That was a bad idea since I got pretty burnt out on the whole point-and-click, talk-talk-talk gameplay, so I only played a couple hours of Last Window and never did finish Again. The same thing happened to me with the Gabriel Knight games. I enjoyed the first one so much* that I grabbed the other two on Gog right away. But got quickly burnt out after a few hours on GK2 even though it seemed to be a genuinely good game with FMVs where the actors surprisingly weren't terrible. Still haven't beaten either of the GK sequels some two years later.
I got my Dolphin Emulator running at 1080p.
So I'm doing a NewGame+ of Xenoblade Chronicles for kicks. It's so beautiful! High-Res pic in the spoiler tag. :D(click to show/hide)
Ummmmm ok lmao:Considering that my PC isn't that much weaker compared to yours, I should be able to run it smoothly on standard settings...
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad-Core CPU
Q9650 @3.00GHz
3.00Ghz, 3.50GB of RAM (really 8GB but Windows XP, my main OS, cannot see the rest)
ATI Radeon HD 5870 Series, PCI Express, 1GB GDDR5 RAM
Microsoft WindowsXP Pro (I have Dual-Boot but it appears there's some problem with my Windows7 Product Key, so I am unable to update DirectX in Win7.. :( )
DirectX9
If I were running in Win7, it would probably run faster due to access to 64bit goodies and extra RAM. Too bad Microsoft is being stupid about my Product Key. I hate that crap (it's a real disc, I just don't use Win7 enough and forgot to activate the product when I first installed, so now it doesn't want to do it and Microsoft's website is all 'here's a link to our store where you can buy our system'.... yeah NO I bought it already).
The emulator's visuals are really good but I don't get 100% emulator speed at 1080p. I get about 70% (still beautiful and playable as the original game's framerate never went higher than 30fps and the emu runs between 24 and 30fps on my system). There are occasional stutters in sound but that's an emulator/plugin thing that cannot be fixed with a better system.
Also, I am FORCED to throttle to 24-30fps, as the game's heavily voice-acted and the audio is hardcoded to the 24-30fps framerate. I can tweak the emu to run the game at 60fps but then in cutscenes, the audio will play way after the animations, since it all renders in the game engine (no FMVs here).
It's really... really... really really nice, though. :D
If I unthrottle the speed and run New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it almost looks too good. Like, "maybe what Wii-U would look like" good.

EDIT: Another question, does this game require a Wiimote? Because fuck me sideways if it does.
that looks like metroid 2 with helmless samus?
Suitless Samus (though I kept the boots). Just her running around just in baileys.
I'm playing this game now.
BTW, what's wrong with this picture? :P :P :P(click to show/hide)
apparently you didnt play Super Metroid. That games still the top of 2d adventure gaming. Thered be no metroidvanias without itI've tried a little of it. Symphony blows it away imo. Don't get me wrong it's obviously a good game and extremely innovative. There wouldn't have been a Symphony or other Metroid style Castlevanias without it. But it still feels like a step down/backwards and I still can't make myself interested in the world or characters. These are purely personal and subjective criticisms and I'm not surprised others enjoy the games as they are obviously of high quality.
I've tried a little of it. Symphony blows it away imo.
How are you playing a GBC game on a 3DS? R4?
noooooooooooooooooo :(
I don't get how anybody could think this way. Super Metroid is a masterpiece, a perfectly flawless game. SOTN, while great, can't compare.
Trying "a little of" the game doesn't tell much about how incredible it is. The first twenty minutes or so are an eerie setup that leads into a full-blown "holy peup this is amazing" type experience. The game just constantly keeps getting better and better as you go.
I find it hard to believe someone can like SoTN and its flock, but hate Super Metroid. But to each their own I suppose.Ah I would find that hard to believe as well. I never said I hated it. Merely that the gameplay did not feel as good to me as SOTN (the platinum standard imo) and that the mythology of Metroid will never interest me as much as that of Castlevania. Like I said, I'm sure it's an excellent game along with most of the rest of the Metroid series.
I would buy the pack but I already own Bastion Sword and Sworcery and Amnesia. So theres really no point. If they add more onto it I might consider it then
I did buy the Thief pack on steam last week tho pretty sweet deal
It's
a Gameboy Metroid II hack that uses my graphics to update Samus and some other stuff
running on
a Gameboy Emulator for DS
running on
a DSTwo Flash Cart for DS
running on
a 3DS system.

I'M A DUDE
PLAYIN' A DUDE
DISGUISED AS ANOTHER DUDE!
Looking forward to Amnesia, bit of a horror-puzzler as far as I know it
I did buy the Thief pack on steam last week tho pretty sweet deal
I didn't flash carts worked on the 3DS... Which one do you use?
I wanna make out with your guys' buttholes so much. Amnesia and Thief are two of the greatest games ever. The latter is in my top ten, probably my top five. Really similar games; fans of one will undoubtedly love the other.
And SOTN is, like the rest of the games, set in the kind of spooky-fun world the love for which is the reason Halloween is still my favorite holiday. Bursting with fun horror elements that remind me of movies I watched late at night and saved up to buy/rent on VHS as a kid.
Have Thief 2 on disc from ages back.... loved that game till it didn't work anymore on W'XP. Thinking about repurchasing on Steam. ThieF 3 was pretty good also.... never played the first.
Super Metroid has a ghost ship that's 8,000,000 times more spooky than anything SOTN musters up. :p There are lots of moments of horror in that game (bosses Spore Spawn, Crocomire, Kraid).
I dunno, SM is oozing with horror atmosphere right from the get-go. I'm not really sure how you're not seeing it, instead equating it to some "guns and aliens" thing or something. It tells me you weren't really paying attention and didn't give the game any chance at all.
Palying onimusha 3 now afterwards Dawn of Dreams.I played a little of the original Onimusha and it seemed really good, though being restricted to dpad movement on a PS2 game is odd.
It's funny that the discussion turned to Super Metroid. That's another game I've been playing lately. I played up to Maridia, my favorite part, and haven't had a chance to get back to it since then.
Ratty, of course you're allowed to like and dislike whatever you want, but Super Metroid and SotN really do have tons in common. If you enjoyed SotN, you really owe it to yourself to give Super Metroid a fair shake. Even if you play through it and hate it, which is extremely unlikely, you'll understand the roots of SotN and you'll have the experience to truly judge the Metroid series.
I'm playing Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (ps2) for the millionth tume. This time I'm determined to beat it. Dunno why I always quit playing at some point, but not this time. Beat the Ruins of Amnesia tonight and is heading towards Windseeker Heights next (I think). Or maybe Limewater Cave. Dunno. The game doesn't always tell you where you need to go, at least not like in typical modern RPGs where you're always being pointed in the right direction. Thankfully the game doesn't seem that large so I'm just walking around, stumbling upon the next objective most of the time.Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles was released on Steam recently if I'm recalling correctly. My SO played Oath in Felghana recently and adored it. I'm going to have to give the series a spin.
After Napishtim I'm gonna play Oath in Felghana. I am pretty new to the Ys series but I'm finding myself getting more and more obsessed. Now, if I could only find a cooy of Y I & II Chronicles for the PSP...
Ys Origin is out now on Steam as wellD'oh. Yeah that's what I meant. Guess I assumed that was the PC version of the latest in the long series of remakes of the first 2 games.
Speaking about Metroid...
...I could have sworn I read somewhere that the original took some inspiration from "Aliens".It does. Ridley was possibly named after Ridley Scott. The female heroine fighting aliens in outer space. Metroids hatching out of eggs in Return of Samus. The tense escape during a countdown to a big explosion that's featured in 3 of the 4 Alien movies and most Metroid games. There are tons of similarities. Go to http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_similarities_between_Metroid_and_Alien (http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_similarities_between_Metroid_and_Alien) for the full scoop.
I put down a payment on a white special edition PSP yesterday, so I'll be getting to my huge back log of PSP games in a couple of weeks. Anybody got any suggestions for must play titles?DXC (duh), Maverick Hunter X, Duodecim, and Persona 1 and 2.

If you can get past its super cutesy demeanor, Mega Man Powered Up is friggin' amazing. As good as MHX is, Powered Up does a lot more stuff that's different from the source material.
Anyone ever play Crystalis for NES? I started playing it again, it's so awesome. I've never beaten it, so now I'm going to

For a long time I have been hopelessly hooked on that confounded WoW, with a few helpings of handheld Metroid and Castlevania on the sides.
Then Blizzard had the Diablo 3 open beta stress test, and I enjoyed it.
THEN Runic had THEIR Torchlight 2 open beta...and I was flat-out BOWLED OVER.
Not trying to start a war here, but IMHO D3 has a very strong competitor there, with some of the old Diablo blood (AND musician Matt Uelmen) behind the development! :D
So as I wait impatiently for T2 to release and my preorder to activate, I've been enjoying the first Torchlight all over again. :)
My SO swears by Torchlight, I'd really like to preorder but not sure that my increasingly ancient PC could do either the first or part 2 justice, just depends on how well it's optimized. What I can and can't run well is a bit erratic. I should have a bit of money in a few weeks, maybe invest in a better fan and graphics card.

What you mean like ever? I think it's just that that would be a very long list for some people. Those of us who haven't beaten as many games would probably feel less experienced, and those who have beaten the most would probably feel like they were bragging. Still, a good place to keep track of this sort of thing is http://www.backloggery.com/ (http://www.backloggery.com/) if you're interested.
Righr now I'm working my way through Yakuza 3 which I've never finished before (did finish 1,2 and 4). I should be done with it in a week or so, if I find the time to actually sit the fuck down and play. So much in life right now :(
Hm since this is such a similar topic to the one I recently made of "what have you been playing" maybe they should be merged into one topic like "What have you been playing and/or beaten recently?"
As for myself I finished Dungeon Defenders for the half dozenth time today. Such a great game.
Gargoyle's Quest.
This game is great! I don't know why I never really gave these games a chance. Gargoyle's Quest for the Gameboy is well-balanced, and has a great way of making you feel like you're becoming more powerful as the game progresses without it becoming easier. Especially in the last few levels, where you can hover forever, and are required to use ALL the skills and upgrades you've acquired throughout the game. You really feel accomplished each time you complete a level. It's quite short, but that's to be expected from a Gameboy game. I can beat it in about an hour and 15 minutes now, but the first time through, when you're learning the levels, it can take a while.
I highly recommend it for platforming-heavy action game fans. 3DS owners can get it for about $5 from the eShop.
yeah the gameboy one was always one of my fav games from then. I couldnt really get into the nes one
Been playing the Game Boy Donkey Kong since Club Nintendo had it for "free" (Club Nintendo coins). I ignored it at first because, you know, it's Donkey Kong, and that game only offers up so much entertainment for me...but then on a whim I decided to look into it and found out it's actually its own unique game after you get past the four original stages, and that it was a precursor to Mario vs. Donkey Kong. My mind was blown as I knew nothing about this. To think Mario was doing all those double- and triple-jumps and backflips and stuff before his first N64 outing.
Also playing Doom, which I normally do about once a year or so (along with Doom II). Those first 2 Doom games are among my all-time favorites. You might enjoy this video, the guy does a nice job of putting into words some of the reasons why Doom is still so good after all these years.
That's kind of odd because to me the NES game practically feels like an 8-bit remake of the original. Both are fantastic games.
Demon's Crest is one of my top ten favorites.

*('Course, it may still not come with the free download code for American McGee's Alice, and that would be a drag as I'd hate to hang on to the PS3 disc just to play it, or pay $10 for the game.)
I really wanna play Alice: Madness Returns. I never get around to actually buying it though :(I've been thinking I might pick that one up. I've been more curious about sega-specific RPGs since beating Phantasy Star, which was refreshingly different from what you saw on Nintendo systems* around the same time. And it very possibly is the most "advanced" game on an 8bit console I've ever played.
Right now I'm playing the iPhone port of Shining Force. I finished this game back in the days of the Genesis and I still remember almost every battle (I'm at chapter 5 right now).
I also remember having a lot of problems with some of the battles, such as the one with the Laser Eye canon, and the Marionette boss in the circus tent battle. But now I'm breezing through everything! Back in 1993 this was my very first SRPG so maybe I'm just more skilled at the genre now.
The only thing you ever have to think about is the balance act of keeping the main character out of harms way at all times, while still level him up. Things also gets a little tougher when you promote your characters. I promoted them all as soon as they hit level 10, which I now understand is a bad idea (you're supposed to wait til level 20 to get better and easier level ups later on in the game. Never knew thus back in the day.)
Anyway, this is still a very good game. The item managment is super clunky, worse than I remember it, and the game is very linear and story-driven with no random battles at all (makes leveling a bit cumbersome cause you have to exit battles before you kill the last enemy, and then start over.). But I love it still. I hope the sequel makes it someday. It's arguably a much better game and one of my favourite RPGs of all time.

