Man I hope that there's like an arena mode with like 25 challenges in this game.

Seems so, he also said that the past and present maps are called "Dracula's Castle" (duh) and "Castlevania City" (which sounds fan fic-ish to me but so did Belmont's becoming Dracula's and Alucard's :P). And that Agreus is pissed at Dracula for killing Pan.

That was pretty much it.

Oh, dear. That's three pages of discussion I've missed while I wasn't here.

I'm glad this new trailer was released; it's by far the most powerful one we've seen. The debut trailer looked amazing, but elucidated little about the plot; The demo and the E3 trailer, while monumental in scale, seemed somewhat unfocused. Dracula's Vengeance isn't extraordinarily long, but it perfectly captures the struggle around which LoS2 revolves. And the voice acting in the trailer is impeccable. Carlyle seems to have outdone himself this time. Bravo.

I'm more divided on the artistic choices. LoS2 sports the darker, gothic tones which I've always appreciated in the series, and I'm very glad to see it. On the other hand, I'm not too enthusiastic about some of the character designs; while I admire Dracula's general aspect, I'm not the biggest fan of the open-chested armor he wears. Somehow, it seems out of place. And I simply can't swallow Alucard's new appearance. He simply looks... ugly, especially since he's given a carbon copy of his father's armor.
On the other hand, Victor and Trevor look decent, and Zobek's character is quite well-executed.

I'm also unsure why MS needed to add "Blood is Family -- Blood is Power -- Blood is Everything" in the end. It hurts the trailer's finale, serves no apparent purpose, and comes out as more than a little cheesy.
Blood is Good.
Blood is Drink.
Blood is Red.
Blood is... Blood.

And as for that mysterious, robed figure, I'll assume it's Shaft. It'd certainly be interesting to see him in the LoS continuity.

Wasn't there an arena implied or at least considered as DLC for the first game? I recall Cox saying something that one of the DLCs was planned to be something like an arena. Instead we got two lazy chapters.

Still not as stupid as the Dracula Armor skin. Seriously, I don't see any armor.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I'm kinda sad that there's no option to preorder for PC. And that the Collector's edition seems console bound as well.

Dark Dracula seems to me more like a cheap attempt at an Alucard Skin.

It's like, they asked for preorder goodies, and MS was like, "Shit, we didn't think of that... uh... Here. Have these... Uh... Skins..." that they made in a day or two.

A Classic Dracula skin would rock though. White hair with a red and black outfit

When I think classic Dracula, I think something like this:

Though, I wouldn't mind seeing Gabe pimpin that style, his hair slicked back and all. Though, I could also see him with his hair down, he'd probably look somewhat similar to this:

Gabula, a vampy chick's magnet!

Alright, touche. That definitely IS classic Dracula. And I gotta say, I think Carlyle's face would lend itself to a more traditional Dracula look.

But I meant SoTN style Dracula. Which would also be neat.

The Dark Dracula skin worries me since I was holding my breath for a possible Alucard DLC mode.

This seems like a cheap way to get around adding Alucard as a playable character by making gabula kinda resemble him and saying "There you go Alucard fans!". :-[

And I agree with Flame, a symphony of the night style Dracula skin for Gabriel would have been a much better idea.

I'm right there with you. I just finished MoF HD, and I really want to play more as Alucard. I love his LoSverse interpretation and want to see as much of him as possible.

I am hundred percent sure that Alucard is not playable in the game. He will be in DLC from seeing an interview with website a long time ago which suggested that you play with other characters then Alucard which I posted awhile back here. However the DLC may come much much later. I think Flame is right that these DLC skins were made at the last second. Also I love Alucard design in HD its strangely beautiful but show his torment in not being human. He seems to embrace his role as Alucard though. Also is Shaft in this game going to be serving Satan instead of Dracula? That would be pretty interesting.

I'm holding out for Victor Belmont and Alucard expansion DLCs.

Why settle for a costume when you can get whole character storylines?
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
