Well in Alucards case, it took 30 years for his vampirism to kick in after he was declared dead, while Gabriel was still living so Lauras blood probably worked faster. Plus he got a power boost from the Forgotten One's dark energy which might have accelerated his transformation process.

My thoughts: Trevor died from being impaled by his own weapon. Since Dracul is a super powerful vampire, the blood Trevor drank was naturally able to bring him back as a vampire...but ony after being dead for 30
years. This is likely how Carmilla made Laura; Alucard's skin is even the same as Laura's. Gabriel on the other hand drank all of Laura's blood and in doing so was able to skip that period of being asleep, time which they did not have.

in Alucard/simons defense, the last time Simon saw his father was a very young child.

He knows his father fell at Dracula's hand, 30 years ago.
his memory of his father is probably hazy. Meanwhile Alucard has pale blueish tinted skin,

There are some things I'm not liking so far, Gabriel had to replace all of Laura's blood to become a Vampire, yet Alucard just got a pint? And Simon never learns about the fate of his father well, okay but Gabriel is fully recognizable as Vampire yet Alucard has full facial surgery after becoming an Undead so Simon can't recognize his own father. I understand that a Child would go through emotional trauma for the death of his mother and assume his father went as well to haze his memory a little but, c'mon. Either that or Cox is lying as usual...

Simon knew about his father. Otherwise their last scene would have seemd homo erotic to him, and he was a barbarian. Cox is not the writer of the game so I'm not sure he has all the plot answers. Simon didn't remember Trevor's face because he was a child when Trevor went to the Castle. Alucard still looks like trevor. Gabriel didn't need all of Laura's blood to become a vampire, he needed all of Laura's blood to absorb her power and not go through the HORRIBLE PIG FACED VAMPIRE phase. She needed him with all the powers of an elder inmediately.
That's probably what happened to Alucard, he recieved just a little of Gabriel's blood, and probably his body suffers because of that. But he didn't become a bat vampire because, well, he came from the Dark Lord himself, and perhaps some of Gabriel's powers passed to him.

Of course! PC have 10x the power of a PS3/X360, it can trump over the game shitty optimization and give us 60FPS/1080p easily, given you have a good GPU.

Everything. Will look 10x better in higher framerate (higher fluitidy and responsiveness).