The only sort-of Sega RPG I've got with me right now though is Landstalker, which seems more like isometric Zelda than a true RPG. It was I think supposed to be a spinoff of the Shining series until the producers had a falling out with Sega and changed some of the names/details. Kinda bugs me that I can't access the censored scene (comic bathtub exchange between the hero and villain) on my American copy.
*You can't beat golden age Square and Enix, so you might as well try to do something unique.
*You can't beat golden age Square and Enix.
Done with every released console Assassin's Creed game. Now I need Altair's Chronicles, Bloodlines, and Discovery... On top of that Assassin's Creed III and Liberation.
In the meantime, I'm addicted to Eternal Sonata.
Eternal Sonata. Hmm very very nice choice I have not seen much since I do not want to spoil it for my self, but that game has color if I have ever seen one how a game should be right ;)
You might enjoy this video, the guy does a nice job of putting into words some of the reasons why Doom is still so good after all these years.
The game is great. I'm actually blown away by how good it is so far.
Not to mention the story and voice acting are both really good. Patrick Seitz's role in this is probably one of his best.
After vesperia and final fantasy 13 I want to get either eternal sonata or star ocean, but then there is the last story. Dang it RPGs kill me that's why I can never finish them, but not with vesperia I plan on beating that no exceptions... no exceptions at all...
I don't envy you, trudging through the Torvus Bog (though hearing Red Soil Swampy Area's arrangement probably helps a lot).
I'm playing Pokemon Platinum in order to get the last little critters I'm missing.
They're done for? That sucks. :( Maybe the key designers for Lost in Shadow will form a small company and make games for the OUYA. ;)
I just ordered another game that the team did, a Marble Madness- and Super Monkey Ball-style game called Kororinpa: Marble Mania. Looks like a ton of fun. I'm sure I'll pick up the sequel before long.
Sucks so bad about Hudson though, to see an important developer like that fall apart. Gonna hold a candlelight vigil while playing DoReMi Fantasy.
I just recently started on Deadly Premonition. Although some of it is irritating and unintentionally (?) funny, I'm still getting sucked into the story, and it does have its charm. I told myself I wouldn't do any side missions, but I did a few just to kill time before some of the main missions were available, and now I'm in full-on Collect Friggin' Everything mode, as usual with games like this.
Oh well. It's still fun overall, so far.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on MK Arcade Kollection on the PS3, one of those rare times I'll actually fire up the system.
Dark Souls. My gosh this game is like one huge death trap and you can never rest it's one surprise after an other. Where do I even begin.I bought Dark Souls at midnight and still haven't finished it. I've just been so lazy with it.
Going to continue ToV tomorrow.
I bought Dark Souls at midnight and still haven't finished it. I've just been so lazy with it.
And that's why I love these games. I'm nearing the end(at least I think I am) but ever since I started working I haven't been able to play as much. Hooray for being an adult... :-\
One advice, take your time with the game, don't rush to finish it, because once you get to a new game+, even with a 120+soul level and the highest equipment, you will still find yourself in a tight spot. ;)

I loved playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. It had every character in all the three games and they were all playable. I found it being the ultimate expression of the Mortal Kombat trilogy.
I got the ff4 complete too and Im really not lookin forward to startin it cause I might not be able to stop lol
you can use a 360 controller with new vegas and skyrim. Plays just like the console versions
been playing King of Fighters XIII
Ahhh Mai(Hot), Yuri(Spunky and cute), and Athena(just pure cute) these three are,and they kick butt the reason why they are on my team :)
What is not cool is that the trials are crazy I cannot do the combos on some of these trials for some reason :(
@Kale Character balancing was pretty lopsided, and one of the more broken characters was pretty much an author avatar. (a freakin' anti-air reversal? Really, Falcoon?) Had it been more balanced, and the author favoritism less blatant, I'd have had no problem with the MI series.
uh.. huh?

Fucking love FFA. By far my favorite of the Mana games and one of my favorite Game Boy titles.
I've tried to enjoy FFL but it seems like there's a ton of underlying systems that the game just doesn't bother to explain that totally confound me.
Will be playing some Torchlight 2 tomorrow, once it's launched onto Steam... aw, hell yeah. Steampunk Diablolike goodness.
For those interested, here's some late pre-release footage...
Torchlight II - Act 2 Gameplay [Direct Feed] (PAX Edition) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80hGtgsl9d4#ws)
I only need to find a way, so I will play that:
THE HARDEST VIDEO GAME BOSS EVER! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQZuidKexBQ#)
I love these cheap games that are almost impossible to win! :)
Also I beat Castlevania Priest Battle yesterday and discovered the "secret key" on the keyboard.
EDIT: More info about this game (from wikipedia).
"Mushihime-sama (虫姫さま?, lit. Insect Princess) is a manic shooter developed by Cave and released by Taito in 2004. It was ported to the PlayStation 2 in 2005 and iOS in 2011. An Xbox 360 port was released in May 2012 (with ver1.5 as first print DLC). A significantely changed "version 1.5" was released to arcades in 2011. The game has an insect theme as all of the enemies resemble various insects such as beetles and butterflies. The game is set in various forest environments. It received a sequel in 2006, known as Mushihime-sama Futari, and a spin-off iOS game entitled "Mushihime-sama Bug Panic"."
Since my PS2 is in the box, I dont know when I will play this hau auuuuu~ :(
This was the right season to play Simon's Quest and Silent Hill. I've never actually played Silent Hill before, and I liked it a lot more than SH2 (which had the better story, but the original was more fun).
Now I'm playing Alundra. Not very far into it at all, though. Bought this one a while ago, but never wanted to really sit down and play it until now.
I guess I've been on somewhat of a PS1 binge lately. Which is weird, because generally the PS1/N64 era is my least favorite now.
Hah... Alundra... I played the 2nd one first. And I ..................... nearly beat it. That is to say, I beat the final boss, but then you have to escape the ship(?) the boss is on, but it's a terribly annoying maze, and it had a time limit. The one part that got me... was half way through it, i managed to work out how to go backward in it but I used most of my time on it... so I died. After that, I was like "Fuck this!"
Alundra 1...... I played for a couple of hours, and had no idea where to go or what to do, then I quit.
Sounds like me, when i played for the first time RPG games, Zelda on game Boy and Breath of Fire III on psx.
Yea but Alundra is unbelievably good at not telling you where to go next.

I'm a bit behind in the whole survival horror vs gears of war-esque debate about these recent games. I cant be too certain where Resident Evil 4 fits exactly but it sure is a lot of fun. Not to mention the variety of randomly sprinkled Spanish profanity lol.
THE WII-U!Ditto! I was happy to find out that my bedroom is a safe distance away from the console so I can enjoy some in bed gaming!
I've been playing NintendoLand on it but that's gotten taken over by New Super Mario Bros. U, which is the most beautiful-looking classic Mario game ever.
Plus, I can play it in the bathroom! xD
I love the screen controller.
Yesterday I played Resident Evil 4 for the first time. Good stuff! This is the first time in months in which I've played a game over an hour without tuning out.

I'm getting mine in a couple of weeks. Can't wait. What one game would you guys recommend I get?
Also, been trudging through the wii version of La-Mulana. Holy shit! were they expecting real archeologists to play this game? Talk about cryptic.
THE WII-U!

I'm pretty busy with the games I've got. It will be a while before I get a new Wii game (I have Epic Mickey 2, NintendoLand, and New Super Mario Bros. U, but on DS and 3DS I've a few titles that I'm not done with yet).
One of THE BEST things about the Wii-U is that, when it loads, it shows local people in your area ranting/raving about the latest games.
Just firing up the system, I can tell you that people love:
-New Super Mario Bros. U - They're lapping it up, talking about every level, asking for help getting star coins, finding the alternate goals, and sketching up situations in the game.
-ZombiiU - They are loving this game and are HATING the IGN review that played the game down (I haven't played the game, but it seems popular on the WiiU statuses).
-Assassin's Creed 3 - They love no longer having to press SELECT to access the in-game map (in the PS3/X360 versions the map takes a little to load and it's somewhat annoying to use but that's pretty much in all Assassin's Creed titles). They also love having two weapon slots since now you can just tap the screen to whistle for your horse.
-Call of Duty: Black Ops2 - Although they love the new interface and extra stuff the Gamepad has to offer, they do not like that you cannot enter the Miiverse in the middle of gameplay to post something; you have to exit out of your mission to do so. This is because so far in every Wii-U game, you can hit the HOME button on the Controller and immediately enter the Miiverse and post a screenshot of what you're doing or post a question or comment about the situation, then immediately hop back into the game action.
Here's what it looks like people are talking about:

Other games that have been popping up here and there are:
-Scribblenauts Unlimited
-Ninja Gaiden
BTW sorry for the bad image quality, I just quickly took a pic with my phone when I spotted classic Ryu Hayabusa. xD
On another note, I also played the hell outta the demo for DmC: Devil May Cry. The gameplay far surpasses even DMC3 in my opinion. The frame-rate is a little buggy on the eyes, but otherwise, the game plays fantastic. The demo is chock full of hidden goodies that'll keep you playing.
Like wise the control is just wow almost enough to get me back into the series :)
I've been juggling between Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (it's been in storage and now that I have a Conner statue staring at me, I better get back to beating the series to enjoy his game!) and ZombieU.
I will let you know now, ZombieU is hard and stressful. Literally one bite deaths, and the next character you play has to kill your last character as a zombie to get your old sweet loots. I'm not that far in (Buckingham Palace) but have already gone through 5 people, I think? It's a fun game, but only if you like being stressed out and dying a lot in a zombie-apocalypse scenario in the middle of London. It's fun too. :P But I can't emphasize it's stressfulness. If you can, borrow it from a friend to try it first before you decide to plunge into it, because I can definitely tell it's not for everyone.
19-The Man With The Machine Gun-FFVIII OST (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYHblHmoQKg#)
It's very slow but it is getting there also can someone explain seed rank and gil to me I seem to get 1500 g at random ???
almost done with ninja gaiden 2.
Seed rank is what gets you money in the game. You get higher seed rank by either doing the seed tests in your menu, or playing the game as closely to "perfection" as you can. Needless to say, the test is the way to go. I believe, having characters die, taking forever to go to places that you need to go contributes to lowering your seed rank. You get paid every hour of gameplay. So I'd go ahead and take those tests early to get money earlier on.
Keep in mind that you can only take tests up to your current character maximum level.
hows SoTN on ps3 via psn? Anyone tried it? Im kinda hesitant to buy the game for the 10th time

I was playing Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition online but 9 out of 10 times the opponent is either gonna be Ryu, Ken or Akuma. Ridiculously cheap ass characters. No variety.
Did you tear your hair out on Donkey Kong's Crash Course yet?
Genius of Sappheiros - my first JRPG experience. I like boss battles and story, but running around the levels is so tedious. :(
I don't want to take 3 hours and several attempts walking and dying through one dungeon because I've been given no clue where to go.It's not that it hard to find where to go - so far levels designed rather straightforward or at least not very confusing. It's the process of going there that is boring - kill the same monsters over and over, walk through the similar places over and over. Tend to be annoying.
Monster Hunter is awesome. I wish theyd get their head out of their ass and put more on consoles instead of portables. The market is there I have no idea why they keep treatin it like a 2nd class franchise in the US.
yeah pretty sure mh4 will make its way here on 3ds... again... why not on a console? So is this MH 3 ultimate just MH Portable Third for nintendo instead of psp?
Portable 3rd is awesome. Id like to see it officially come to the US =/ I already played Tri on wii Ill prolly have to pass on this new Ultimate one. Maybe some hope will come with mh4
Pikmin... no seriously. I had never played it and then I played the Pikmin attraction in Nintendoland and I liked it, so I got Pikimin 1 &2.
woooooo just got my pspgo component cable!!! that means monster hunter portable 3rd on the big screen!!!!
Luckyyyyyyyyyy
How long do those cables go? I'd love to have one.
Mines 5? foot it looks like. Seems about right. Doesnt really matter with the Go tho cause you can pair a ps3 controller to it
I just beat Retro City Rampage! That game was Nintendo hard.
The other day I finished Chrono Trigger for the first time. It's amazing how that game is able to make you care so much about each character over such a short time. I finally understand what all the hype surrounding this game is about. I'm not so sure about New Game + mode though. There's just no challenge in it. Is it just there for people who only want the story without worrying about challenge and gameplay? I can't get into it.
Been playing back through Resident Evil:The Umbrella Chronicles since my dog kinda spilled tea on my PS3 controller (R.I.P. old friend) & I've just been in a real RE mood since seeing new footage for the fan completion of RE 1.5. Also just wanted to finish leveling up my arsenal & get those last few files I missed on my first time through.
How good is that game? I've been thinking about buying the Chronicles HD Collection since I very much enjoyed The Darkside Chronicles, but I'd like some opinions about the first game. :3
You seem to be having quite a binge with Touhou fangames, are there any MegaTen-styled ones?Erm...What is "Mega-Ten"?
Megami TenseiI have heard of this series, but never saw or played in them, so I can't say, if there are Touhou fangames styled after "Mega-Ten".
I have started final fantasy 9. This is the second time that i'm playing through it. FF9 FF7, are the only one's that i have played only once from start to end. Maybe when i'll finish FF9, i'll give a second round on FF7. I'm also playing dungeon siege throne of agony.
Make sure to grab the Maniax edition then, the regular edition doesn't have Dante or the True Demon Ending.
One thing I have to note about Dante is that he doesn't have Pierce, making him nigh-useless against the TDE final boss.
I loved 9, couldn't stand 7 though.
oh hell I didnt know Demons Souls was on psn now. Good thing I didnt pick it up last week when I was at gamestop
My brother recently bought Demon's Souls and I heard him getting angry over the phone. He kept complaining how he kept dying and it was the worst game ever. I could help but to laugh and call him a pussy. I warned him he would die but he just didn't listen.
Huh...we were just talking about SMT: Nocturne in the last page, and so I stop by the Gamestop by the Theater in Kent, WA and what do you know? 2 copies of SMT: Nocturne in really nice condition! Picked myself up a copy of it, though I'll probably end up still playing Skyrim instead. >_<
y u no get me a copy? :(
Umm...because I wasn't sure if you wanted one? Might be easier if you just roll with it here. http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/games/shin-megami-tensei-nocturne/34305 (http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/games/shin-megami-tensei-nocturne/34305)
FUUUUUU I could have bought it new for the same price I bought it used?! >_<
Just started playing Dark Souls and holy crap, I'm getting the shit kicked out of me by skeletons. :-[
I have a feeling I'll have a much harder time with this than with the first game, with the respawning enemies, no stockpiling herbs, etc.
I have been playing..... Antichamber.
Indie, arty, Portal-esque, possibly a teeny bit pretentious, and more than a bit brain-melting. Also a 3D Metroidvania. Very, VERY mindfucky. I had to turn off the game to think about some puzzles quite a few times. Still not finished. Very worth it IMO.
Street Fighter x Tekken. I've owned it since September 2012 & had NEVER played it until last night at the urging of an online acquaintance...HOLY SHIT, I LOVED IT.

