired and then loaded with a copy of the retail game?

I would imagine a true prototype would be in Japanese, not English, under the Akumajo title.

I also find it odd a prototype game, developed in Japan, would be labeled with a sharpe in English as "Castlevania PoR".

That is very unlikely, it has come from a good source, when I say prototype, a prototype by mine and many people's definitions is to do with the cart it's self as aposed to what the rom is on the cart, one of my other prototype carts on ebay is Lunar Knights and this has on the label, Lunar Knights review sweden (where all the carts came from). As these carts would have been sent to reviewers like all (well most) DS games are, so it may be the final build for review, this I have no idea on. I have had some good offers that I've turned down and if it doesn't make it's reserve I'm happy to keep it. I'm a 100% sure this is genuine.

Hi there, I have so had 4 offers, the highest being $525 which I turned down. The ebay reserve price is lower than this though, but not a lot lower. I got this from Sweden, from someone who works in the video game industry, I'm sorry but I don't know where or what they do, but I have had many items from this person and everyone has been 100% genuine and everyone I've sold the items to has been very happy, hope this helps.
Thank you!

I don't you can get anyone crazy enough to pay over 500 for that thing.

So far 2 people have now offered over $500. I don't think they are crazy if you want a piece of videogame history from a fantastic franchise then it's right there for them and DS prototypes of any kind are hard to get hold of, People would be crazy if they just wanted to play it and aren't collectors though, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I own several prototypes, and believe me, $500+ for a DS game released only several years ago is asking way, WAY too much. You really need to reconsider that, this coming from a hardcore collector.

Show me a Bloodlines prototype, or a Super Castlevania IV prototype or perhaps Rondo, then we'll talk. THAT will be worth over $500.

Fair enough, but if it doesn't hit it's reserve, I have someone who may be willing to purchase it and if not I'm just as happy to keep it, I got it very cheap so I don't mind hanging on it if it doesn't sell.
