One reason I could never get into the Three Stooges was their movies were so shallow. Marx brothers were intelligent, witty, often tongue-in-cheeky, and weren't afraid to take some time out to let Chico and/or Harpo show off one their best talents:

I do believe Chaplin was one of the best actors in the history of the business, but I still think Marx Bros.'s movies outclass his by a smidgen.