8) Yeah, lovin' this game!
Believe me my friend, Dark Souls is far more easier than Demon's Souls, you'll understand what i mean, when you get far on the game. ;)
Deus Ex, someone talked about it and y'know....
Gotta step in and recommend Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines to anyone who likes Deus Ex again. A Deus Ex clone so good that even though the developer was forced to release an extremely buggy and somewhat incomplete* version of the game (since fixed in fan patches) it still got a solid 80 on metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/vampire-the-masquerade---bloodlines) because it's just that damn good.
*The last 1/3rd of the game can not be completed with levels in diplomacy alone so there's not a proper "pacifist route".
Playing through Mega Man Legends for the first time. Pretty dang good s'far.
I've got MML2 to do when I'm finished; I bought that for $12 new over a decade ago so I don't have to pay today's absurd asking price. :p
Ugh... having never played Deus Ex, and absolutely loving VTM:B I have to sort of be annoyed to the word "Clone" there. How similar are they, really? for you to use the word clone.
I thought Onlive was gone? I dont get how it works at all. How is remote connecting to a pc and playin a game on it in any way effective? Could you not just accomplish the same thing with teamviewer?
Donkey Kong Country 2. It's still rad after 17 years. *happy tear*
Been playing Ys I Chronicles Plus, the combat's very simple and yet it somehow manages to be fun to me. Though I have to ask, what's with the huge power jump between levels? At level 1 I run for dear life whenever I get hit, and when I got to level 2 I'm suddenly WTFPWNing every mook I see barehanded. Don't tell me Normal's actually the grade schooler difficulty. >.>
...Yeah, it's still only early game, so I can't really tell for sure.
I'm playing LoS from the beginning, i want to finish it, before i start MoF.
Apart from the MoF demo, I've also been trying the demo for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I am not sure if I get this game at all. It's my first experience with the series, and I've heard it's really good. The demo did not click at all for me so I'm kinda confused. The combat is kind of...stiff. I guess it's meant to be like that, and I'm sure the game is "rewarding" or whatever. But right now I'm thinking the game is not for me at all. The camera is awful too. I feel like I'm missing something or not "doing it right" maybe. I am probably not gonna give the series another chance, unfortunately. I'll wait for Fire Emblem instead, or something...
I need to get it on ps3 and give it another go. I have it on xbox and never really got into it
I have so many games I'm playing right now it's ridiculous.
Did that with WayForward's A Boy and His Blob last night. Gonna just stick to this game until I beat it and not get all ADD and be all, "Ooh, I wanna do this now!" Gotta do the same with animu series; sticking with Tekkaman Blade till I finish it!
Just moved into an apartment. I've been playing the shit out of Gamecube stuff, namely Metroid Prime and Resident Evil (aka REmake). The Wii Controls for the Primes are arguably better than the original controller controls. You are literally more in control of your cannon. your arm IS the cannon. It was really well done
Metroid Prime... I held off playing it for years because the controls intimidated me (the Trilogy Wii controls even more so), but goddamn... I forgot how much of a miracle this thing was. I always scoffed when people would bring up the idea of a first-person Castlevania, but playing this makes me believe it could be awesome.
My girlfriend bought us a copy of Valkyrie Profile and I've just started playing it. Wow. This has to be one of the most beautiful games on the PS1. And the story/premise seem promising. If you started playing and already love the game, wait until you see the rest. It's totally awesome!

And then, play Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria for the PS2. That's one of my favourite games ever!
VP is an incredible saga!
Well, the merge pissed me too, but I guess it was my fault, because I spent all leveling on the princess, and when they merged I found her terribly leveled down, with all my other characters very low also, because I never gave them much.
So I couldn't beat the game and I had to start all over again.
My brother just started Persona 4 today, he says it's looking really good.
For me, I'm just using my brand new PS Move (birthday gift from mom! :)). Right now trying it with GalGun.
This weekend, I believe I will play Okami, which I already played on the Wii, to see how it looks on HD.
Ive played very little of gods eater and it seems pretty cool
I have very good opinions of the Shin Megami saga, but I never played them so far.
It is, also there is this
Again definition of jailbait and she's russian reminds me of that kasumi cosplayer waffle posted awhile back.
Iknow how that feels I have never played vakyrie profile or legend of valkyrie either
Go play them! What's wrong with you!?
Actually, don't know about Legend of Valkyrie. But Definitely Valkyrie Profile. So good.
Ahhh it's times like this that I put that reto gamer badge to good use so in a nutshell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyrie_no_Densetsu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyrie_no_Densetsu)
she's also in namco x capcom, project x zone, and her outfit and weapons were available for select for use by Cassandra Alexandra in soulcalibur II (Ki 's costume and weapons from tower of Druaga was for Sophitia, her sister)
imho one of the most beautiful women in gaming (So she shows a little leg so what :-* ) I've seen, she also has an awesome theme to boot.

Namco X Capcom - Valkyrie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLkZXwYowTU#)
She beats odin sphere as for vp (never wanted to spoil my self but I'm going to watch more gameplay of the series has been years since I have seen a video) .
Valkyrie no Densetsu 1989 Namco Mame Retro Arcade Games (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHvPSfotlhM#ws)
Also in other news I've beaten mega-man 10 like an hour ago ahh it feels good to beat a game.
Otomedius Excellent was at the Bargain Bin for $15. I bought it.
I also bought Battle Phantasia and Child of Eden. $15 for both.
Plus a super cool chick I know got me Alan Wake.
Mass Effect 3. Knowing the ending's gonna suck is really taking away from the emotional impact of several scenes. >:(
Hah, I've got Alan Wake on my gaming slate too. I'll be working on that once I'm done with ME3.
And I've never seen Otomedius Excellent over here, but when I do, Kokoro'll be the only reason I get it.
The last of us is incredible. Just be careful with your saving because I lost 5 hours of progress in the game. My PS3 froze and the save data became corrupted. It really pissed me off.So far so good, the game is living up to the hype generated by all the media and my personal expectations.
Valkyrie No Densetsu!
That's one of my favourites arcade games!
I wonder, can you use the SELECT trick in the PSN version?
Shoot an ELEC BEAM at his eye, and right when it strikes the eye, press SELECT to pause the game. Then press SELECT to unpause, then very quickly press it again to Re-pause. That split second after you unpause counts as an extra hit, so you can beat the Yellow Devil in only maybe one shot if you time your pauses and your initial shot right...
You cannot do this trick in the MegaMan Collection or in MegaMan: The Wily Wars, but emulated titles, whether on PSN, VirtualConsole, or XBLA, should still probably have that old glitch.
I remember the day I finally beat that vicious bastard. It was long after I had met the challenges of MM2,3, & 4.
Rockman 1 is the hardest Megaman game, and one of the best soundtracks in the franchise.
It has aged well, because considering it is the first, and how old it is, it's wonderful how it plays by today standards (at least for me, because I love retro gameplay).

I don't think so, since Select doesn't work the same way it does on the NES version. I have the PS1 disk and it brings up a submenu.
However, there is still that awful, sadistic glitch where the game freezes if your last shot on Wily is an Elec Beam.
To actually contribute to the thread... Beat Metroid Prime 1 last weekend, so I've started on Echoes. It's okay so far, but I dislike the beam system and the progression in the Dark World (though it looks cool). The Power Beam also randomly decides to pause in your rapid fire which drives me up the fucking wall. It's like how in Metal Slug games past X, they decided to not let you fire the pistol as quickly when you're standing up... WHY?
I also played the NES Rygar and got further than I've ever been. Lord, this game is obtuse, but I guess not as much as, say, Metroid 1. The music is also pretty awful (see below):
Thttp://vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/rygar-2a.mid (http://Thttp://vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/rygar-2a.mid).
I still kind of dig the game, despite some baffling design choices.
1) -The Select button weapon multi hit glitch-
Multi-hitting single bomb explosion? WOW!
This is probably the most well known glitch in the game. This glitch works with all your weapons (even the Hyper Bomb) except the Rock Buster. It's easiest to do with the Rolling Cutter and Thunder Beam. Here is how it works. Shoot your weapon at an enemy, then the moment it makes contact press the "Select" button. The enemy will get hit, become stunned and start flashing. Then, wait until the flashing stops which means they are no longer stunned. When that happens, return to the game and immediately press the "Select" button once again. If you time it right the enemy will get hit again. You can repeat this as long as the weapon you used is still making contact with the enemy. This works wonders against the bosses. Also for the enemies that don't get stunned, you can just repeatedly press Select once the weapon makes contact. Cheap you say? VERY! I don't mean to brag but only use this sometimes against Elec Man, if at all because it takes away a lot of the challenge from the game and I already find this game easy without it.

What?! You didnt like the Rygar music?! I love that whole soundtrack! Especially this one Rygar - Sagila's Cave (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbx9Bcb08I4#)
You links all messed up on that song link btw. The game is a bit confusing in a CV2 kinda way but I still consider it a total classic and one of my fav NES games
@Pfil, what's your PSN? Multiplayer on The Last of Us rocks! As far as I know I can't play online, since my PS3 is a jailbreak one.
That game looks pretty fun. But Bayonetta is still at the top of the fetish-fule fighters I want to get when I eventually pick up a PS3. A list that consists of *checks* 2 games. Welp, I've got to have SOMETHING other than Sly Cooper to play to justify the eventual purchase to myself :IJust what comes out of my mind right now, I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I reccomend you Eternal Sonata, Folklore, Nier Gestalt, Star Ocean 4, Valkyria Chronicles, Resonance of Fate, Bayonetta, CV HD, Knights Contract, Skullgirls, Wizardry, Tales of Graces F, Ni No Kuni, Time and Eternity, Bioshock Infinite, Arkham Asylum, Rune Factory... Most of them are RPG's, and a couple of them I still have to play them, but there's plenty of great games on the PS3.
PS- Been playing some of the Killing Floor summer event.
all the main characters growing up in an orphanage together, and the main villain raising them, but none of them remembering ANY of it or each other.Well...
o.o;Cute owl! Makes me remember Charlotte! ♥
Im not saying anything about the story, since at the time that I played it I didnt understood english. But I like FF VIII more than VII, maybe its because its was my first FF game and my first RPG game (when I saw it in a bonus disc that came with Brave Fencer Musashi, I really liked it). It's one of those games you lend to someone, only to realize years later that in fact what you did was just giving it away.
Also this game have a special value to me, since I gained it in my birthday, only to be robbed by a friend years later ( :( )
I tried playing Odin Sphere, fought my second Manticore boss, then turned it off. I just couldn't get into the game at all. I'll keep it around just in case I try to give it another go, though.
Started playing Killer 7 instead. Though I have to admit, the 10 minutes or so that I've played of it so far made me feel completely lost. Still looks enjoyable, though.
Never played Odin Sphere, its like what game? I've played Muramasa and Im waiting for Dragon's Crown and their juicy melons.Haha! Juicy melons! You wouldn't choose me if I were a VG character, so... my atributes are not that nice :P

To answer your question, Odin's Sphere is a very rare and unique game, with some artistic graphics that really impressed me back in the times when it was released. It's all painted by hand, like an ancient picture. If there's something that comes to my mind when I think about Odin Sphere is how beautiful it looks.
If you played Muramasa, you can have a good idea of how the game looks, sounds and plays. They are different, but it shows they are from the same developer.
Now Dragon's Crown, while artistically similar, is very different in gameplay because it adds deepness to the scenarios.
I like flat chested too, boobs are only a bonus, not a must for me. So having or not big boobs doesnt change my decisions (thats a rare thing nowadays eh? lol)

Currently playing Dragon's Crown. REEEEAAAALLY enjoying it so far. The Amazon has my heart.

