That's looking better Omen.
Well, now it most certainly not looking like a julius(a bit)..
 ;)

thanks guys. i'm working on the crouch whip and have a technical question, does the number of frames for stand/crouch/jump whipping have to match? for example: julius has roughly 12 frames for each set.

thanks for the input aridale, guess i thought in order for a jumping whip animation to continue on the ground, the animation had to have the same amount of frames. guess not though.

A abundance of too many reused SOTN sprites for my taste..not really a bad thing.... It looks like it could use some extra polish, the Leon sprites are the only thing that look original to me...the jumping looks terrible. I know it's early, but if he could fix some issues this could be really sweet.

Swear to god I hate that whip animation. I don't think whips even move like that at all. Watch that first vid I posted. The problem with Omen's whip animations (the one on Don's Richter is ok) is that it's unnatural and doesn't trail enough. The whip should remain mostly behind the character while the whip's handle moves with the arm. The length of the whip stays behind and is pulled forward. A loop is formed between the handle and the length of the whip (this is due to the thickness of the whip toward the handle), then the whip's momentum pulls the rest of the whip forward. The whip cracks when the character starts to withdraw his hand (doesn't have to redraw very far, just a flick of the wrist basically). Omen's whip right now stays out front too long and I have always HATED that little wiggle in the middle of the animation.

ok, theo, i'll try the "trailing" whip style, even though i've always thought it looks like they're swingin round a wet noodle. i like the retro castlevania style of whipping. i have to agree with ya theo, bout the whip staying out front and "wiggling." otherwise, i appreciate your critique.

swear to god, i'm glad i listened to theo bout the whip! used a richter whip animation and it looks fluid as hell. added a red flash to the end of the whip cycle - dunno if i should take it out...

Yeah Omen! That looks much better imo. That whipping animation for the whip seems fit better.

Taking Edward Scissorhands to a whole new level!

good stuff, solblazer. the melee moves make me yearn to make Tifa for castlevania. before my julius re-color, i wanted to edit classic simon from chronicles - i gave him the reimagined simon's pink hair and added a beard (dunno why i insist on giving guys beards, but...) i made this run cycle for him.

big-ups to theouaegis for pushing the alternate whip style. i think i'm going to change the character's head, i dunno - my original concept had the character in a ponytail but i want to distance his appearance further from julius...
