Don't know if anyone is a 007 fan or not here, but I am, and I am pumped for Quantum of Solace, especially after how awesome Casino Royale was.

Anyways, here's the new song "Another Way to Die" by Jack White and Alicia Keys. I'm surprised, I actually enjoy it.

Nope... Best bond movie is Golden Eye no questions asked =D not really excited about Quantum either but atleast it looks to be better than Casino was.

I haven't seen too many Bond flicks. Only the two by Martin Campbell--GoldenEye and Casino Royale, both of which are excellent--and The World Is Not Enough, which...sucked.

I absolutely adore Casino Royale. I personally think it's leaps and bounds ahead of GoldenEye, and I really like the current Bond. (Although Pierce Brosnan rocks as well. Too bad he was apparently only in one good Bond film.)

Guess we'll just have to see how the new flick turns out. I like the whole "reboot" approach, trying to make things a little more accurate to the books. Although if I heard right, the Bond in the novels is a misogynist. Guess that wouldn't really fly well, especially not today, considering Bond's popularity as a pop-culture icon. ;)

I like how subtle and more practical/realistic the gadgets in Casino Royale are. From what I remember, TWINE was ridiculous, and I hear most other Bond flicks are.

One of these days I'll see all the Bond films, but right now it's nowhere near top-priority.

I'm just looking forward to where the new definitive Bond is headed in the new film, which is an original idea directly initiated by events from the last movie. Casino Royale was quick to top my list of all-time best 007 movies when it was released. Martin Campbell is without a doubt the main man to take up this series and rescue it from such flimsy popcorn fodder as Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough. His very own GoldenEye single-handedly reinvigorated the franchise with a bang, though I must say that Tomorrow Never Dies reigns as the top Pierce Brosnan Bond vehicle in my estimation. Still, Casino brought us the true James Bond from Ian Fleming's novels; a cold, disaffected, bad-ass killer and brought the series into a whole new dimension. There is little doubt in my mind that the upcoming Quantum will make the effort to uphold this freshly-polished tradition.

I've seen most of the Bond flicks (Hell, I own damn near all of them.) and Casino Royale is definitely essential aside from Goldeneye, The Spy Who Loved Me,The Man WIth The Golden Gun, most of the Connery films, and A Licence to Kill.

I look forward to it for sure.

I thought Moonraker was pretty good... But yeah, I'm looking forward to this. My friend that lives in the UK (It's already out there) says the story is very confusing, and she's seen just about all Bond films.

I thought Quantum of Solace ruled. RULED. Got back from seeing it a little while ago. I like how it starts off almost immediately after Casino Royale, and that it shows Bond as an unchained beast our for revenge.

But then at the end it shows Bond maturing a bit, being more cooperative as an MI6 agent, having forgiven Vesper and finally being able to hopefully move along.

A lot of people like to say that nothing really happens in the film and that it's unnecessary. I couldn't disagree more. It's a necessary film to show the development in Bond's character. And a lot of the critics seem to be trailing off about how Bond is not an action star and that it's supposed to be all about camp and sleeping around with women with ridiculous names. (I'm lookin' at you and your shitty "review," Ebert.) Well, the critics be damned! It's like they hadn't even seen Casino Royale or something, and didn't know that this more ballsy, realistic approach is what they're going for with Daniel Craig's Bond. Why is it such a surprise?

Excellent movie. I eargerly anticipate the next one.

I thought Quantum was good as well. Great to see an actual sequel to a Bond movie for once. The action was amazing as always, and I loved the humor in it.

The smart-assed humor was brilliant in this flick. The film itself really had me sold but kinda died down a bit later on.

QoS reminds me a whole lot of Licence To Kill, in which Bond gets so hell-bent on revenge he's not only pursuing the enemy but eluding MI-6 in the process. Except he dosen't share a room with Q and there's a throwback to Goldfinger.

And quantum seemed much more interesting then the villain group in the Connery films they never really did anything with.

I was a bit disappointed by this. It didn't live up to Casino Royale. It had some bad ass fights but the story was a bit lacking. Overall it wasn't terrible, I was just expecting more

Heh. A bit of a late reply on this subject as the movie has been out a while. I went and saw it on opening weekend but didn't notice this thread until recently. Oh well.

Anyway, I agree with profbeanburrito. I liked Quantum of Solace, but I thought Casino Royale was superior. Considering I didn't see Casino Royale until I watched it on my HDTV a few months ago, that's saying a lot about Quantum of Solace not appealing as much to me after seeing it in the actual movie theater. Quantum of Solace just felt a little forced to me and it also felt like it was drawn out a bit too long. I'm not saying I hated it. But, like profbeanburrito, I was just expecting more (in a shorter amount of time).