I'll dare say that judging from the pictures that you have post, i'll have to disagree, you have a perfect body and if b***s are firmly, i prefer them over big ones. Thanks! :) I see myself as skinny and tiny, though. Popular girls during high school had different (bigger) atributes.
I just like girls however I will say that I'm attracted to girls with short/medium hair(mostly brown hair on this one for some reason it different depending on the color hair for me) how could I explain it umm not to short I have to find a pic to explain it.You forgot to mention blue hair :P
You forgot to mention blue hair :P
Heehee... you know how to choose your girls, you have good taste...
You see that goes without saying and that's with anime ;D
But yes these hairstyles make me very... just add some green eyes and well :-[(click to show/hide)
A girl in italian class had hair similar to the second pic I talked to her alot but nothing happened.
Good taste means nothing, if you can't have them XD........Sometimes it does... :(

This sounds like a Forever Alone comic-strip. I imagine he looking to a photo in his cold PC screen. It's a line from one poem I wrote :)

Ice Ridley? Like in Metroid Fusion?
I've played Missile Command from Atari on Youtube right now, for real!
Best game ever (not quite but close), so keep playing. *SUDA51 fanboy waves his flag yet again*
At my new workplace, we have mandatory 30-minute breaks. I've been using them to play Sonic Advance 2. The Sonic Advance titles are all really great Sonic games, easily on par with the genesis titles in terms of fun factor, stylization, etc IMO. I love the added mechanics of trick jumps, rail grinding, and B-button attacks. I wonder why they abandoned those things in the more recent 2D games. They added a lot to the experience.Great games! All 3 of them!
I doesnt mean unofficial Famicom Twins, I mean unofficial consoles LOL
It plays the Japanese CV3 for example? I wish you best luck in fixing this problem.
It's the real thing...the ones that Sharp made in Japan. It used to play games (well, cartridge games, since it won't play FDS games and probably has a belt issue), but suddenly it won't power on. I got an adjustable AC adapter from Amazon, and that didn't do the trick. I think it's got a bad power receptacle.
I''m playing Final Fantasy 7 for the first time. I admit I'm not a fan of the series. I've tried playing several games but they don't hold my attention. After i kept hearing how divine it is I burrowed it from a friend and am now playing it.
Pocket Fighter on MAME, PS1, Saturn, or on my PS2, any way I can play it. It's a game most dismiss as a children's version of Street Fighter, but those folks would be very very wrong, it's quite the complex fighter, and it's where my Sakura avatar comes from (that and Super Puzzle Fighter II of course).
It's not just the adjustable adapter you have right? Do you also have a japanese transformer?

If you don't have one over time you can blow a famicom out and I'm sure that the sharp is 100v.

I recently picked up The Elder Scrolls Anthology yesterday. God dayam! I never though Bathesda would ever put one together. It has all the main titles: Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. It also comes with detailed maps and all the DLCs for TES 3, 4 and 5.Wow! That sounds as a great collection item! Is it available in retail or just as digital download?

I challenge you to a duel :P
You should play it Ratty, I have the PS1 and PS2 versions around (PS2 via Street Fighter Alpha Anthology), the PS1 versions nice, but is missing some key animations (like knocking your opponent around the world, one of the games best animations IMO). I do want the Saturn version in my collection, especially when I found out some of the Darkstalker characters had renames when the series came to America. Lei Lei was one, and I prefer this name to the one Capcom gave her in the west. Hsien-Ko doesn't necessarily roll off the tongue as well as Lei Lei does, and especially now that I'm starting to want to get into Darkstalkers, and because I'm also on a heavy Capcom fighting game fever craze right now.
Plus the Saturn version of Pocket Fighter has voice acting for the ending, but sadly not in English, doesn't matter though as the game is very charming.
Wow! That sounds as a great collection item! Is it available in retail or just as digital download?
You should try out the Darkstalkers OVA, some parts of the plot(s) might be a bit hard to follow (it's based on a Capcom fighter after all) but the animation is gorgeous and it's surprisingly faithful to the game story. The Saturday Morning cartoon is funny but only if you're into painfully cheesy, badly written and worse animated 90s cartoons.
Speaking of fighting games, Capcom Vs SNK 2. I have had that game nearly 2 damned years, but the thing never worked properly and would freeze after the first round, and trying to access the options menu would also freeze the game (it worked fine in PCSX2, so I investigated on a second PS2). Well I quickly put the CD cover back on to my other PS2, got the game to load, but the music still had issues (apparently the music tracks are fucked). Reset and before the music could get trashed, I went into the options menu, disabled it, saved to memory card, then started playing. Got all the way to Shin Akuma and gave up out of frustration of his cheapness. I then booted the game back into my modded PS2 with the memory card, and since I had the music disabled and saved that way, this PS2 now runs it very well as well.
All in all the games fine without the music, so long as it's playable finally after that length of time of frustration.
So why you dont make a backup copy to play in your modded PS2? At least it should stop doing that if you burn it 4x.
No, it's retail. It would be too big to download otherwise.I'll see if I can get it in my country. I was planning on playing those games after I loved Skyrim, so what better way to do it than with a collection set of original games?
I can live without the music, it's being able to play that's important (that and I have no DVD's here, or experience burning them). The disc runs surprisingly fine in emulation with this disc (not an issue with music at all, surprisingly), but I noticed there's a small crack right at the center of the ring. I believe this is the culprit for my troubles. But for now, I am pleased I can just play it without any more issues once the music was disabled on a console.
My Saturn also has been finicky with Street Fighter Alpha 2 as well, again emulation runs the disc flawlessly for some reason. Again the console won't play the music, but the game doesn't stutter/freeze. I do have the PS2 Anthology for this which has no issues as I bought it near new, but sometimes these ports have extra modes not found in the original arcade games/Anthology.
I've been (in vain) trying to get to some of the endings in Haruhi Suzumiya for the PS3.
Does that game ever end? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it's been like 10 hours, and since I don't understand most of the text, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
But the same scenes keep repeating over and over, no matter what I do.
Maybe Shiroi or someone invested in that kind of games can help me...
Valdis Story: Abyssal City! Rare example of completely perfect Metroidvania game with RPG elements. Just don't know what else to say about it. :) The game's epic:Great!
Thanks for the answer! :)
My problems with the original NSMB are just a few. I don't consider it a bad game, or mediocre. It's good. It's just I expected more from Mario. It was very short and easy (I completed it in a single playthrough, I put the game, I played some hours, and it was gone). And I found the music lacking what I like to have in a Mario game in musical terms.
But it's not Sonic Colours, don't get me wrong (I know, now someone will say they liked Sonic Colours...).
If there are some elements of Galaxy in 3DLand I will enjoy that, for sure. I liked everything in Galaxy, with the only exception of some random mini games that I found out of place.
I liked Galaxy 2 better, though.
If the new game for WiiU focus on multiplayer chaotic kind of gameplay, I will surely be bored, since I like to play alone anyway, and I don't enjoy chaotic multiplayer.
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, and it's scaring the shit out of me. As per the game's instructions, I've been playing it at night by myself, with headphones and with all the lights turned off. I've been at the same place for the past few days and every time I move forward something does this ungodly pig scream and charges at me from the shadows, I can't see it properly because my lantern flickers on and off and the more it flickers the closer it comes until oh god oh god oh god oh-
*dies*
But yeah, it's a really intense and straight-up frightening game. It's a much different horror than Amensia: The Dark Descent. That one focused more on the feeling of constantly being stalked by things and desperately managing meager, rapidly-dwindling resources. A Machine For Pigs is far more atmospheric (which is saying something since its predecessor was pretty damn atmospheric already) and there's a greater emphasis on character development. The story is very engaging too.
I've also been playing Outlast, from the guys who did the original Splinter Cell games. It's just as frightening. You're trapped in a mental asylum (truly breaking new ground in the horror genre i know) but it's just so damn creepy. When you have two stark naked blood-soaked beefcakes leering at you from the other side of a gate calmly telling you how they're going to kill you and which of your internal organs they're going to eat first you know you're fucked.
Ok, Super Mario 3D Land is a GREAT game.I will :)
It's better than any of the "New Super Mario Bros" DS/3DS games out right now in terms of stage layouts, replay value, and just overall content.
THERE IS SO MUCH CONTENT!
Please do yourself a favor and get this game.
If you have a choice between New Super Mario Bros. 2 and this, GET THIS. IT IS BETTER! I AM ALL-CAPSING HERE FOR A REASON!
looks like thats the old eye of the beholder engine. The followups to the classic goldbox dnd games. I _love_ some of the goldbox games specifically those set in the forgotten realms. I saw you talkin about this and thought Id somehow missed a goldbox ravenloft all these years! I still didnt know (or didnt remember) the EoTB based one tho!! Ill have to look it up

Finished Simon the Sorcerer for MS DOS (1993).
Fantastic game, and aged very well. The pixelated graphics look really good for a 2D point-and-click adventure game, the animation is solid and beautiful, the music is nice and the voice acting, well, it's top of the scale. I haven't played many adventure games with voice acting and pulling it off is not easy. And best of all, the game is funny. Making a funny game is a difficult task, and that game succeeded. Some parts of the dialog are ingeniously written.
For instance, my favorite part is one where you encounter a strange creature fishing, and he tells you "I'm looking for my precious", to what Simon responds with "Isn't that an infringement of copyright?" ;D
My only complaint is that some of the in-game riddles are quite darn difficult to figure out. The game is based around an open-world where you need to find certain items to solve various problem, and sometimes the ways to solve the problem seem quite random. Other than that, it's perfect.
Fire Emblem: Gaiden
Decided to play through Blood Omen for old time's sake.
Vae Victis!

too late to the party with Lego LoTR. smash all the legos..... :D
I always hear those are fun but I've never played one. I got one of the Star Wars ones for Gamecube but don't want to play it, afraid anything associated with the prequels may be so bad as to turn me off the idea lol.
I don't know about the other Lego games since the one I mentioned is my first Lego game. So far, it is faithful to the LoTR movie trilogy but with extra playable lego characters like Tom Bombadil, Gilgalad, Fatty Bolger, etc.
The most fun I have is with the exploration aspect of the game. It is just that I'm playing it on the 3ds and the ps3 version have much more cutscenes, items, characters and hidden areas for exploration based on what I see online.
Finally got around to loading up some games on my PS2's HDD and I'm trying out a bunch of Horror games I never got to play. Haunting Ground, Fatal Frame 3, Clock Tower 3, and going to go back and play Silent Hill Origins on a big screen since I only played it on PSP before.

Been playing Metroid Prime since I figured I never played it on Trilogy before. The wiimote seems to make things easier.
Also been emulating a crapton of stuff. Mostly roms hacks and such, but I finally got around to playing Recca. Needs unlimited sprites turned on, but dang that game's amazing.

Picked up Threads of Fate and Alundra, and for Christmas' sake, The Grinch!
Threads of Fate has surprisingly very good Graphics with the low-poly technique
Alundra is pretty awesome
I played the Grinch before, I loved it as a kid, now It's okay, but I'm playing with the Nostalgia Goggles
The 'hardcoded to 24-fps' is an assumption. Citation needed (but it seems to be for the gameplay/voiceacting reasons I mentioned).
The game doesn't require a wiimote (it's not a motion game). On the Wii I play it with a Wiimote with a Classic Controller. On the Wii Emulator I... still use that, since the emulator uses your bluetooth adapter (if you have one) to sync to a wii remote (if you have one). However, you can configure a 'virtual' game controller' and a 'virtual classic controller' so it's very possible to play this by faking the system with an emulated wiimote/classicontroller setup.
wild arms 1 for me is the intro theme. I still listen to it all the time. Infact I just played it in the car for my gf not even an hour ago!
Wild ARMs 1 did have a good opening theme. I played about 7 hours of that but lost interest. Guess I'll get around to playing it properly one of these days.
Beat Ys 1, great game except for the bosses. Like that final boss had to be at least 50% luck, I hate that kind of lazyness.

