Cox came out today and said 2D Castlevania is not possible anymore.

LOL why? Because they cant, nobody can then? HA
I guess that all IGA haters are rejoicing now. Have fun with your fancy Belmont Dracula and rat stealth.

Quote
Coming from a GamesTM interview with David Cox, producer of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadows series...

I think those days (of 2D Castlevania games) are gone, yes. I think hardcore gamers would love to play another 2D Castlevania, but the reality is that it’s a very niche market and Konami really want this series to be mainstream again. We took this direction in order to reach that bigger audience, otherwise we would have carried on with the 2D approach. That’s not to say I don’t think there will ever be another 2D game in the series, it might happen but just not from MercurySteam. When you look at the future on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, I don’t think people want to play 2D games on those consoles. Core gamers may still want something like that, but there’s an expectation among the wider public for big, epic games.

Meanwhile, I am looking forward to the very 2D Child of Light and Mercenary Kings on my PS4.  I just like games: I don't care what 'D' it's in.  I guess I'm in the minority, niche market.  :'(

Finished the game last night after 12+hours.
I was highly disappointed by the final battle and the ending. Now I realize that many parts of the story are very nonsensical or illogical. (Like Dracula being able to use elevators and light switches without hesitation) Also, they waste characters with good potential like Victor Belmont.

Too bad, this was one of my most anticipated games of the year.  :'(

If you don't mind me asking:  what came off as illogical or nonsensical?  And was the final fight still good but just lack luster after

or just lackluster in general?

Finally got my code from GMG. preloading now.

by the way, I'd like to say how good it feels that it is installing over the demo version. That's just glorious.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Just ignore Cox's occasionally idiotic comments. He's been making them for years now.

DAT final battle. Did they outsource that to Platinum games or something?  ;)

I'm too tired and overwhelmed to post a full review, perhaps tomorrow, but I'm more than satisfied. What a game, what a ride. What a ride these years have been guys, these years with you.

Time to celebrate! Cheers, and thank you Mercury!
Glad to see you back on track, Ahasverus. But keep in mind that some of us don't have their LoS2 copy yet, and that you're not exactly easing the wait...  :-\

The game's only out on the 27th in Europe, but I'll try to get my copy earlier. I can't wait anymore.  :o

No, it is physical but is triggered through Dracula's mind. In other words, he can manifest the true Castle.
