The most likely reason is this:
-Programming of the product is close to completion and only tweaks, optimizations, and other polishing touches are left to make the game better... and it would take a lot of reworking to get it to port to the Wii-U.  That, and the Wii-U's very small current user base would not warrant the resources being used to port it.

It's the only understandable reason I can think of.

I don't think the company's like "Oh the Wii-U sucks, let's not make games for it".  That would not be a good business thing to do.

Not entirely so. There have already been some developer ports that the WiiU has a few weak spots in it's power (mainly the processor) that make the porting of some games from the 360 and PS3 very hard without decreasing the features. If it isn't worth their hassle, (ie the cost of redoing portions to fit the WiiU's needs) they won't bother with it.

Seems like lately the slightest cost is reason enough not to port for most companies.

Except the PS3/X360 are old consoles = Lots of people may hve them. The WiiU is still very young = only a few people bought it (at some extend).

Still not even beginning to approach the number of PC out there.

What about a port of Mirror of Fate then?

oh good, no Wii U port.  i'm not ready to buy a Wii U yet.  but i think i'd be tickled if the "next" game was a Wii U exclusive if they came up with a fun way to use it.  plus of course an Arcade port would be welcome.