I've been playing Dungeon Defenders as of now. It's pretty good though the bosses suck.
My friend stumbled across an old Elvira machine. 'Nuff said
Silent Hill and dreaming of a proper graphics remake for it.
Have you guy's seen this indie game ?

very cool Metroidvania combination. and is very challenging too and come with a great replay value.
I think I beat it.... with the monk girl. Game is hard... and the time thing is a bit annoying. But it is cool though.
STILL playing Xenoblade Chronicles. I need to hit this one up more than once a month if I'm going to beat it before the sequel comes out.
I LOVED Dark Legacy in the arcades. Me and 3 of my friends played it til we beat it multiple times all standin in an actual arcade. I never did like the consoles versions tho =/I believe they just consoled it up for home use, all it really is is an expansion to Legends. They I believe added the crystals to force a linearity to the levels and added the hubworld that wasn't present in the arcade version. Playing Legends arcade version, Dark Legacy in arcades I remember feeling exactly the same.
Double Dragon Trilogy on the new Galaxy Note I just got. They actually did a really good job with this one: slowdown removed from the first 2 games, bluetooth controller support, some insightful (but short) history on each of the games, and the option to switch between the official soundtrack music and the original BGM. Only 3 bucks, too. Seems like there was a lot of care put into this one, especially for a cheap mobile game.I've only played Double Dragon Neon. I thought it was super fun. I had a blast with it.
Now if Million Corp would only make a BRAND NEW Double Dragon game...I'd die happy.
Sloughing through the first "Breath of Fire". It's not a bad game really it's just nothing special. Especially since the music is pretty repetitive and the inventory system is a mess. By all accounts the 2nd game is a lot better except for the awful official translation.
The music is pretty great though:

and Bucky O'Hare for the NES. The latter is pretty awesome...just played through it yesterday. Has all the traits of a good Konami action platformer from back then.
I agree! This game is one of the few that actually did things with NES hardware that I never though it was able to do. Bucky O' Hare was one of the few NES titles to sport multi-scrolling backgrounds giving the game just that much more depth to it. That, and the music was awesome as well. I found a rearrangement of the soundtrack;

I was playing Castlevania Chronicles earlier, and I finally made it past Level 2, the part with the raft. The boss is actually pretty easy, and the raft part isn't really that long, but it is so easy to get knocked off.
Finally finished Strider. The storyline was a bit dull, but the game was pretty fun to play overall.
I tried giving Actraiser 2 another go, but man, I just didn't like it very much. Too many cheap hits by ghosts that can materialize anywhere. Anyone who hates the medusa heads from Castlevania would curse and scream at these. I actually switched it to easy mode before getting annoyed and just quitting altogether. If anything, I just wanted to go back and play the first game instead.
EDIT: Also started an Aria game last night on Hard. Been wanting to play this one again for a while. Maaaaan...the story makes me cringe, but the gameplay makes up for it.
Taking a break from playing Shantae and the pirate's curse for now. Yesterday I bought Alien: Isolation the Nostromo edition for PS4. So I'll see what it's all about when I start playing it.
Xpadder. All the way. Ive used every kinda keyboard to joystick program Ive come across over the years and xpadder is the only one Ill use anymore. It does everything you need it to and all with a really solid ui to see what goin on and how
That and sometimes you'll inadvertently trigger a cutscene where a bridge breaks or something, so you can't go back without replaying the level. That's one of my pet peeves.
Baldur's Gate 1.
I think... I may give her the Gamecube version, but I'm still on the fence.
Space is an issue, since the USB 64GB drive is going to be holding emuNAND (an emulated System Menu, where I may be putting N64 Paper Mario if it works, and maybe some other goodies), and I think the Wii version of Twilight Princess takes up more space than the Gamecube version....
...but yeah I'm undecided on that. I guess I'll see once the flashdrive starts filling up.
+1 for Secret of Evermore!
Last tuesday I buy Contra Shattered Soldier in a "market-on-wheels" (dunno how is the real word in english :P) at a bargain price, in my opinion. I only play a few minutes, and is hard as hell!!! But satisfying at the same time.
That's right. Hard as hell and yet so satisfying. And when you unlock the specials you can see the entire history of the contra series and how all the games up to Shattered Soldier fit in. Though keep in mind it is the Japanese story and not the American version.
Just bought Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for my PS4 so I'm giving that a whirl.
Is that Metroid Prime II: Dark Echo?

I love Blaster Master and the soundtracks awesome! I dunno if any of you guys have seen this guys vids on youtube but he has huge playlists of nothing but NES soundtracks hes made into "stereo" the first one has 199 full soundtracks in each video. Ive listened to the entire thing and on my 2nd time thru it now. Totally awesome

Been playing SOTN on PSP for the first time. I got to the inverted castle and then found the Crissagram nearly right away! And then I died! And haven't been able to get it back!
Everyone says SOTN is easy but some rooms in that inverted castle are TOUGH.
Castlevania 3 has been tough. The bosses are actually super easy for me, only take one or two tries to kill. But the levels, damn.
The graphics in this game are insanely good. I gave CV1 a shot after playing a bunch of CV3, and the difference was night and day. Just the difference in the moss stuck to the castle walls is huge. The art in the Mad Forest is the best art I've seen on NES.

I've been playing a lot of Simon's Quest on my Ouya. It's nice not having to save or deal with passwords.
I'm more playing for inspiration than I am to beat the game again. Simon's Quest is in my top 3 CV's for its music. There is something very ominous and menacing about it.
Well after finishing Maxim mode in HoD I went back to give a crack at Albus mode. I'm doing something terribly wrong here i know it. Can Albus make it to the Large Cavern/Training Hall? If so I may just quit now and save myself the pain. :-X
Just beat SOTN for Saturn and Legends. I'm pretty much out of games atm lol. I did pick up Rare Replay and its excellent!
SSOTN is great, I don't care what the consensus is!! XD
Revisited Castlevania Chronicles JPN (No Miss Mode) and beat it, much like what I did in the past 3 years.
What is 'no miss' mode?
Enter file name "NOMIS" and start a new game, Simon will stand there, but with one life unit. Simon can still eat meat/use herb, but his life meter will be restored to one unit after finishing a Block/Level.

what? gargoyles quest is on 3ds? Just the vc versions right? gb and nes? If so I got those. Either way tho hell yes. Those games are fantastic
Finished Gargoyle's Quest, onto GCII
I was the happiest clam in the entire world
Yeah, it takes ages for Pure Bladestone to drop. I was the happiest clam in the entire world when mine finally did.

Balls-deep into Bloodborne at the moment, hoping by the time I'm done, the rumors of a Demon's Soul remaster will be true and the game's well on its way. I've never played any of the Souls games and I'm excited to backtrack and check 'em out in time for Dark Souls III (highly doubt I'll play 'em all by then).
Already mentioned but doing Fallout 4. after playing through the game for a while I find it feels depressing. But that's just the ambient background music getting to me. And there's not a whole lot of variation either. My fix was this; turned of the ambient music and instead turned on my mp3 player to supplement the background bgm. I had a blast!
currently 400+ hours into MGSV: TPP. just got into FOBs a few weeks ago. dang this game is incredible. FOB is like MGS2 on steroids.
Speaking of MGSV, i've not yet finished that game. It's funny. I've completed almost all of the entire series not counting the acid titles since I've never played them. Not fond of card games like that. The three games I cannot seem to complete are MG Portable Ops, MGS Peacewalker, and MGSV. I not sure why that is. Maybe I find that they go on for too long where-as the earlier games were the right amount of playtime and the only thing I had to focus on was the mission at hand--not constructing and running a business.
Juste mode is actually easier as he has a working inventory.
The RNG is crazy when affected the sickles summoned by Death RANDOMLY. Not sure if there is a staple way to finish Death without being hit
Re-visited Castlevania Chronicles and this time heading for a no-damage run of US version or a speedrun (To surpass WR is hopeless....) Or just give up if can't record a vid properlyI don't think I could even do a no-damage run of Castlevania Chronicles, especially due to Death (as mentioned) and that pit in the final level.

Destiny
Despite all of it's flaws, I still find it really enjoying, especially with a few friends.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
After putting it off for years, I finally started Ninja Gaiden II (360). I'm on chapter 4 so far. It's fun, but the camera is awful. Starting to get used to the controls, but it just seems like you can't cover very much ground when you need to evade quickly, like on the chapter 3 boss.
So far, so good, but I'm still just dreading the point when this game officially hands my ass to me. I don't know when it'll happen, but I know it's coming.

Gaiden II does not pose the challenge of its predecessor. Specifically not GI on hard mode.
Heh, that's...disappointing and relieving at the same time. Just got to Volf's castle, and I'm still learning moves. The only thing I've really been using is the Dragon Sword with Izuna Drop, Flying Swallow, OTs and UTs.
I still gotta get out of the Souls mindset of slower, more methodical combat. One weird thing that has seemed to help with a few bosses I've gotten stuck on (like the lightning guy, can't remember his name) is to just forget trying to learn enemy patterns and just be aggressive as hell. Can't believe it actually worked in a few spots.
(like the lightning guy, can't remember his name)
Checked some bootleg hacks of King of Fighters 2002, and revisited my dear CV Chronicles
In "10th anniversary version" or "KOF 2005 unique" bootleg versions, expanding the existing parameter of original version characters is actually an interesting idea, but player version of Rugal sucks (The motion of Bead Destruction and Kaiser Wave are as slow as taking shit, Genocide Cutter only 2 hits)
The boss version Rugal seems normal, but defense level is paper level (like player version) when controlled by players. And in Practice mode, if Boss Rugal chosen, player Rugal will come instead. I think there's a Boss switch that keeps the Boss Rugal with normal/boss level defense is unique to CPU, but that's nothing important at all. Both version of Rugal in "2005 unique" sucks.
Also I like the VA of 2002 Rugal because he's the same person who did Dracula's Japanese VA in SotN and I can, actually, feel some Dracula in it. It's a shame that Rugal's VA changed to a new-recorded one in 2002UM.
Samurai Shodown Part whatever hits me at the moment, more than likely 3.
Was it III or IV that was on PSX?Both of them actually, but only 3 came to the US. 3 had a ton of loading (I still have my copy, my first owned Sam Sho title), and 4 the music restarts every round, but the loading is a little less.
I thought it was cool but had plenty of lag.

