Title: Which Castlevania would be the scariest in real life?
Post by: Crying Freeman on October 27, 2015, 11:32:57 AM
Don't just think about the scariest looking, but imagine having to get through things like the jumps and bosses. I'd say 4 and 64 for now.

SotN, hands down. Humans can't use magical relics or spells.

Probably the 1999 game if it existed, otherwise...AoS.

I'm thinking of the final boss fights as well as everything else. LOD for sure, I mean the clocktower is scary a/f! Also Final form Dracula, f'ing gross.

In terms of 2D with the proper ending, Dracula X.. So many pitfalls including the final throne room.

Taking into account your best friend's life being in danger, some of the enemies, going underwater for so long, finding out

Dunno, Curse of Darkness seemed too spooky for me.

Realistically, Hector should've became the incarnation/vessel for Dracula. The guy's rather hot-headed and extremely hell-bent on revenge (for good reason), and everyone, except for a riddle-speaking posh bastard and a witch who looks like his recently killed wife, telling him to kill Isaac. Which is rather justified. The dude killed his wife and then toyed around with him like he was nothing when all Hector wanted was some peace. I would've done him proper

Sounds like a worst case scenario to me, which is more spooky than willingly becoming Dracula or trapped in an eclipse just to find out you can do Dracula stuff.

Speaking of which, I'm assuming everyone on this thread despises Lords of Shadow, for that's the other scary scenario I wouldn't wish to deal with. It's like being forced to play Anakin as he willingly becomes Vader and enjoys it, just to regret it and become bitter at the monster he is now and the world which made him that way.

Or I could be roleplaying a little too hard again...

@Sul Yong I don't hate LOS. I enjoyed LOS 1 (aside from the occasional missed hitboxes with enemies). I just really dislike MOF. LOS2 I have not played yet. Finding out that

is pretty darn scary.

@zangetsu468
Yeah, I mentioned CoD because I wanted to mention the game from the IGA series that would be scariest to me. But to be honest, I think LoS 1 is by far the scariest.

Not sure about real life, But Simon's Quest scared me the most.

Next in line for me would be Bloodlines.

Simons Quest does do the creepy really well. The people lying to you is a gemplay flaw, but it does get that "Lie and serve yourself" attitude that a lot of people around those time periods seemed to have (something we still have but you get the idea  ;D), and approaching Castlevania has a great buildup... Not to mention getting sucked up by a tornato XD

Bloodlines has a lot of mind fuckery, especially in the final stage. The horror in the game was also really well done

Come to think of it.. it's the same woman who mentions the eye of the deathstar.. she's sitting on the floor.. ballsack... Simon's standing.. Was Simon the one asking her to look into the eye of his Deathstar??? :/

The whole game is explicit now.

You guys are giving more ideas to Konami's "erotic violence".
