Lol, what if Kojima is lying about how he isn't involved in the game... He did that with The Phantom Pain debut on how it wasn't MGS. Now as much as I love MGS, I only want few references where I go "Ahhh, I see what you did there." but I don't want Dracula hiding inside a cardboard box. I don't what stealth 'sections', I want stealth 'mechanics' in it. Like Skyrim, where it is an action game but you can do stealth IF YOU WANT TO. I know some people wont like stealth so it should just remain as a mechanic. Be tactical or go head on. That is what Castlevania needs if it wants to survive or even progress in modern gaming. Games that have various mechanics and gameplay styles thrive on. I think it needs nice Immersion in my opinion.
It's this kind of idea that I absolutely enjoy. Unfortunately, sometimes that kind of freedom is given flak from the "hardcore gamers" when it deviates from the franchise's original formula. Even if it's just a mechanic, it's still gonna be bashed for being there, since the
LoS franchise was always about hacking and slashing.
Just look at
Metal Gear Solid 4. It gave you options about whether or not you wanting to be tactical and avoid combat, or take the difficult route and run-n-gun your way through. The latter option was totally against the genre, and that received a LOT of flak from several "hardcore"
MGS fans (particularly those that dwell on GameFAQs).
Can't really speak for the
Elder Scrolls series as I haven't played it that much. I spent a few hours in
Morrowind, but that was when I was a wee lad.
Anyway, hope what I said made sense at all.