Recently picked up Resident Evil: Origins Collection for the PS4. Since it has the improved control scheme I should have more fun with playing the game rather then navigating the D-Pad just to move forwards :P
How is it?
Played a little bit of RE Origins Collection today and I have to say that the controls are good. I can get into the game without the D-Pad's old-style controlling driving me nuts while I'm trying to survive. Although juggling resources is still a hassle as I want to keep everything I find, lol.
But Origins is a HD remaster of REmake and RE Zer0 isn't it? So the controls would more than likely be the same for those too.
RE Zer0 and the original RE, yes. I've played them both prior to the origin's collection and the D-Pad controls were always bothering me. You can still use the D-Pad but now you can also use the stick, which I'm doing. The game's going that much faster for me and I'm getting into the game with more of an interest then before.
I've been taking a bit of a break from gaming in favor of writing, but I'm still finding the time to get in some Dino Crisis.
I wanna shake the hand of Shinji Mikami for his awesome job at pitching this to Capcom.
"Okay, I have the perfect idea to capitalize on the popularity of Resident Evil, guys."
"What is it?"
"Resident Evil."
"..."
"WITH DINOSAURS."
":o"
" :-X"
"BRILLIANT."
Dino Crisis could definitely use a revamp, especially with the modern RE action style, too bad we were left with Dinosaurs in SPAAAACE.
Recently I've had a Parodius itch to scratch. And with my new SNES-esque controller, playing them is a blast :D
Nice, I've got the SS version.Auto power up mode in 1 player mode is the way to die, and keep going. Personally I hate that mode because you never get enough speed ups (2 is ideal). Great, great series, shame it ended on a strategy game.
Thing I hated about it is playing 1p the game stops when you die whereas 2p keeps going.
The SS/ PSX versions were my favourite though and slightly different from what I recall.
I used to main Michael :p
Giving Fallout: New Vegas my first try-out. After playing some more of Fallout 4 I had to give its predecessors a play. I'm enjoying it so far. Had my keester handed to me by those damned scorpions! Not so thrilled about that part... >:(
Was that right after you leave the first town? That's when I first encountered those things, and I got promptly wrecked, too.
I saw the Nerd's Paperboy video and tried it out myself. I suck at that game...can't even get through Wednesday. Just like when I was a kid! :P
Anyone played this? I'm thinking about getting it, not that I will necessarily have time to play it ;)
Just played through Valis on the Genesis. Really not much more than a distraction for an hour or so. Not outright bad by any means, but not really great, either. :-\Valis 3 on the Genesis is really good, but you might be better off playing the PCE CD versions of 1,3, and 4 (2 was the first released for the PCE CD, and was not very good, poor game has no good versions it seems). 3 and especially 4 though, are amazing on the PC Engine, 1 is pretty nice too. 3 has three playable characters like the Genesis version, and 4, unlike Super Valis IV on SNES, has 3 selectable characters as well, just no Yuuko as she is now a goddess in the series.
I fired up my PS4 copy of Shovel Knight and was surprised to see that after finishing the game, I was treated to playing the game again as Plague Knight. But OH-MY-GOD is it hard! Hard as F**K! The Levels are still the same however Plague Knight' control scheme is much different then that of Shovel Knight. And that is where the majority of the difficulty lies. The jumping is where I had the most trouble. Especially in areas that require you to leap across great chasms or tricky spots. There is a way to do it but it takes a bit of practice. But I tell ya, I was cursing and cussing almost through the entire game. I had to stop at Mole knight's lair before I could get any more riled up >:(
I started with SR3 as well. The game SR2 a try after that. And yes the level of absurdity is part of its charm, lol. It will get more-so near the end too.
Eternal Ring
That is one game I always wondered about but never got to play. Hope it's good.
Now that AM2R has re-affirmed my love for Metroid, I decided to plug some holes in my backlog...namely, the Prime games. For some odd reason, I got a good ways into the first one, but never finished it. And stories of the second's difficulty made me run away as a chicken. ;)
BUT...having come across Metroid Trilogy for 40ish bucks, I've dusted off my long-neglected Wii...and the fun has begun. :D
I loved the first Prime, but Prime 2 seriously annoyed me...that might be why I haven't played the third one yet, I don't know. The bosses were fun, but the backtracking and ammo were irritating. (Not to say that backtracking is a bad thing, but it just felt tedious in Prime 2
I didn't really care for Prime 3. I've only played through it once, so I do owe it a second go. But I think all the characters and dialogue made it feel like less of a Metroid to me. And it felt unfinished. The snowy section of whatever planet that was seems so tiny, like they intended to do more with it but never got that far. I did like the motion controls quite a bit though.
This would be a good time for me to check out the Phantasy Star games on there, as well...
I've gone back to Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection to check out some more games and eventually get the platinum trophy for the hell of it. I really like Fatal Labyrinth...that one was a nice surprise for me. It's supposed to be a roguelike dungeon crawler (although I think it just gives you floors in a random order and doesn't actually procedurally generate them), and it's really primitive, but not in a bad way. It's pretty fun.
This would be a good time for me to check out the Phantasy Star games on there, as well...
I have that collection, and due to not having a second pad to play 2 player Sonic 2, and kill the first boss, I can't unlock the original SMS Phantasy Star. :(
Now I just beat Sonic Spinball. And now I never have to play Sonic Spinball ever again in my life. Yay!
It's a pretty hard game
It had the opposite effect for me...I just hated it more as it went on. It had some good ideas for the boards, but just executed poorly. I thought the physics felt wonky, too, but I guess it's kind of a lost cause to expect realistic physics in a game like this. Although it was nice to be able to control Sonic in midair somewhat.
It does kind of make me want to play Pinbot on that pinball collection they sell on PSN, though. That one is awesome.
Now I just beat Sonic Spinball. And now I never have to play Sonic Spinball ever again in my life. Yay!
Just to add, I hate Mean Bean Machine.
I think it's a better version of Dr Mario/ Tetris II
I agree. I just wish its AI opponents weren't so ruthless. It seems like you have to luck your way into a good chain to beat them.
I'd rather play the game it's based off of, Puyo Puyo if I do say so myself. More likeable characters than what Sega gave us here in the US (Sonic, etc).
Grounder is a badnik from Sonic 2.

But it was weird because on the Ultimate Collection disc, it was giving me unlimited lives. I never remember that from the original. Maybe a bug?
I...er...used save states. :-[ There's no way I could beat Stage 2 legit.
But it was weird because on the Ultimate Collection disc, it was giving me unlimited lives. I never remember that from the original. Maybe a bug?
How many times have I smelled Robotnik's socks?
Puyo Puyo is fun to play but the only legit copy that I have of it is the mini game version found in Project Mirai.
That's a few games, and I still have the desire to get more, though Puyo Puyo Tsuu on PCE CD is impossible now as it has hit the $100 mark. The PCE Puyo's have the honor of having the main character Arle voiced by Kitono Mitsuishi, aka Sailor Moon.
Ahahahaha! That is the reason for the price increase.
Yet the first game on PCE CD remains cheap, and she voiced Arle there too. ;D
Hush... once the sailor moon fans get hold of that info.... ;D
Also Ys: Oath in Felghana. Why is this game so fun?
Been trying to play GGXrdR, but the lobby function won't work properly, so mainly have to play it in the player lobbies and offline. When I do get a match it's really fun.
I could never get into Xrd.
I was a massive fan of GG1, X and played my share of midnight carnival. But for some reason Xrd just never scratched me where I was itching.
Thunder Force III.
Got a strange GBC game cartridge labled "Castlevania 2 Fuu'en Chapter". Just when I wonder if the ROM had been dumped it was spread on the Internet.
It's a pirate/bootleg port, based on Legend of Fuma/Getsu Fuu Ma Den on FC/NES, and they actually did a good job to port it to GBC.
They didn't forget to turn the background tiles to more Castlevania-akin
It has fluent and bright background that looks amazing on my GBA-SP and I like it more than original now

