They brought it back with Chronicles' arrange intro, with the grainy 1930's style movie feel.

CV 2 didn't have much of a horror movie feel either and skewed closer to the general Gothic feeling of the late 90s/00s CV games.

Well, that's the cover and a Nintendo magazine. Sure, it was still a bit of movie style in it, but overall CV2 had pretty eerie parts and it was genuinely darker than CV.

Well, start screen and prologue still have movie reel borders.

I see CV1 - 3 as "Überwald gothic", which fits very well with the horror movie aesthetic. Afterwards, I think the games gradually moved to the romantic part of the gothic spectrum.

So if we are getting a new trailer, I think it will probably be released on Halloween.

I am actually curious about something, something that has been on my mind for a few months now. I actually forgot my twitter password and the email I used it for, is pretty much ghosted (I no longer use it, and don't remember the password for it.) But, I am slightly curious as to if left over experience from LoS1 (to upgrade Gabriel's skills) would carry over to LoS2? Kinda like, what they did for GoW1 for GoW2.

Wouldn't that conflict with the fact that Gabe is supposed to be weakened in this game?

I don't know if he has all of his skills from LOS1 but in the demo he does have the more upgraded versions of his attacks.

The demo is also the prologue/tutorial to the game. It does the Metroid thing.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Unless the game has you going back and forth between past and present, after the tutorial stage (which is likely the demo) Gabula will become Oldbula/Crapbula, stripped of all his powers.
