On a scale of 1 to 10, how much will this game prepare me for the 16 bit masterpiece that is Sonic 3 & Knuckles?

You gotta be high on something if you think any of these things connect.

And they don't.  ;)

lol the boss AI in this game

Death:  Floats around rarely attacking; easily gets stunlocked
Carmilla:  Floats around occasionally shooting easily-avoidable fireballs; easily gets stunlocked
Dracula:  Floats around and teleports some; easily gets stunlocked

Simon's Quest is much more time-consuming and frustration (Carnival Night Act 2's barrel, notwithstanding). As much as I love Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and I do very much so, it's lost its challenge over time. The bosses are way too easy. But the level design and the music are the best in the series. Screw Sonic 2. Sonic 3 is the best of the Genesis games by far.