Soul Blazer. Fucking LOVE this game! So what if its a Zelda clone? Lol i like how all the environments change when you start to clear out the monster lairs and free the citizens 8) great OST too!
Nothing wrong with that, Alundra was a Zelda rip-off and even innovated upon Zelda, and did a much better job imho.
Alundra...great game. I'm still kind of pissed that I somehow left the map insert at the out-of-town video game store I bought it from, though.
Playing Gargoyle's Quest II right now. Seems pretty much par for the course when compared to the first one.
Oh, I didn't mean that to sound like a complaint, I like both games.
I did kind of cheese my way through it to save time, though...I used save states to avoid losing lives and having to backtrack after a continue.
I hate the camera and I think it hates me too. :( I think I must muddle with the camera options in game next time I boot up the console.
Garou Mark of the Wolves PS2 via argh matey ways till the day I find an affordable copy. Trying to learn someone other than Terry, Hotaru has been that person after I used her in KoF XI.look on the bright side, the PC version is out now, and the particular version you have does widescreen flawlessly.
Last few days I played YS: Foliage Ocean in Celceta little bit on my PSV. I was confused and wandered in several places for hours. Then I didn't decide to continue. Everything else of the game was at my OK-level, but sadly it's definitely not my game.
I remembered I didn't decide to continue YS 7 for very similar reasons.
I finally got around to playing Metroid 2: Return of Samus, which I'd bought awhile back on the 3DS Virtual Console. It was pretty good, and now I'm replaying (or more like re-re-re-re-re-re-replaying) Super Metroid. I really wish a new game would come out for this series...maybe something that makes more use of both the X parasite and the various forms of Metroids somehow.
Playing Hyper Void, it's a cross between Galaga DX and Lylat Wars.
I think the problem with Celceta was that the overworld was a bit confusing. It's really hard to figure out where to go at the beginning of the game, and you can easily wind up in an area you really aren't supposed to be in. The map is pretty confusing and doesn't give you a good idea of where you're supposed to be going. It just shoves two flags onto a blank map.Exactly.
Exactly.
Also I'm not fond of the type of games that I can't continue if I closed those walkthrough strategy guides/reference videos online. Setting some extraordinary confusing flags in too much repeating places simply doesn't work at all. Or at least it don't work on me
I'm slowly making my way through The Last Guardian. As an enormous fan of Shadow of the Colossus, I had high hopes for TLG. But the frequently-horrible camera is kinda killing it for me, as well as occasional issues getting Trico to do what I want him to. I just reached a part a few hours in where I guessed the solution to a puzzle within 30 seconds or so, but I gave up and scoured the area for other solutions just because the game's AI wouldn't recognize my controller inputs, which were correct from the start. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to control issues, but this game is ridiculous, especially given its 9-year development period.
10 hours of FFXV... So far so good :)
Take your sweet time. I'm at 55 hours and delaying the main quest (currently at chap 6) again (took a lot of time sidequesting in chap 3) for even more side quests.
Yes definitely have been questing and doing a lot of hunts. I'm planning to see how far I can get without using Ascension, so far I'm on chapter 3 and I haven't touched it and touch wood no deaths thus far.
Healing items and phoenix downs are cheap or Gladio picks them up for free while walking when his survival level is high enough. I haven't gotten a game over screen yet but I had a close encounter with an effing coeurl who one-shotted me. The game gives you a few seconds to use a phoenix down.
Cool. :) Are you enjoying it? I think it's great so far.
Yes. I feel that I'm part of the road trip. Do not forget to listen to the radios scattered around because some important story points are narrated there and they change every chapter or so. I love the idea that the game lets you do things at your own pace.
I love fishing! It was the first skill that I maxed to 10. hahaha.
I've currently taken a short hiatus from the game due to year end festivities and stuff. But I'll return to it once things get back to normal next year.
Got Doom 3 BFG Edition, but decided on playing the first two games that came with. Played the first Doom up to Thy Flesh Consumed and it's pretty fun and I can see why people would consider it a classic. Then I did a bit of 2 and it pretty much seems like the first game, but with more monsters and the super shotgun thrown in. That's not really a bad thing though, I liked the first one and I welcome more of it.
True classics. And they're really endless games since you can always download more fan made levels and total conversions free and legally.I know, right? It's awesome.
I know, right? It's awesome.
Too bad I got the PS3 version. :P
Oh really, I haven't been fishing since that first side quest, must get back into it.
On what you were saying before about Gladio picking up items etc I haven't seen this, but I'm also not very leveled up via camping as I generally try not to level up too high despite my questing habits. I've just done a couple of quests that really took their toll though, as a result I'm down a substantial amount of cash and just evened out as we speak. Fun times though, I've beaten every rank 2 quest available, I'm nearly at 3, and I believe on around L15-16, still no ascension.
Same, I'm actually renting a house with some friends on the coast over NY's. It'll be like personal questing ;)
I'm actually really looking forward to coming back and playing FFXV, and I can't say I've felt like this about a game in a very long time. It's not like being overjoyed (the way I used to feel about opening a new Castlevania game in the past) but it's more like being secretly impressed, like a slow but intense burn.
I hope your festivities are fun Shiroi.
Now playing Mega Man 10...what a weird one. I went through all of the regular stages thinking, "what's with the shop items? This game is easy! Why would I need these?" Then I get to the Wily stages and realize that I need to max out on all weapons and energy tanks to stand a chance (at least for me anyway). Haven't seen a difficulty curve like this in a while. Now I think I'm too lazy to give the Wily stages a go again. I just don't know if I can be bothered at this point, lol. The game is so by-the-numbers, anyway...nothing bad, but nothing great...it's just kind of there. Now I think I want to go back and play MM2 or MM3 instead.
I've still been playing FFXV, pumped about 50 hours into it thus far. It's a damn good game. If anyone mentions it, please no spoliers! As I've gone out of my way to avoid them all this time.
I've got 103 hours from loads of sidequesting and I plan to finish the main story tomorrow~♪
That's fantastic - you deserve a trophy :P, I'd pumped 12 hrs into FFXII, and this looks like it will probably be longer, I hope.
FINISHED THE GAME TODAY!!! ;D
107 hours at level 75. Lol super OP for the final boss but who cares. The ending is so beautiful. I did shed a tear or two but I told myself not to cry so that I can watch all the cut scenes uninterrupted. My mom did all the crying for the both of us though. Dang those feels. :'(
I will return back Eos to finish all of the remaining hunts, collect all the recipehs, fish all the fish, and get the last 2 trophies for my first ever platinum. 8)
I have a massive urge to cross stitch something from the game but I will have to wait until someone online renders that into vector mode or something similar.
Finished all the Shantae games and then moved on to Monster World (MWIV and WBIMW beat).WBIMW and MWIV are really good games. When I was a kid I played the former and didn't even know the latter was a game until its appearance on the PSN. MWIV wins out for me though, it's a good game, I think I may still be on the leaderboards for time attack.
Now playing Transformers Devastation. Didn't know Platinum did this one...seemed kind of boring at the very beginning, but it's not too bad now. I never knew after all these years that Megatron turns into a tank now, instead of a handgun. Makes more sense, I guess.
In Transformers G.I.Joe comics the Cobra organisation retrofits Megatron into a tank. Then there was that time where Japan had a toy Megatron that transformed into... a Mega Drive. This is (or was) a real product.
Been playing Double Dragon Neon in anticipation of Double Dragon IV. I wonder how IV will hold up to the other games?
Maybe I'm naive, but I'm just really excited that they're making a brand new one, and not a remake of the first game for the 1024th time. Instant purchase for me, but then again, I'm a huge DD fan.
Just played Metal Slug 3 for the first time. Meh. I know a lot of people love the Metal Slug games, but it just made me wish I was playing Contra instead.
Now I'm about to wrap up the Resident Evil HD Remake. Man, I forgot how much I love the first game. I've always been a fan of games 1 through 4 in the series, but nothing beats the setting of the first game.
Yeah, I never got into the Metal Slug games, Contra is much more fun.
Just played Double Dragon II on NES...playing DDIV made me want to play DDII just for the sake of comparison.
The worst thing about Super Double Dragon is that (IIRC) the publisher rushed it out the door, and used smaller cart space than the developers intended. They had a handful of several ideas that they were supposed to put in the game, but they got the axe thanks to time/space constraints. I think there was an interview at the Double Dragon Dojo about it with one of the developers. The Japanese version is a bit more complete with the extended final stage and all, but still not the same as what they intended (same thing happened with DD Advance, which turned out to be an excellent game, but had a lot of stuff dropped for the same reasons).
I also wished they could've had better character design and more environmental hazards to spice up the stages a bit, then it could've been fun.
Once more playing Fallout New Vegas (the regular game). I own both the regular game and the re-released ultimate edition. However after play NV:UE I was disappointed with the constant threat of the assassin squads that appear to hound you for ever twenty to thirty minutes at a time. And to top things off you waste lots of precious resources just to survive because they are stupid-tough. I guess Bethesda thought it would be a good idea to make such a change in the game. No Bethesda, no it wasn't a good idea. Despite not having any of the DLC the regular game is far more enjoyable to me. Sometimes less is more and Bethesda proved that with their error.
I kind of want to start playing Nioh but I'm still waiting to see if it's actually a decent game or just another meme.
Do they still spawn after you kill Caesar? I can't remember.
If you like Souls, you'll probably like it. A mate of mine is a huge souls buff and he thinks Nioh is the bee's knees. What if I only love-hate Souls?
What if I only love-hate Souls?
The PS1 version of Real Bout Garou Densetsu (Real Bout Fatal Fury). This port is about 85% of original arcade quality which is good, but missed one thing: The Shadow's Japanese voice in Geese Howard's mirror battle with his Shadow. The Shadow is mentally unstable and I think he wants to create another chaos in South Town.
Garou MOTW is on PSN now with online capability and extras
I heard it for quite a time. It makes me wonder what kind of extra this "new version/port" brings...
Graphic/music style wise, I prefer RB series more. MOTW is OK to me but it won't be my first preference for some reason.
Been playing a game called "Life". Highly addictive and recommended.
I also played Super Ghouls N' Ghosts for shits and giggles. Just wanted to see if I could pass the first stage and didn't plan to play very long, since the game gives you limited continues. I didn't realize the game gives you additional continues for every set amount of money bags you pick up. So I ended up playing for a few hours and running out of continues just before the boss room of level 7.
The Switch!! I got one friday and got Zelda of course and Snipperclip! Very impressed so far
How is the Switch console itself? Although there are positive reviews I've read a lot of issues have come with it in the form of left joycons not synching and dead pixels, screen scratching from docking the unit etc.
Its fine. Treat it like any other 300$ piece of hardware and havent had any problems.
The screen _is_ plastic though not glass. Makes it a little more finicky but Im putting a glass screen protector on it tomorrow. Its a great console so far. Ive took it to work every day since launch day and play on my lunch break. Ive also left the dock at my gfs house and just use it as a portable and charge it with a standard usb-c cable when I need to
I just hope nintendo uses it for its handheld and console markets and it actually gets games! *cough* wiiu *cough*
The other thing that worries me is this dead pixels shenanigans that Nintendo doesn't consider a defect. I dealt with it when I got the 3DSXL, feel like I got duped by them, and I don't really want to deal again for something nearly worth twice the price.
I think Nintendo has such a hatedom they blow things like this out of proportion. Red Ring of Death, white screen of death, dead pixels is annoying but not as much as a bricked console. Every launch version of every console for at least the last decade has had issues. My solution is to never buy launch versions of consoles.
Main Topic:
Back to FFXV tonight :)
DO the timed hunt. Whooo~♪
It's all about the mechs for me.
So far, playing Assault Suit Leynos (the remake) and played some Gunhound Ex. Prolly going to go through Gigantic Army again because that's a fun game (and again, mechs).
Hows the Leynos remake? I bought it but it's still in the plastic wrap.
Stuck in a specific stage (need to break enemy's guard to deal damage) in World Tour mode of Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PSP). It's just a...hazard to perform moves on PSP's d-pad and I'm suck at combinations.
Normal (Semi-Arcade) mode costs me several good hours to beat Final boss M.Bison. Love that badass music it fits him perfectly.
And damn capcom just didn't give us sound test mode aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrraaaaggghhh
Final M.Bison and Shin Akuma are playable. Hella great! (Final M.Bison is still charge-based character despite one-key super combo can be set in PSP ver. But it doesn't change the fact that CPU final boss is on drug.)
Been playing a ton of Dark Souls 3 again now that all the DLC is out 8) Good times!
Giving Just Cause 3 a play. Never played this series before but it is very similar to games like GTA/SR in terms of the whole sandbox thing. Having a blast. Literally, since when I blow s**t up lots of things explode around me, lol. Although there is no character creation mode, I'm still getting into the game.
@JR: How are the honey badgers?
JR@
Oh, I get absolutely livid when developers force you to make certain choices that literally step on your own morals. It's f**king stupid of them. Especially if all the choices revolve around going against what you want out of the game. What you want to see happen in the game. I don't know why they do this. Maybe they're secretly on the lookout for the next kid criminal or something. Just stupid of them. At least in reality there's always more then two choices to be made. Like Captain Kirk had said in Operation: Annihilate; "I want that third alternative!" Damned straight 8)
also been playing outland lately on my z-box. it's a very nice looking metroidvania-type with light/shadow mechanics reminiscent of lords of shadow. other than that, i don't know much about it, but it's turning out to be a really, really good game.
Playing Wolfenstein for PS3 (the one that came out before The New Order). Fairly decent, although the depiction of BJ Blazkowicz in this one is a bit jarring after playing the most recent two titles.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 - Great emulation this time around, and the checkpoint system allows you to fix a mistake or even beat wily stages at your own pace
playing Crystalis on the GBC.
i've never gotten all the way through it, but i've heard the GBC version is more "complete" somehow?
I gave the GBC version a try when it was lent to me by my bro's friend. I only played snippets of the original NES title so I cannot draw a comparison as to which is more complete in terms of story, etc. Overall it was a good game on its own.
I've never heard anything about completeness but if I recall correctly the GBC and NES games have -completely- different storylines.
------------------------------------------
|Differences Between The NES & GBC Versions|
------------------------------------------
When playing this version of Crystalis, it's pretty obvious that
there is quite a few changes in the game. I will only list the big
changes.
1. The storyline has changed a whole lot through the game. Think
back to how the story went on the NES version, and you'll know
what I'm talking about. Not only that, the music has changed, for
the worst, I might add.
2. The GBC Cave, or Gameboy Color Cave. I call it this, because
it's a new cave that can only be accessed on the GBC version,
hence the name. It's a small cave, that has the Alarm Flute in it.
3. When you get either a Ball or Bracelet for a sword, they have
an attack rating as well, which will increase your sword power.
4. Alot of the enemies have change, like the Killer Chest isn't as
popular as it once was. Not only that, it seems any sword can kill
any enemy atleast from what I can see.
5. There is a couple new items, well new in the sense that they
wasn't in the NES version, but they are simple. The Necklace Of
Fate and Kensu's Body (don't ask). Deo's Pendant (NES version) was
changed to Stom's Pendant, but it works the same as Deo's Pendant.
6. Some of the names of locations have changed (Evil Spirit Island
is now Island of Spirits for example). Also some of the story has
changed from the NES version, but it's generally the same story.
7. Probably the big kicker, you have to defeat DYNA BEFORE
fighting the final form of Dragonia. Here's another strange bit,
you don't get the Sword Of Crystalis till after defeating DYNA,
which you will use it on Dragonia's final form.
8. The Flying Tower (Floating Tower) went through a huge
changeover, making it a bit more difficult to get through.
There's probably some other things, but these are the big ones
that sticks out in my mind. Hope this doesn't confuse you that
much ^_^.
The only reason I'd get Legacy 2 is for 8, which is possibly my favourite mm game of all time, side by side with 2. Unfortunately I already have 9 & 10 and I don't really care much for 7.
Sonic Mania. I needed some therapy after the atrocity that was Sonic: Lost World (aka the first Sonic game I actively and unapologetically HATED and I even had some nice things to say about Sonic 2006) and this game is just what I needed.
Also Sonic 2 HD got a beautiful demo version with Emerald Hill Zone, Chemical Plant Zone and Hill Top Zone in it. Great stuff, everyone should definitely check it out: https://sonic2hd.com
Just bought Cuphead on X1 and it's one of the most unique games I've ever played with its 1930's cartoon graphics and Contra run n' gun gameplay. Absolutely love it.
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero: Risky DLC
It's out now? I've been waiting. It's out... but I'll go ahead and warn you, They didn't put much effort into this one, Risky herself is fine, but everything else is rather unchanged.
I've been playing a lot of The Sims 3. I love designing houses 8)
So that game is based of the godawful tom cruise flick? The game looks cool, but the film was garbage I hear. The film IS horrible. And from what I hear, the Dark universe is basically dead (for now, but Universal might take another crack at a "Universal Monster Cinematic Universe" sometime in the future, and here's hoping they ditch the dumb "super hero action" concept and play up what these movies ARE, horror). Those people I know that have played this said it's the BEST thing to come from the Dark Universe, and that it's sorta like Castlevania, Metroid and Contra with a dash of Dark Souls. From hearing bits of the music, it the OST seems to take inspiration from John Carpenter's style (basically now, the "Retro Wave" style).
Question Zuljaras.
Is Skyrim complete for the switch? Or did Bethesda get lazy with this one as well and we must download the majority of the game from the internet?
Played a quick game of Rastan on the Taito Collection. I don't ever remember that game not allowing continues on the last level. I could've sworn I've beaten it before, but then again, I seriously doubt I could finish the final level on one credit. (That sort of restriction in older games is total bullshit, IMO...right up there with DMC-style performance grading on my list of gaming pet peeves)
Aside from Sonic Mania, I've been hammering FFXV this break. I'm nearly done with the hunts in general and have reached L7 Hunter rank.
At L63, one shotted Adamantoise (on the first try) which took less than 5 minutes, probably been one of my better recent achievements.
I plan to do the hunts, not level up, finish the game (I'm right near the end) and then level up and complete Final Training. Such a good game, I've been on hiatus from for so long.
Did you do the ring magic to one shot that turtle? ;)
I missed playing that game since I'm so busy. sigh. Although I'm just farming MV2s (the most OP accessory found in chapter 15) now in the main game. And I still haven't started comrades dlc. I'm just bummed that they are only releasing Nyx's face with PS+ subscribers in Asia/Japan. Boo.
Final Training is awesome! Oh and don't forget to visit the hidden dungeon on chapter 15. :)
The Assassin's Festival ends this month, if you haven't played it yet.
Assassin's festival ends?? Can't you just download it and play it later on? I have zero time :/
I've considered purchasing Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto's chapters, but I don't have any time now that I'm back at work.. Shit is crazy right now.
Edit: Re Adamantoise, yes I did :)
Ends at Jan 31. I think. You may still play it pass the deadline provided that you have not done any updates to the game, or you are not connected online, maybe?
Just get the season pass, the comrades dlc (you don't need ps+ unless you want to play with others, it allows an offline mode) also has story elements that would fit for chapter 14. They have stuff that can be used in the main game, plus the season pass unlocks the OP ragnanok blade and other things. Episode Ignis is the best of the three bro episodes, in my opinion.
Try fighting the Adamantoise without the ring, as what I did way back before they tweaked the ring. LOL
I don't understand the update/ availability thing, I never updated the game for ages, but when I went back to it, I thought the update downloaded automatically or was mandatory, so I'm not really certain which 'version' I was playing during Chapter 13. I've noticed now in Ch14 I can join multiple hunts (not quests) which wasn't possible upon XV's release.
So if I get the season pass I get a version of similar story elements? Because it's actually cheaper on the PSN to buy the 3 bro chapters separately.
I actually did try to fight Adamantoise a year or more ago at around L40, it was a timed quest and I never would have done it in under 20 minutes at that level. Maybe it was the last update or ch14, but it's no longer timed. When I finally level up after finishing the game I'm going to fight it without the ring.
Ah, well no idea they tweaked the ring, I'm guessing it was the update
The update downloads automatically as long as the PS4 is connected to the internet. Based on what you wrote, you have the most recent update installed. Better get on playing the AC festival. There's new dialogue there.
The season pass just gives extra costumes (mariachi noctis! LOL), weapon/accessories. If you are just after the 3 bros, yes it is cheaper to buy them separately, but if you want the comrades dlc, the season pass is cheaper. I loved the game so the season pass was a no brainer.
I prefer that you play those episodes after you finish the main story since some of them contain heavy spoilers.
The weapons you receive from the dlcs are very powerful in the main game, but it's not worth playing the Episodes early just to receive the weapons as there's other weapons of comparable power. But you can just watch them in youtube if you are cheap. lol
The first encounter with adamantoise just requires you to escape the battle area, hence the timer. The adamantoise in the hunts allow you to fight it til it dies. If I am not mistaken, more hunts open up in chapter 15.
Maybe I'll try and chip away at the Assassins Festival first and foremost. But it's just so damn fun doing hunts!
The hunts will forever be there, but the AC Festival will not. Get a move on and play the festival! :)
There's a rumor that there'll be a season pass 2. dun dun dun dun....
I technically haven't touched my PS4 in almost a month. LOL
Oh God Shiroi, ontop of everything else, I'm waiting in the hospital with someone suffering dehydration. So yeah, bad odds against me :P
Oh SP2, I'll keep my ears open.. E3 will be around the corner in no time.
I hope the person in the hospital gets well soon. If I'm not mistaken the AC fest can be done in a few hours.
Might try to finally play the Assassin's festival in FFXV also.
FYI It ends on January 31.
Sigh. Then it ain't gunna happen... Back in hospital boarding with someone who is sick. I guess I'll just hang out for the Royal edition now.
The Assassin's Festival won't be part of the Royal Edition. Well, you can just watch youtube videos for it.
I don't really know why they wouldn't include it, seems kinda silly to not.
We'll see, there will be another way to play it eventually if it's that good.
Currently playing MegaMari. The idea of the whole game was great but enemies are often placed as stupid amount of swarms as some inhuman Mega Man hack ROM shit did. Damn.
And to bring the hit detection disorientation in Touhou to Mega Man style game was a good move, but sometimes goddamn it because player will cost WAY too much patient to avoid bullets in a boss fight, and the hit detection disorientation is always there.
Played this one some years back as well. Shit, that game is tough >:(
Still on the way of challenging impossible after vanquished the fierce struuggle: MegaMari.
Completed CVPoR Richter Hard Lv1 cap with default HP/MP only. The console was then sent to an eternal rest because it's rusted severely...
Shame since I feel that the Zelda 64 remakes would have been right at home on the Wii-U, talk about easy money...
The other smart thing would be to fix the breakable weapons. I can understand them breaking if it was only the wood weapons and the rusted blades residing about. But not new ones OR the Master sword for that matter (well it doesn't actually break but it does lose its power and you have to wait a while before using it again :P). I just hope the next Zelda title doesn't have breakable weapons in it.Could be worse, They could do like Fallout 4 where you have means to repair and upkeep weapons, but it does away with the entire breakable weapon mechanic.

Is Lacrimosa of Dana worth it?
I haven't finished either one, but I did get all the shrines.
I'm kinda waiting for the Playable Zelda mod to be finished before I go back to it.
On the other hand the Linkle mod was just recently released too, but I think I might save that one for when I restart on hard mode.
I have it on ps4, almost made it platinum. It has a very nice story, cool battles and an awesome soundtrack. One of the best games i played on ps4 and of the ys series.cool. Maybe I'll get the Switch version this month.
Also slowly playing through FF XIII for the first time. I love the menu design and can appreciate the infinite hallway gameplay but can’t really get into the characters.
Could be worse, They could do like Fallout 4 where you have means to repair and upkeep weapons, but it does away with the entire breakable weapon mechanic.
Guacamelee. What are your opinions on this fun Metroidvania game recently re-released for the Switch and how long do you think it will be before that Pancake guy writes a fanfic where he corrupts the girl with the mummy costume?
@Jazz Even then, don't think you'll necessarily have all this attention and mental energy to game in bed. Believe me, so many odd things here and there become crucial when a child is born and requires your attention.
I've never been a Sonic fan, but I'm really into Sonic Mania+ on Switch at the moment. If the old Sonic games are this good, I've definitely been missing out.

personally I've never liked S&K or Sonic CD, but people rave about them.
S&K is actually part 2 of Sonic 3. I don't know why but the developers broke the game up into two parts before launch.
I know. But if you read up on the development history of the two titles you will find that they were planned originally as one game.
Been on and off on Arkham Knight lately...it just feels so different from the rest of the Arkham games, and not in a good way. Really not a fan of the AR challenges that involve racing and vehicular combat. I just really don't like the Batmobile that much in this game. Still not sure if I want to go for the Knightfall ending, or just watch it on youtube.
Honestly, I liked Arkham Origins.
My bro was disappointed with Arkham Origins. But mainly from the story's perspective. Batman was rude to Alfred in his speaking lines which was never the case in any of the whole of the history of Batman. They've never had that kind of relationship, especially when you consider that after the murder Alfred raised Bruce himself. But I guess that's what happens when you outsource a game to a different company and they want to do their own thing with it :P
I don't get the hate. Long live XV.
They're churning out XV goods which includes an eau de toilette line for the 4 main characters.I want to smell the way Gladio looks! 8)
spidermaaannnnn
i absolutely love everything about this game
spiderman is the best guy

According to the site, it has the freshness of lemon grass and lime with strong woodsy scent and musk.
Picked up Fallout 4 GOTY, forgot how good the game was, as usual to my recent activities, minimal mods.
I felt disappointed with Fallout 4 GotY edition. The reason is that I paid full retail for the game and all the DLC stuff, so why the hell do I have to download the DLC off the internet? It should be on the disk Bethesda. Otherwise it's no different then its previous release. I tell ya. Way too internet obsessed these companies are nowadays. All just to save a buck.
All games right now do that. It's sad, but it's the reality.
I think the disc (I know they only used 50gb discs) can't hold all the memory needed for the base game + DLC.
If the base game + DLC's total GB is less than 50GB, then by all means hurl insults to the publisher. lol
The reality is very sad, but it is not necessary. They're only doing it this way to save money despite the fact that discs are very inexpensive to produce. 50 gigs is more then enough for Fallout4 plus all it's DLC content. Look how much they crammed into the Witcher 3. That game was huge yet the base game plus all its DLC content are on the disc. The gaming companies are just trying to save a buck by using the most inexpensive avenue they can find.
At least the original cast is all there
even if Mei Ling lost her charming accent.
Just played Mega Man X3 again...I've always enjoyed this and the first MMX over the years. But then it hit me: is it kind of crappy that a lot of the bosses are super-hard with the Buster, but then a complete cakewalk with the right weapon? Should there be more of a middle ground in terms of boss difficulty? Or am I just becoming old and cranky?

Seeing Death Stranding and FFVII is making me consider buying a PS4....or wait for PS5..hnnng
I've been casually playing MGSV on Xbox One. Seeing Death Stranding and FFVII is making me consider buying a PS4....or wait for PS5..hnnngWait it out, those are timed exclusives.
Kinda want to play some Build Engine shooters at the moment. Like the original Shadow Warrior. Or Blood again...that one was amazing.Ion Maiden.
Thinking about another go through of Trials of Mana (I am forced to play the extracted ROM, don't have any console is on, save for the SNES, and the Japanese version, which I DO plan to get within a year or so). I liked my time with the fan translated ROM last time, really is a beautiful game.Maybe give Dawn of Mana a shot, a little slower, but still amazing.
I do have Final Fantasy Adventure, and the Japanese version of Secret of Mana in the collection, and Legend of Mana is just too damned pricey these days, but Seiken Densetsu 3 can still be gotten, often times boxed, at still a fair price.
Monster Boy is something I've recently completed, Amazing title and I hope it gets more traction, has some of the best music this year.
Currently ran into blazing hot discussion regarding Mega Man X6 Tweak patcher in other forums, will provide them modified title screens if I had such spare time or skillsacediez explained to me how the title screen works and I doubt the modify process would be too complicated. Test versions after 2.0 are enough to make it a totally separate game, really looking forward to its formal release at romhacking.net.
Now I'm on a quest of hunting those modern metroidvanias I ignored purposely after the launch of Mighty Gunvolt Burst Steam port, also looking forward to release of Gensokyo Night Festival
MMX6 tweak patcher is getting an update? SWEET! Now it's going to be hell getting that rom again since the 2.0 specification can only be found in obscure means. My time with it was the best time with X6 ever.
Mighty Gunvolt Burst is good, be sure to have an auto-fire button handy though.
I'm still knee deep in Doom II WADs. :-\ Played through Hell Revealed, Eternal Doom, Hell Ground, Perdition's Gate, and Echelon. It just amazes me how many mappers there have been throughout the years. Carmack's idea to have the source code available from the start has been one of the coolest things I've heard of in gaming. So much great stuff came out as a result! And I've barely played a handful of it!
I want to get started on Blasphemous, eventually. Unless I'm still playing WADs when Doom Eternal comes out. Then I'll just switch to that. I'm surprised I haven't tired myself out of all this Doom stuff yet. :P
Doom stuff here too; I've been working on graphic replacements for Smooth Doom using the Neural Upscale 2x textures as the source, I'm not touching Monsters and Gore (since they are tied to the monsters) but everything else gets the treatment and it... it looks nice.

Holy shit that looks awesome. Is that a fan game?
Downloading Doom Eternal. I thought the previous Doom was brilliant, cant wait play the new one later this afternoon.
Oh man, I couldn't follow you down that path. The last game gave me motion sickness, and I don't get motion sickness easily. That camera was a nightmare for me.
Red Dead Redemption 2. But after having to delete my save file twice that I put a three digit hour amount into, I probably will never pick it up again. Was far too bug-riddled and luck-based to be enjoyable anyhow. A good story can't save a game with abyssmal gameplay. I just persevered to see the story, but it was ultimately not worth it at all. Felt like work, rather than fun.

I beat Wallachia on easy, may try to get through it on normal this weekend.
Civvie11 makes fun of Randy Pitchford a lot, especially in his videos of Build Engine games, and the one about Aliens: Colonial Marines. His channel is one of my favorites.
The fire emblem games for 3DS; as well as Three houses.
Also Link's awakening for switch.

A board game I'd highly recommend is Fireball Island. I used to have one but I didn't know just how rare and it would become. Should've held onto my mine >:(
AVGN gives a review of the game here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYfZZBIQkr8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYfZZBIQkr8)
Going to pick up Mario 3D All Stars today and get started on Mario Galaxy, my favorite 3D Mario. I 100%ed this game back in the day, I love everything about it. The soundtrack is GOAT tier levels of dopeness: https://youtu.be/IVH6Gl7W0hI
Started playing Divinity 2... loving it so far. Initially I tried playing it as a single player game, but it wasn't clicking with me. I think its way more fun to play through co-op with 4 players. It feels really close to the traditional tabletop DnD experience, where hours just rapidly melt away. My favorite aspect of the game by far is the battle system. I'm a big tabletop DnD fan, so I prefer turn based tactical battle systems for RPGs, and Divinity 2's version is possibly the best video game version I've seen yet.
Once we finish this game, I want to try Baldur's Gate 3. I hear its really buggy at the moment but it will likely be a while before we finish playing through Divinity 2 anyways.
Also fell in love with Super Ghouls n' Ghosts for the SNES. I think it's easily a top 10 game for the system.
Played a bit of the Witcher 3 on my PS5. It'll definitely take me some time to get through it considering how large the game + DLCs are. Right now I'm giving RE: Village a shot and so far I'm enjoying it. Although I have to get my hands on RE 7 just so I can really understand what's going on with Ethan Winters.Have you beaten it yet? I'm on the Village of Shadows difficulty now, so playthrough number 3 i believe? lol. I thought it was a great game. 7 was also, although a lot of the fanbois gave it slack. I've been a fan of the RE series since the OG in 95, and i think this was a very necessary turn for the series. As much of a win that the formula for RE4 was, it's good to see something fresh come up and surprise us.(click to show/hide)
Have you beaten it yet?
The original Borderlands. Both me and my bro a really want to kick Crawmerax's @$$, so we're doing second play-through to get leveled-up and get even better weapons to at least stand a chance against that stupid crabby. And yes, we know about the ledge trick. The only issue is getting it all down pat in order to work in our favor.
Oh, man, good luck to you. My wife and I tried that fight a few times and just couldn't kill him. I don't think we ever finished the Circle of Duty missions, either. :-[
SoR 4 DLC is out now? Sweet! Time to play.
If you're into anime, the Record of Lodoss War OVA and Chronicles of the Heroic Knight TV series are some of the best the '90s had to offer.I'm looking into it right now, and I really think I will check it out.
Elden Ring... Absolute perfection

Still doing the Zero upgrades run on Metroid Dread Mode.
Taking intermittent breaks for kids & life in general.
Just playing Elden Ring mostly :D
Super Mario Wonder does a really good job of recapturing that feeling of playing Mario games as a child. There are so many secrets, and surprises in every level, plus the way that the wonder flower changes every level is really fun.
I give Super Mario Wonder a 9 out of 10.

The Last Faith.I've been playing The Last Faith lately too. Normally I hate Dark Souls style games, but this has really grown on me. It's not nearly as difficult as the actual Souls games, but it thinks it is, and it has a ton of similar mechanics. It's the pixel art the interested me in the first place, and yet I don't think its pixel art is among the best I've seen. It's almost like it's so zoomed out you can't see the detail they included. I do like it though.
